allopathic treatment can be very good and effective. ayurvedic treatment for arthritis contains bhasm and gold which can be very toxic, so the claims that it is side effect free is totally wrong...also many a times unchecked and unregulated ayurvedic powders (patients never ask about source of ayurvedic drugs unlike allopathic which is always printed) contain steroids which gives good relief but can be harmful

Hi doctor, my son have acne prob. At first I have some large pimples. But now a days I have milia type acne. And by this its gives a marks on my skin. I would suggest you to use a mild/gentle cleanser for face wash, twice daily e.g cetaphil or sebamed cleansing lotion. You may use a topical antibacterial e.g clindamycin or benzoyl peroxide gel just as a spot treatment for active acne or milia during day time. At night you may use a topical retinoid e.g Adapalene gel, over the whole affected area. Topical retinoids are antiinflammatory as well as comedolytic; therefore they help with both preexisting acne as well as prevent new acne formation. Topical retinoids also help fade away the pigmentation/dark spots/PIH as a result of acne and from irritation to salicylic acid.

I live in a hot and humid environment. My main problem is dry sticky nose which creates itching sensation always (sometimes repeated sneezing and nasal blockage). I tried antihistamines, steam vapor & nasal saline drops but still there is persistent itching. How to solve this problem?

It may be due to allergy in the noss to some allergen that is causing itching and sneezing. You should try steroid spray along with antihistaminics.

Please take rhus tox 200 - thrice daily for next 3-4 days. Also -- soak a washcloth in cool tap water wring out the excess water and then sponge areas like your armpits, feet, hands and groin to reduce the temperature. Also, you can place cold, damp washcloths on your forehead and the back of your neck. The cloth pieces should be changed regularly after a few minutes. This remedy is beneficial when dealing with a high fever as it helps keep temperature under control. You can also take a bath in lukewarm water to relax your body. Taking a shower, however, may not be a good idea. Plus, needless to say, take as much rest as possible as it helps the body fight the illness. Note: do not use very cold water as it may cause the internal body temperature to increase.

Hello lybrate-user, some tips to lose weight are 1.1. Eat small and frequent 4 -5 meals in a day, instead of 3 heavy meals. 2. Drink 3 -4 lts of water daily. 3. Include high-protein foods like milk and milk products, paneer, dals, soybeans, eggs, chicken/fish (if non-vegetarian). Reduce excess carbohydrate intake like rice, banana, chips, burgers, pizzas, etc 4. Minimize sugar intake in the form of sweets, cakes, pastries, chocolates, etc 5. Use less of oil to cook your food as well as stop eating fried stuff like puris, chips, samosas, etc. 6. Include 30 minutes brisk walks 5-6 times a week.

Hye, thanks for the query. Firstly it is important to understand that weight /fat loss involves sensible eating. You have to eat the right foods at the right time. Eat small but frequent meals. Reduce your main meals by 1/4th the amount. Take a glass of lime water 10 minutes before meals. Avoid long gaps in between meals. Avoid junk as far as possible. Exercise at least 4 times a week. Lastly be committed. Remember it's a lifestyle change and not a one time thing. It's a balanced intake that will last you longer. All the so called diets will only give you muscle and bone loss. The fats will remain as it is. So, try to first follow this seemingly simple tips.

There is no possibility of pregnancy in the current scenario. The bleeding must be because of either rupture of hymen or minimal injury during fingering. If the bleeding doesn't settle in one day do consult a doctor. Ensure this is not just her menstrual bleeding.

Hello, There are few food items which helps you in boosting up your memory power, increases focus & concentration, so try to take more of these: 1.Choline: Good sources of choline include liver, milk, eggs and peanuts. 2.Vitamin B: B vitamins are not synthesized in the body, and thus need to be obtained from food. B-complex vitamins are water-soluble vitamins, which means that they are not stored within the body. In consequence, the B vitamins need ongoing replenishment. Vitamin B1 (thiamine) rich sources include unrefined grain products, ready-to-eat cereals, meat (especially pork), dairy products, peanuts, legumes, fruits and eggs. Foods that contain high concentrations of vitamin B3 (niacin) in the free form include beans and organ meat, as well as enriched grain and cereal products. While niacin is present in corn and other grains, the bioavailability of the nutrient is much less than it is in protein-rich sources. The role of vitamin B9 (folic acid) during pregnancy is vital to normal development of the nervous system in the fetus. Good sources of folate include liver, ready-to-eat breakfast cereals, beans, asparagus, spinach, broccoli, and orange juice. Animal protein products are a good source of vitamin B12 (cobalamine), particularly organ meats such as kidney or liver. Other good sources are fish, eggs, and dairy products. 3.Vitamin A: The foods highest in Vitamin A are any pigmented fruits and vegetables and leafy green vegetables. 4.Zinc: Zinc is a very important part of the brain as well; many regions of the brain, such as the cerebellum, and hippocampus have neurons that contain this nutrient. Zinc is needed to maintain normal Vitamin A levels in blood plasma. Sources of zinc are meats, certain seafood, whole grains, baked beans, oatmeal, milk (low-fat), cashewnut, almonds, kidney-beans, cheese, peas, spinach, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, flaxseeds. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine for increasing memory - Anacardium 200/ once daily. Every animal has sexual instinct because they are designed to reproduce. Human being also has sexual instinct and therefore he needs to satisfy sexual instinct. Therefore, to satisfy sexual instinct, a man or woman, masturbates. In any case, masturbation is never unhealthy or will never affect your physical or sexual health or it cannot affect your future sex life and the ability to have children. Use proper brushing techniques with a fluridated toothpaste. Brush, floss n use mouthwash twice daily. Massage your gums with your finger tips after brushing. Keep your tongue clean.
