Dear lybrater for gas acidity bloating. First of all diet will need some modifications. 1. Take food at proper time. Never miss a breakfast. Eat food slowly. 2. Have proper regular sleep. 3. No smoking. 4. Regarding food please take salad. Fruits. Any thing prepared by boiling, steam cooking or pressure cooking. Ie our rice chapatti and side dishes and other home made food are ok 5. Avoid food prepared in ovens like cake biscuits. Avoid anything deep or shallow fried. 6. Too much nuts and dry fruits should be avoided. Avoid too much butter cheese. No pickles. Try replacing dinner with salad and fruit 7. Limit coffee and tea to 2 a day. 8. Walk 45 min covering 4 km daily. Wait for 20 days to see the effect. If you need further guidance please contact me.

I was diagnosed with anal fissure 2 years back and now all of a sudden I am getting pain on right side of anus and buttocks. Once blood was noticed during passing of stool.

M.S.
General Surgeon, Jaipur
The main cause of anal fissure is constipation with passage of hard stools. You need a lot of liquids and fibres in your diet along with stool softeners to prevent it. You need to consult your surgeon and get a digital examination & proctoscopy to exactly identify your problem. Meanwhile you can try sitting in a tub of warm water for 15 min twice a day. Medicine can be prescribed only after examination.

I am suffering with gallbladder stone, is there any option to remove stone without operation.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Delhi
Gall bladder gets diseased due to an unhealthy diet and lifestyle. This leads to an imbalance of the acid-alkali balance in the body which causes the cholesterol to precipitate in the gall bladder leading to stone formation. Over time, these may get infected and lead to an acute inflammation, pain, fever etc. A stone may move ahead into a narrow passage or the duct and get stuck leading to severe agony. The safest and way that should be used to remove gall stones is removing it naturally, not just remove gall stones from gall bladder but also remove the cause of gall stones.

Anticholinergic and antispasmodic medications. These medications, such as hyoscyamine (Levsin) and dicyclomine (Bentyl), can help relieve painful bowel spasms. They are sometimes used for people who have bouts of diarrhea, but they can worsen constipation and can lead to other symptoms, such as difficulty urinating.

Health Tip on Acidity

General Physician (AM)
Alternative Medicine Specialist, Chandigarh
Health Tip on Acidity

Did you know that too much acidity in your body can cause pain, weight gain, fatigue, and other health problems? Or, that high protein “weight loss” diets can be harmful to your health due to their high levels of acidity? Even glands and organs can be impaired from excess acidity in your diet and lifestyle , here are 10 ways to conquer excess acidity to start feeling great:

1. Buy a Sack of Lemons
If you run only one errand today, make it a trip to your local health food or grocery store to buy a sack of lemons. Yes, a sack. Once you get home, squeeze the juice of half a lemon into a tall glass of water and drink immediately. This one step will help you to quickly reset your body chemistry.

2. Load Up on H2O
Drink at least 8 more cups of water throughout the day, preferably with lemon juice added to each. Lemon juice breaks down acid waste in your body and restores your blood and tissues to slightly alkaline levels.

3. Breathe Deeply
Take a few deep breaths. Oxygen will not only energize your brain but it will quickly help to balance the chemistry of your cells — and healthier cells mean a healthier body.

4. Take a Walk
Boost your oxygen levels even further by bundling up and heading out for a brisk walk. Exercise helps to quickly oxygenate your body. More oxygen in your blood means its better equipped to nourish every organ and tissue, which increases energy, mental clarity and moods.

5. Turn to Peppermint Tea
Instead of reaching for a caffeine jolt from acidic coffee, or cola, drink some peppermint tea. Research shows that peppermint provides a quick boost of energy that won’t send your energy levels plummeting a few hours later.

6. Eat Your Veggies
Make vegetables the focal point of your lunch and dinner meals. If you absolutely hate broccoli, don’t take it out on the entire veggie kingdom. Who wouldn’t enjoy some delicious mashed sweet potatoes.

7. Take an Almond Break
Snack on raw, unsalted almonds every few hours. Not only are they loaded with calcium, magnesium, protein and other important nutrients, their high fiber and protein content help to stabilize blood sugar levels.

8. Smoothie Nation
Enjoy a delicious smoothie instead of a sugary snack or breakfast. Start with some almond milk and add frozen berries, half a frozen banana and a heaping teaspoon of green powder like barley juice, spirulina, wheatgrass, or other green food supplement.

9. Go Green
Eat at least one large salad a day but be sure to avoid store-bought dressings full of rancid oils, preservatives, additives, and sugar.

10. Take a Cue from Vegetarians
Cut back on your meat consumption. Choose beans, fish, or raw nuts or seeds instead of acid-forming meat. Add beans to soups, stew, chili or wraps, or make them into delicious dips for a high-fiber, high-protein, high-nutrition source of energy.

Hello, Thanks for your query on Lybrate As per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this - 1) Do a physical examination by your treating Doctor and do few tests like this (GI ENDOSCOPY & MANOMETRY) 2) Discuss with your treating doctor about (pantoprazole) and (baclofen) and you can take it regularly without any problem. You can take few preventive measures which might help you- 1) Try to maintain a healthy weight. Excess weights put pressure on your abdomen, pushing up your stomach and causing acid to back up into your esophagus. If your weight is healthy, work to maintain it. If you are overweight or obese, work to slowly lose weight no more than (0.5 to 1 kilogram) a week. 2) Try to avoid tight-fitting clothing. Clothes that fit tightly around your waist put pressure on your abdomen and the lower esophageal sphincter. 3) Avoid foods and drinks that trigger heartburn. Everyone has specific triggers. Common triggers such as fatty or fried foods, tomato sauce, alcohol, chocolate, mint, garlic, onion, and caffeine may make heartburn worse. Avoid foods you know will trigger your heartburn. 4) TRy to eat smaller meals. Avoid overeating by eating smaller meals. 5) Don't lie down after a meal. Wait at least three hours after eating before lying down or going to bed. Elevate the head of your bed. If you regularly experience heartburn at night or while trying to sleep, put gravity to work for you. Place wood or cement blocks under the feet of your bed so that the head end is raised by 6 to 9 inches. 6) Don't smoke. Smoking decreases the lower esophageal sphincter's ability to function properly. Hope that helps.

Hello Doctor. Usually mucus come from chest from 8 months and yesterday I got ultrasound test and found grade 1 diffuse hepatic stenosis in my liver. So I would like to ask that such liver is the cause of my phulgum.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
If you have excess mucus forming you may have chronic sinusitis and liver will not cause mucus .Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, defined as the presence of macrovascular steatosis in the presence of less than 20 gm of alcohol ingestion per day, is the most common liver disease. It is most commonly associated with insulin resistance/type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity.
