My uncle suffered from cancer two days ago almost one year back he came to know he is suffering from cancer. I want to know how does cancer occur and what are the root causes of cancer. Why is there no medicine yet though science is developed to latest technologies. This dangerous cancer is taking many lives. Will any medicine or vaccination come in future?

Cells of the body begin to divide and spread into nearby tissues leading to cancer and it can be genetic or a chronic constant irritant present leading to such type of changes And we have to treat it in initial stages for best results

MCH - Surgical Oncology
Oncologist, Hubli-Dharwad
Hello dear, nasopharynx cancer has good response to chemoradiotherapy. Based on the extent of disease and histological variant, response varies. If biopsy report is squamous carcinoma, has good reponse to chemoradiotherapy. If report is adenoxarcinima, has poor reponse.

What is the symptoms of cancer and what I should I do if fiver for over last two days.

MBBS
General Physician, Faridabad
A cancer may also cause symptoms like fever, extreme tiredness (fatigue), or weight loss. This may be because cancer cells use up much of the body’s energy supply, or they may release substances that change the way the body makes energy from food. Cancer can also cause the immune system to react in ways that produce these signs and symptoms. tab dolo sos when temp. Is high, and get few test done like cbc, complete urine exam. Platelet count, mp slide for malaria and widal test. Back with report. Thank you

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. There could be a lot of reasons for her pain, it may not actually be linked with her previous history of breast cancer and could just be degenerative arthrosis setting in the joints. I will advise for a fresh x ray (ap standing & lateral views) of affected knee and get her esr, crp, serum electrolytes and serum vitamin d levels done so that I can see and advise accordingly. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Most likely, your wife must be having what is known as fibroadenosis of the breasts. This is a common occurrence at this age due to hormonal changes. Breast support (say a tight bra) and simple pain killers may help symptomatically. There are specific medicines available but they should be taken only after a professional examination by a general surgeon and after excluding other conditions. The way out, till then is to be gentle during foreplay.

Dont take water after 8 pm, avoid evening tea/cofee/juice/liquor, wear loose and comfortable garments, protect yourself from cold environment, go to toilet immediately before going to bed. Also find out the usual time for urination during night and set an alarm just before that time to avoid bed wetting. Finally get your blood sugar level and specific gravity of urine checked.

I guess some limb has been grown in side my breast. I am really concerned regarding this. Kindly help me.

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
It looks like it is fibroadenoma, it should be removed after initial investigation like mammography and sonography of the breast and FNAC. Fibroadenomas are not cancer and don’t increase the risk of developing breast cancer. They occur because of an increased sensitivity to the female hormone estrogen. A fibroadenoma usually has a smooth rubbery feel and can move easily under the skin. They are usually painless, but some people may feel pain. It is very common can occur in numbers. It can occur at any age. Most are about 1 to 3cm in size but occasionally, it can grow to more than 5cm. Most fibroadenomas stay the same size. Some get smaller and some eventually disappear over time.
