Hi, Recently I have taken blood test in that I have seen some of my reports are little bit high, TOTAL CHOLESTEROL PHOTOMETRY 204 mg/dl 125-200 HDL CHOLESTEROL - DIRECT PHOTOMETRY 34 mg/dl 35-80 LDL CHOLESTEROL - DIRECT PHOTOMETRY 127 mg/dl 85-130 TRIGLYCERIDES PHOTOMETRY 266 mg/dl 25-200 TC/ HDL CHOLESTEROL RATIO CALCULATED 6 Ratio 3 - 5 LDL / HDL RATIO CALCULATED 3.8 Ratio 1.5-3.5 VLDL CHOLESTEROL CALCULATED 53.2 mg/dl 5 - 40 NON-HDL CHOLESTEROL CALCULATED 170.1 mg/dl < 160 could you please suggest how should I take care of these things. Dear user This report does not indicate any thing serious but yes it us alarming to make changes to your duet and life style. You triglicerides are little high than normal level. Yu are requested to stop fried food stuff reheated sweets. Go for a walk daily. Cpnsule more fruits and vegetables. Ayurveda- I have hypertension since last 8-9 years, I started allopathic medicine for about 6 months, but it makes my stomach tight and heavy and breathing problems (what I observed). Now I'm taking Patanjali Muktavati 2 tablets twice a day before meal. BP measures are not quite low, but have no side effects and feels comfortable. Please advise some other effective Ayurveda medicines or measures. Thanks.

You need to understand about high blood pressure.  Normal range of blood pressure is between 90/60 to 140/90, anything above or below is is abnormal. Many factors can affect blood pressure, including: 1) The amount of water and salt you have in your body 2) The condition of your kidneys, nervous system, or blood vessels 3) Your hormone levels 4) your lifestyle - smoking, drinking, exercise  You are more likely to be told your blood pressure is too high as you get older. This is because your blood vessels become stiffer as you age. When that happens, your blood pressure goes up. High blood pressure increases your chance of having a stroke, heart attack, heart failure, kidney disease, or early death. DASH stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension. DASH lowers high blood pressure and improves levels of cholesterol. This reduces your risk of getting heart disease. The DASH Diet Emphasizes vegetables, fruits, and fat-free or low-fat dairy products. Includes whole grains, fish, poultry, beans, seeds, nuts, and vegetable oils. Limits sodium, sweets, sugary beverages, and red meats. Along with DASH, other lifestyle changes can help lower your blood pressure. They include staying at a healthy weight, exercising, and not smoking. My advice to you would be 1) Keep a BP daily record for at least one week 2) Basic tests should be one to rule out cardiac / kidney issues 3) unless any recent evaluation has been done I would advice these test ECG ECHO Lipid Profile TSH KFT  Renal doppler  Get back to me with a detailed history and  old / new records for a better individualized advice.

Mr. lybrate-user, Diabetes mellitus can only be controlled, there is no cure. Treatment has to continue for life time. Depending on type of diabetes, either oral anti-diabetic drugs or Insulin injections are given. In addition there has to be strict dietary control and regular exercise to maintain normal weight and improve internal insulin action. Thanks.

1. Low calorie, non fatty foods. 2. Avoid all sweetening foods. 3 avoid potatoes and other roots. 4. Avoid aerated drinks 5. Take plenty of vegetables, chapati and rice in small quantities 5. Avoid all fries. 6. Avoid non- veg for few months- then you can take white of egg, if possible tender chicken and fish gravy. Avoid mutton.

Hi for reduced cholesterol you should take meal on time 2. Take heavy breakfast, then lunch at every day fix time, eat something light food at at evening and then have dinner at 8.00pm and sleep after 2-3 hr of dinner 3. Avoid junk food, bakery product, spicy, late night dinner and sleep 4. Do exercise at morning at least 45 min every day till you sweat 5. Take following remedies a] triphala kadha at night 30 ml b]arogya vardhini vati 1 tab before lunch and dinner.

On hypertension medication. But sometimes Blood pressure shoots up to 180/90 with shivering and palpitation for atleast half an hour

General tiredness and unhealthy feeling may be due to various factors. Uncontrolled bp and/or diabetes, underlying complications for example blockages in heart, another condition like hypothyroidism or simply lack of fitness. You need to consult any physician and find out the exact cause. It may not be possible to advise online in such cases.

In ayurveda, Hypertension is referred to as Rakta Capa Vriddhi and it sees the vitiation of vata and pitta doshas as the main cause. Mix 1 teaspoon of onion juice with an equal amount of honey. Take once a day for 1 week. Upon noticing improvement, continue for several more days. Take sarpgandha vati twice a day. Yogendra ras. Akik bhasm works very good in case of hypertension. Avoid salty diet. Oily food. Lower your stress. Do pranayama early morning.

) chest pain causes 1. Heart disease 2. Stress, anxiety 3. Lack of exercise 4. Sedentary life style 5. Obesity (over weight) 6. Smoking, tobacco and alcohol consumption 7. Excess oily, fatty, cholesterol rich diet, junk food 8. Hyperacidity, musculr pain 9. Heredity and genetic factor prevention follow the advice given below 1. Avoid stress and strain 2. Do regular exercise, yoga, meditation, deep breathing exercise like pranayama etc. It will calm your mind, control your emotion and relieve stress 3 avoid alcohol, smoking and tobacco consumption. 4. Take bland diet, avoid spicy, oily, fatty and junk food 5. Take paracetamol 500mg one tablet sos after food up to a maximum of three tablets daily, at the time of chest pain 6. Drink plenty of water and take rest. 7. If you have recurrent attack of chest pain take ecg and consult cardiologist 8. Consult me for further advice.

Hand exercise dear you can do it easly…………1, Pinch Strengthener This exercise helps strengthen the muscles of your fingers and thumb. It can help you turn keys, open food packages, and use the gas pump more easily. •Pinch a soft foam ball or some putty between the tips of your fingers and your thumb. •Hold for 30 to 60 seconds. •Repeat 10 to 15 times on both hands. Do this exercise two to three times a week, but rest your hands for 48 hours in between sessions. Don't do this exercise if your thumb joint is damage Finger Lift Use this exercise to help increase the range of motion and flexibility in your fingers. •Place your hand flat, palm down, on a table or other surface. •Gently lift one finger at a time off of the table and then lower it. •You can also lift all your fingers and thumb at once, and then lower. •Repeat eight to 12 times on each han Thumb Extension Strengthening the muscles of your thumbs can help you grab and lift heavy things like cans and bottles. •Put your hand flat on a table. Wrap a rubber band around your hand at the base of your finger joints. •Gently move your thumb away from your fingers as far as you can. •Hold for 30 to 60 seconds and release. •Repeat 10 to 15 times with both hands. You can do this exercise two to three times a week, but rest your hands for 48 hours in between sessions. Thumb Touch This exercise helps increase the range of motion in your thumbs, which helps with activities like picking up your toothbrush, fork and spoon, and pens when you write. •Hold your hand out in front of you, with your wrist straight. •Gently touch your thumb to each of your four fingertips, one at a time, making the shape of an" O. •Hold each stretch for 30 to 60 seconds. You may be having muscular pain due somebstrenous exercise or muscular spasm you can have muscle relaxants like volini spray or volini ointments. Have plenty of water by mouth. Go for morning walk by free hand exercises.

Dear Lybrateuser, - At your age your pain could be due to acidity, anxiety or sedentary habit - avoid fried, spicy, sour & junk food - chew your food well, do not skip meals, have meals on time, have 5-6 small meals including snacks rather than three large meals, do not lye down for at least 1-2 hrs after meals, have dinner 2-3 hrs before bedtime - have plenty of oral fluids including 7-8 glasses of water for proper digestion - to rule out any cardiac problem do ECG, echocardiogram - do regular exercise like brisk walking, jogging, swimming, yoga & deep breathing for 10-15 min daily morning - take tablet Pan40, 1 tab half an hour before meals - consult a doctor if not much relief.

Hi ,i have blood pressure that spikes to 140/100 some days it is present, some days it is not, it spikes when I am in stress or have to do lot of stressful work lije exams time, should I take antihypertensive to control this blood pressure, otherwise my thyroid and other tests are normal. I am young also and prefer to avoid antihypertensive. Kindly tell .e whether there is a need for antihypertensive or not. I also experience flushing of face sometimes, heaviness in head, palpitations also.

Please lybrate-user you are young but your weight is high. So first do life style modification. 1.control your weight avoid ghee, butter,oil etc brisk walking 30 min/day eat huge amount of salad green vegetables and fruits. Eat slowly chew well. Decrease no of rotis and use missi roti. Take three small meals and fruits in between meal. Do three month. Simultaneosly for 10 days take cap. Betacap tr 40 twice daily after breakfast and dinne. Then record b.p. And tell me on line.

Reduce your weight in a healthy way. You will defiantly get ride of there problems. If you are not able to do lot of things just start your day with one glass of luke warm water and a piece of garlic. And eat a healthy diet reduce fried fatty and sweet food products.
