I am suffering from low back pain from last 3-4 years and I have done many diagnosis from many govt doctors and private chains but still I am facing pain while sitting for more than 2-3 hours without any support like chairs and or comfortable chairs and sofas.

Dear lybrate user, backache after sitting for longer period suggestive of wither of 2 problem. 1- disc herniation which is more likely & 2- facetal arthritis which is less likely. Kindly get mri of lumbosacral spine done & consult a interventional pain specialist or orthopedician trained in spine. I'm sure your diagnosis will be confirmed as diagnosing back pain is not easy due to different small anatomical structure, hence advise will be to visit any of the above mentioned specialist. Once diagnosis is made it can be tested, else you'll keep on taking pain killers to suppress pain but disease can't be treated this way. Hope this will guide you better.

She is having back pain in whole of her back. Major pain area is 8 inches above the bump on left side from last 10 days. Pain is Continuous in nature. She is feeling stiffness in the back. Find it hard to move swiftly. History: patient of osteoarthritis since 2013. But this pain is different from osteoarthritis.

Use ice pack. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

I am 43 years male diabetes patient, I have problems in my both the knees, I cant stand up easily once I sat in the chair for more than 1 hour. Is it any side effect of diabetes, if yes what is the solution for this, please advice.

Hello, After having liquor in a friend's party 2 days ago, I went blackout. Next day I woke up with calf and knee pain. It has happened with me before but every time it gets self cured after few days but this time, I am feeling an increase in pain. I have also observed hardening in the muscles of my calf. Is this a symptom of some serious rupture? What can be done to get recovered at the earliest. Regards,

do hot fermentation and rest. tk muscle relaxant medicine after food and do gentle massage of calf muscle. if it work then OK otherwise physiotherapy treatment for few days

Normally you should be able to return to weightlifting about three to four months after your injury. Once your fracture heals, the joints are typically stiff and the surrounding muscles are weak because they haven't been used during immobilized time. You will need to increase your range of motion and strengthen your hand muscles before returning to weight lifting. Please consult a physiotherapist to find out what's causing you pain and the right pain management solution.

Hello, thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. You will have to elaborate your problem as to a detailed discussion of your back and neck pain which means duration of pain and mode of onset. I would also like to ask you if it is associated with any radiating leg or upper limb pain or any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias ( electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. Please also tell me about any associated symptoms like fever, weight loss etc. What medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem. Give mag phos 6x every 4 hrs. Apply warm application on lower abdomen. Avoid dry fruits non veg and ice cream cold drink rice. Report after a week.
