Hello Arihaanth, It depends on the xray, the depth of the caries in your teeth. If caries has effected only the enamel, and dentin then you can get your teeth restored. If it involves the pulp then RCT can be done. If enough tooth structure is present then RCT can be done and tooth can be saved. If root stumps are left then you may need them to be removed.

Cavity can be treated either by filling or rct depends upon the condition of pulp. Get one x-ray done. It will help to decide the treatment you need. For prevention you should take care of your oral hygiene. Brush twice regularly. Rinse after every meal. Floss your tooth to prevent food impaction.

6- Cavity Having cavities is not a serious problem at all. Cavities which are not too deep can be excavated and be restored by a dental cement. Cavities that are very deep can be cured by root canal treatment followed by crown ( cap ). For better prevention of cavities , 1- Follow proper brushing technique. 2- Brush twice a day 3-clean your teeth immediately every time after you eat food or liquids. 4- Undergo scaling ( cleaning of teeth) at the interval of every 5-6 months. 5- Visit dentist for regular oral cavity check up every 4 months for the early diagnosis and prevention of dental diseases. What medicine or ointment should I use?
To avoid infection and reduce pain in a first-degree burn on the tongue: rinse the area well with cool water for a few minutes. Remove any dirt or particles that may be on the burn. Wet a clean cloth with cool water and hold it on top of the burn. Suck on ice chips or a popsicle to soothe the pain. Gargle with cool water or salt water. Avoid warm or hot liquids, which could irritate the burn. Take acetaminophen or ibuprofen for pain and inflammation. Sprinkle a few grains of sugar on the tongue to relieve pain.

Enamel Loss: What It Is and How to Fix It?

Enamel loss is nothing but tooth enamel erosion and this is quite a pathetic kind of oral condition. If the eroded enamel does not get restored, then your oral condition will get deteriorated to a great extent.
Teeth enamel plays the most important role in protecting teeth and if this layer gets eroded, then your teeth will get heavily damaged. Your teeth will not only get eroded, but the real dental color will also get changed.

Why enamel erosion occurs?
1. Drinking excessive hot or cold: your enamel is very much sensitive to hot or cold food items and as a result of which email loss is invited.
2. Having fruit drinks: citric acid in the fruit drinks is the element that can cause enamel erosion.
3. Sugary diet: excessive sugary diet is the very prominent cause of this kind of dental condition and
Thus you should take more and more of non-sugary foods.
4. Environmental factors: there are many environmental factors that are responsible for enamel loss, and they are corrosion, stress, tear, wear, friction and others.
5. Medications: few medications are there that can cause enamel erosion and these medicines are antihistamines, aspirin and many more.
6. Gastrointestinal troubles: these kinds of troubles are prone to the frequent erosion of tooth enamel and thus these problems need to be resolved as soon as possible.

What are the leading treatments for restoring enamel loss?

1. Using fluoride toothpaste and mouthwash: there are many talented dentists who are strongly recommending the usage of both fluoride mouthwash and toothpaste so that tooth decay can be easily prevented. These products are now commercially available over-the-counter.

2. Routine dental check-up: daily dental check-up is needed so that oral condition can be checked so that the causes and signs of enamel loss can be detected, and then only perfect treatments can be easily applied.

3. Taking vitamin-d supplements: there are many drugs and supplements that are enriched with vitamin-d, and they can be taken on a regular basis so that decayed enamel can be easily restored in a safe manner. Coconut oil can be taken in addition to these supplements for getting greater oral benefits.

4. Cosmetic restoration options: there are many enamel-restoration options that can be cosmetically performed. Some of the popular options are crowning, filling, and others. On the other hand, leading a healthy lifestyle is also very important in this regard.

I have mouth ulcer since many years, mostly around the tongue and am hardly ever without these painful symptoms. All the ointments only hold the pain down for little time, but never solve the problem. Would an ayurvedic treatment help? And if so where should I go? Thank you

Hi teeth can be black may be because of two reasons like either tooth is dead or due to any staining. If tooth is dead rct is the option or any discolouration or staining then bleaching is the option. You need to be investigated and diagnosed for proper treatment plan.

If discomfort lasts only moments, sensitivity generally does not signal a serious problem. It may be caused by; a small area of decay in a tooth, a loose filling or an exposed root surface resulting from gum recession and possibly toothbrush abrasion. This sensitivity should last no longer then a few days; however, if decay has recently been removed or a filling or crown recently has been placed, a tooth may take a week or two to settle. Mild pain relievers like acetaminophen, aspirin or ibuprofen should help. If the pain persists or worsens, see your dentist for root canal treatment.
