I am 32 years old. I am lost my hair every day. Please tell me what I should do ?

Certified Diabetes Educator, Registered Dietitian (RD), PGDD, Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (B.U.M.S), General Physician
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
Your hair needs a high protein well-rounded diet. A strand of hair is composed of mostly protein, which means your hair needs protein to grow. Hair and nails are both protein fibers. Hence a therapeutic diet prescribed by a registered dietitian can help a lot in hair growth. Besides diet excessive stress and some medication are conclusively known to retard hair growth and promote hair loss. - cut down on the use of hair spray, hair gels, and styling creams that contain harsh chemical ingredients, which can dry out the scalp and cause the formation of flakes. Also harsh treatments such as perms, colours, relaxers etc take a toll on the health of your hair. - avoid changing your shampoo and conditioner constantly. Stick to one good mild cleansing shampoo for six months before changing. - excessive exposure to the sun, pollution, rain water and dust without proper protection makes the hair dry, brittle and limp. Use a live in conditioner during the rains to protect it from the humidity and wash and oil it regularly to maintain a healthy scalp. I being a both a registered dietitian and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. Do reply back for private consultation for rx.

I will suggest you to apply aloevera gel twice a day for six months over the dark patch lesion and follow up on completion and I will suggest you to wash your hair daily with lux shampoo and apply hair oil daily.

Hi I'm a male I always think of looking handsome and good looking and look fair and handsome so that girls look at me and I girl comes after me but I feel or get depressed that I'm not good looking and handsome or fair looking please tel me or help me wat should I do or please help me with this.

Hi I'm a male I always think of looking handsome and good looking and look fair and handsome so that girls look at me...
It is wonderful if you are fair and handsome but character development is more important. In fact, if you are selected on the basis of your looks, you are to be pitied because that relationship will not last. Looks can be temporary in durability: looks fade away and is too dependent on the beholder's view. Even when you look for a suitable girl, do not base it on her looks alone. Very little of compatibility is based on physical attributes. There are five areas for consideration: the physical, emotional, mental, social and the spiritual. You need to focus in all these areas to be truly appealing to a girl. You must learn to carry yourself well, dress well, speak well, and be a cheerful person. Your education is going to reflect in your behavior and speech: develop them instead. Improve your values and your outlook in life, and above all improve your character. These are prevailing features that a girl will continue to love and admire for a long time!

Different Causes of Scabies

Different Causes of Scabies

This contagious and highly itchy skin condition comes with symptoms like thin and irregular burrow like tracks containing blisters. These may be found on the affected areas of the skin. Mostly, these growths are found in the folds of one's skin and can occur for children and adults alike. The most common areas where these blisters, sores and bumps may be found include the genital areas, buttocks, the inner side of the elbows, soles of the feet, around the breasts, the waistline, the insides of the wrists and other areas. Let us have a look at the various causes of this condition.

  1. Mite: An eight legged mite is the most common cause of this skin disease (Know more about common skin disease). The female mites are known to burrow deep in the folds of the skin, where they leave their eggs to hatch and spread. These mites usually make a tunnel like burrow in which the eggs get deposited. The mite larvae then reach the surface the skin and cause a lot of itching once they begin to mature. This itching is mainly an allergic reaction to the larvae as well as the eggs and waste.
  2. Physical Contact with Infected Parties: This condition is mostly caused when there is contact with an infected person or animal. This happens due to the fact that contact with an infected party can lead to a deposit of the mites on to the skin, leading to the process of burrowing, egg laying and maturing of the larvae. There has to be close and prolonged contact with an infected person or animal for this to happen. Yet, it has been observed that the mites prefer to live on the host. They do not live for too long on someone inherits the disease with contact.
  3. Scratching: There are lots of complications that can lead to the breakout or worsening of the situation. Scratching the skin can often break the same which can lead to secondary bacterial skin infections. Superficial infections like impetigo can also lead to an accumulation of these mites, which can further spread the condition.
  4. High Risk Groups: There are many people who are more at risk of contracting this skin disease. Patients with chronic health conditions like HIV (Know more about HIV) and Leukaemia can contract a severe form of scabies known as Crusted scabies or Norwegian Scabies. Also, people who have spent long periods in hospitals and nursing facilities due to prolonged illness and treatment can contract this contagious ailment. Further, it has been found that older people living in nursing homes also often come down with this condition. The crusty and scaly patches caused by this disease can cover the entire body and may be very difficult to treat.

My mother have dry skin. Will she take 2 teaspoon of amla juice along with 1teaspoon of honey twice a day?

My mother have dry skin. Will she take 2 teaspoon of amla juice along with 1teaspoon of honey twice a day?
She can definitely try this. I will give you some more tips to deal with skin dryness - Bathe with gentle soaps. If possible use some natural ingredients like gramflour, turmeric mixed with some milk to bathe daily. This does not wash your skin off the natural oils. Keep your bath short and do not use hot water to bathe. Use only lukewarm water. Apply Vitamin E oil or warm olive oil on the body after bathing. You can also use a good moisturiser. Cocoa butter mixed with wheat germ oil is also very good at maintaining the skin health. You can mix some oils like – Sesame, olive, virgin coconut oil, wheat germ oil to apply before going to bed. Consume diet that is rich in vitamin E, omega 3 and 6 and other skin friendly vitamins like vitamin E and A. Eat almonds, walnuts, flaxseeds, sesame seeds to maintain skin health. Keep yourself hydrated. Drink atleast 8-10 glasses of water to keep your skin soft and supple.

Premature greying is greying before the age of 30 yr. There are various reasons involved in it. Genetic factor is the most important cause. Apart from that nutritional deficiency, stress, thyroid problem also adds up in it. Treatment is available. Scalp check and hair analysis is important for it. Proteins are important. Food rich in proteins are sprouts, beans, nuts, soya. Green leafy vegetable will help in giving iron. Drink 3 lit of water/day. Oil the scalp 3/week and wash it 3/week. Hi, there are many reasons for hair fall and understanding them is important before treating hair fall, for which you can consult me privately where I will take your case at depth and treat you homeopathically without any side effects meanwhile you can take care of diet and regimen as follows 1. Wash your hair with mild shampoo for 2-3 times/week 2. If you have dandruff then apply oil only once in a week or 10 days otherwise apply oil every time before hair wash 3. Avoid using cosmetics like gels and sprays on hair 4. Take protein rich food esp soya products, include green tea, flax seeds etc. Nuts and raisins 5. De-stress yourself with proper night's sleep and breathing and physical exercises.
