It is not a problem and is called posetting and not vomiting seen in infants as a food pipe (valve in esophagus called GES) has not become strong and will be strong by 6-12 months of age. Till then burp well and as people feel, the entire mik is not wasted .You monitor weight every month to make sure the growth is normal.

4 Reasons Why Breastfeeding is so Crucial!

4 Reasons Why Breastfeeding is so Crucial!

Breast milk provides essential nutrients for infants and is a mix of nutrients, which include vitamins, proteins and fat that are necessary for a baby's growth. Apart from benefitting babies, breastfeeding benefits mothers too.

Here are 4 benefits of breastfeeding:

1) Provides nutrients and protection to the baby - The best food a mother can give to her baby is her breast milk. It helps your baby to grow and develop. Breast milk is custom-made by all mothers for their own babies and, thus, contains a perfect mix of essential nutrients. Breast milk contains a mixture of protein, carbohydrate, fat, vitamins and minerals, which are very important for the proper growth and development of the baby. It also contains many antibodies that reduce the chance of diseases and allergies. In fact, the milk's content changes as your baby grows to keep up with the infant's needs.

2) Convenience - The milk from breasts is always safe and fresh, and is precisely of the right temperature, which what makes it a convenient food for the baby. What's more, it doesn't require heating, boiling or sterilizing as such; and can be fed to the baby anywhere, anytime.

3) Benefits mothers - According to a research, breastfeeding, to an extent, provides protection against breast and ovarian cancer. It also serves as a measure of protection against weak bones in the later part of life. Calories are required in order to produce milk. So, breastfeeding helps to gradually lose weight after pregnancy as well. Moreover, breast feeding also defers the return of menstruation for a little while.

4) Continues the special relationship between mother and child - The bond between a mother and a child strengthens due to the intimacy and the closeness involved in breastfeeding. One of the remarkable facts about this is the more a baby breastfeeds, the more milk the mother produces.

My son is 6 months old. I feel he is facing problem of motion. Earlier a month ago, he used to pass motion 5 days once in normal form(no hardness) and now, some times three times in a day or two that too in liquid format. Leaving these, he is very active by his age and no abnormal crying observed. Worth to mention that, recently he suffered with fever for a day and we given dosage of Paracetamol syrup IP. Please help.

Your son is passing loose stools for a few days I presume. If the child's diet changed, then it may last for a short time. If you have changed the milk, please go back to breast feeding. If there is blood and mucus in the stool, then it needs attention. If he is on bottle feeds, try to get him off the bottle and on to cup feeds. After having done all of the above, you can give a probiotic like bifilac or darolac sachet, half three times a day with a few spoons of water for three days. If it changes to very watery loose stools, give lots of electrobion/rebalanz electrolyte water.

It is dangerous to stay with ayurveda alone in a child. He may have allergic rhinitis for which there are safe medicines in allopathy as I am treating many. If it is infective he will need a course of antibiotic initially. Take care.

A baby can br massaged lightly after about two weeks of birth. Homemade butter or ghee can be used for massage, also coconut oil. But make not to smear too much oil and to massage with light hands.

If you have given azithromycin for 6 days already then no need to repeat it. Whether its simple allergic cough or infective cough will be differentiated by your doctor. Antibiotics like azithromycin are given for infective cough. Any other antibiotics needs to be given or not will also be decided by your doctor. Precautions- regular handwash of bsby and all thr people who are in contact with the baby. Also in babies environment there should not be major temperature changes suddenly as this also mskes the baby prone to allergic cough and cold. Do not take thr baby in dusty areas as this will trigger allergic cough and cold. For cough and cold in children give hot food and liguids. This helps in clearing the throat and swelling therein. Happy Parenting.

Sucking hand is due to breast and nipple confusion and if you breastfeed continue and never give bottle . Now you have to give more of love, care and feed form glass and breast . Only good care can get him out of this and relax he is only one year old
