I have pain in my ears from the last night after I listened loud music from my headphones. so, please tell what to do.?

PG Hom, London, BHMS
Homeopath, Mumbai
Hi, if you want your ears, dont listen to loud music and that too from your headphones. Using headphones, is bad in itself and to worsen it, you were listening to loud music. This can lead to something as bad as rupture of your ear drums leading to permanent deafness. As for your current pain, you can take paracetamol tablet to subside the pain.

Hi From last one year I am suffering from left nose look especially when I wake up in morning. Snoring is obseved. My age 56with dm. Weight is 80 kg height 164 cms.

MS , MBBS
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Bangalore
Hi. One thing you should understand is that snoring is because of many reasons including. Lack of physical activity, obesity, short neck, problems in the airway like dns, flabby soft palate, thick tongue base etc. You need to undergo sleep study analysis and that will tell us more about the problem. Some tips like not to sleep on the back as the tongue falls backwards obstructing the airway. Not have food full stomach in the night and minimum 2 hours gap between food and sleep. Good physical activity. Like playing sports or exercise. Kindly see ent specialist for further checkup.

I am having running nose for months together. Its not cough and cold. What to do. One ENT doctor suggested that it is due to allergy.

BHMS
Homeopath, Raebareli
Drink plenty of warm fluids. Drinking warm fluids helps to loosen the secretions in your sinuses so that your mucus flows more freely, making you feel better faster. Studies show that drinking warm fluids relieves cold symptoms such as runny nose, cough, sneezing, sore throat, and fatigue. For further queries get back to me.

Angina Care

M.B.B.S. , PG Diploma In Clinical Cardiology
Cardiologist, Delhi
Angina Care

Angina is a term used for chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart muscle. Angina is a symptom of coronary artery disease. Angina is typically described as squeezing, pressure, heaviness, tightness or pain in your chest.

Symptoms associated with angina include:

    Chest pain or discomfort
Pain in your arms, neck, jaw, shoulder or back accompanying chest pain
    Nausea
    Fatigue
    Shortness of breath
    Sweating
    Dizziness

The chest pain and discomfort common with angina may be described as pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain in the center of your chest. Some people with angina symptoms describe angina as feeling like a vise is squeezing their chest or feeling like a heavy weight has been placed on their chest. For others, it may feel like indigestion.

The severity, duration and type of angina can vary. It's important to recognize if you have new or changing chest discomfort. New or different symptoms may signal a more dangerous form of angina (unstable angina) or a heart attack.

Stable angina is the most common form of angina, and it typically occurs with exertion and goes away with rest. If chest discomfort is a new symptom for you, it's important to see your doctor to find out what's causing your chest pain and to get proper treatment. If your stable angina gets worse or changes, seek medical attention immediately.

Characteristics of stable angina

Develops when your heart works harder, such as when you exercise or climb stairs
Can usually be predicted and the pain is usually similar to previous types of chest pain you've had
Lasts a short time, perhaps five minutes or less
Disappears sooner if you rest or use your angina medication

Characteristics of unstable angina

    Occurs even at rest
Is a change in your usual pattern of angina
    Is unexpected
Is usually more severe and lasts longer than stable angina, maybe as long as 30 minutes
May not disappear with rest or use of angina medication
    Might signal a heart attack
    Thanks

Hye, thanks for the query. Firstly it is important to understand that weight /fat loss involves sensible eating. Just running as exercise without concentrating on eating right as per your body's needs is not going to help. You must know that losing weight is not about restriction or crashing your diet but about eating as per the body's needs. So, manage a nutritious diet fist so that you have the stamina to workout right. You have to eat the right foods at the right time. Eat small but frequent meals. Reduce your main meals by 1/4th the amount. Take a glass of lime water 10 minutes before meals. Avoid long gaps in between meals. Avoid junk as far as possible. Exercise at least 4 times a week. Lastly be committed. Remember it's a lifestyle change and not a one time thing. It's a balanced intake that will last you longer. All the so called diets will only give you muscle and bone loss. The fats will remain as it is. So, try to first follow this seemingly simple tips.
