Hi self-management may include using ice, stretching, wearing proper footwear and altering training (exercise) methods. Ice should be applied prior to and following activity for approximately 20 minutes. Try using a frozen bottle of water and gently rolling it under the arch and heel.

you are young girl, might be college going. Are you moderately built or thin built? Your BMI is alright. Main cause of back pain in your age group is muscle weakness, calcium and vitamin D deficiency or inappropriate posture. Detailed history will give proper diagnosis and treatment accordingly can be advised. You will do fine with some medicines and exercises.

Consult an orthopaedic doctor. Do leg ,knee ankle exercises under a physiotherapist. Do hot fomentation. Get serum calcium and vitamin D3 levels tested. Arflur twice a day after meals for 5 days may be taken. Do oil massage of lower limbs.

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretching. Do the cat/cow stretch.

Yesterday I went for ECG because of the pain in shoulder and back side of the left arm. My heart rate in ECG is 54 and BP, cholesterol everything is normal. My age is 29 and I am doing 15 min yoga posture everyday. Doctor said that is because of acidity and prescribed some acidity regulator pills and antacid. For normal adult is is from 60-100 beats per minute. In atheles it may be low like 54 as in your case.

I am a 46 year old male and my height is 5'9" and weight is 84 kg. Whenever I want to exercise, I have a feeling that crystals are stored in my joints and they give pain. I had two bad experiences of Kidney stones, which I got away with by drinking onion soup. Most of the time my Uric acid levels are high, about 7.5 which is alarming. Please suggest how the crystals in the joints get dissolved, so that I can play some sports which I am very much interested in.

uric acid is heterocyclic compounds of carbon , nitrogen, oxygen, and hydrogen. which cause gout. In high uric acid avoid few diets i.e. high purine-rich foods, milk products, protein foods, meat, dried beans, dried peas, mushrooms, whey proteins which are used in zym, alcohol, diuretic medicines. Eat balanced diet , eat banana, take amino acid rich diets, L- glutamine like supplements, whole grain, oats, green veg., low cholesterol foods, plenty of water in day time, Do test Kidney Function Test every 6 months to monitor levels of uric acid. Consult doctor always for medicines. Do not take medicines by self. Take tab. Zyloric 100 mg once a day. Tab. Ulracet sos for pain .

Avoid sitting Cross legged. Avoid Squatting- Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain.

Investigations advised - hb, tlc, dlc, esr, sugar f & pp, uric acid, vit d3 urine r/e x ray of the affected part. Anyway you may try- sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomentation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform me. For constipation take isogel husk 2 spoons daily at night x10 days.

Hello lybrate-user Sitting with your legs crossed can create the unintended consequence of compressing several blood vessels and nerves which travel through the area of the thigh, knee, and calf.  Nerve compression and restricted blood flow may cause localized pain and numbness.  The pain should quickly subside once your legs are uncrossed. Try pigeon pose yoga, gently massage the area with your hands, you can use hot packs to subsides pain. Take care.

The most common form of morning stiffness and pain is due to muscle imbalances and poor conditioning of the muscles themselves. Here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -while sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -find a mattress with back support. A good mattress should provide support for the natural curves and alignment of the spine. Medium-firm mattresses usually provide more back pain relief than firm mattresses. -do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back -avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -stretching and strengthening exercises are important. -a physiotherapist can tell you when to begin stretching and strengthening exercises and learn how to safely, easily, stretch and strengthen the weak and tight areas of your lower back and hips which cause pain while sleeping. Knee pain specially in winter can be due to rhumatoid arithritis. Please have your esr, ra factor & crp checked. For knee pain the best treatment course would be to undergo janu vasti at a panchakarma centre near you. After undergoing janu vasti, you shall be completely treated. If need the doc might prescribe you some ayurvedic medicines depending on your body type. Till then you can have drumstick soup daily. Also boil 2 pieces of garlic in 1 cup milk & 1 cup water. When 1 cup remains, strain & drink daily after adding 1 tsf cow ghee.

Hi lybrate-user, you can take help of chiropracticner or physiotherapist for proper positing while sitting for longer period. They will alao help with streching & strengthning of lumbar paraspinal muscles. Despite of all this effort with no to least help, either visit a pain specialist or orthopedician in your city to look at things in detail for diagnosis of your condition & further treatment.

First of all you need to reduce your weight. Visit your nearest physiotherapist and take treatment - ift, us, swd for next 10 days regularly followed by back strengthening exercises. Don't bent forward, don't lift heavy weight, do hot fomentation, sit straight with proper support, sleep on hard bed.

I am 36 years old . My left side chest is paining (like heart attack) since 1 year. All reports of heart field (tmt, ecg, ecco) are normal . What should I do? There is no pro. Of heart some doctors want me to sicretrist .and some told that it is muscular pain .I m taking all type of treatments of heart, stomach,muscular pain, from 1 year .but no relief tell me . You maybe most probably suffering from gastritis or gastro esophageal reflux disease. You have to avoid spicy and fried foods. Also avoid junk food and fast food. If your problems are worse, you need to take an ecg and take medications. Consult me in private for prescription medications.

Hi do your supplement corse of vitamin d3 coz it very low level. Drink more n more water. Don't exert. Go for physiotherapy treatment use ift there. Do low intance exercise suggest by your physio. Do hot fermentation.
