Investigations advised - hb, tlc, dlc, esr, sugar f & pp, uric acid, vit d3 urine r/e x ray of the affected part. Anyway you may try- sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful do hot fomentation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If no relief in 4_5 days, then inform again.

Kindly show me photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Kindly take biod3 max 1 tab dailyx10 paracetamol 250mg od & sos x5days do back (spine)/shoulder/knee exercises make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take do not ignore it. It could be beginning of a serious problem. If no relief in 4_5 days, then contact me again.

Disc Related Back Pain - Symptoms & Physiotherapy

You might be an elite athlete or just a commoner. There is always a possibility for you to develop back pain while carrying out your daily activities. You might not be aware, but regular activities—like sitting at the computer, running on the treadmill or simply crawling into your bed for a good night's sleep—can affect the health of your spine. You are always at the risk of damaging your spine. These damages lead to back pain. It has been found that faulty postures can cause back pain by causing straining of the back muscles, injuring the tendons and damaging the vertebrae or ligaments. Back pain can be caused due to the overuse of a particular activity or for undertaking a new activity. Besides all these possibilities, most people put the blame on their discs for back pain.

What Are The Discs?

The human spine is composed of 24 bony vertebrae. These are placed one on top of the other. There is a thin intervertebral disc between each vertebrae. These discs look like jam doughnuts. They are made up of a hard outer shell known as the annulus fibrosis. They have a soft, jelly-like inner core known as the nucleus pulposus. They are shock absorbers.

What Happens To The Discs When An Injury Occurs?

The jelly-like soft core in the discs can often get shifted as a result of the accident or injury. Thus, the discs become a reason behind back pain. The pain could be due to the problems with the disc while carrying out tasks like —

  1. Prolonged sitting

  2. Bending

  3. Lifting

  4. Twisting

  5. Pulling

Symptoms Of Disc-Related Pain:

Symptoms tend to vary due to the nature of the injury and the damage caused. However, some common symptoms have been listed below:

  1. Localised back pain

  2. Pain in thighs, lower legs and feet

  3. Tingling sensations

  4. Numbness or muscular weakness

Treatment-

It is best to consult a doctor to know about the treatment needed for back pain related to disc. Initial treatment after detection of the problem includes the following ways:

  1. Intake of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and pain medication.

  2. Application of heat and ice packs.

  3. Physiotherapy.

  4. Home exercise program as suggested by the doctor.

  5. Practicing of core and lumbar strengthening exercises.

One must stop movements that aggravate the pain and don’t take difficult physical activities. You must take adequate rest to set things right.

Do You Need Any Surgery?

It is not always needed for all disc related problems. Most issues with the disc vanish after a week. Surgery is sought only after nonsurgical treatments prove useless. The decision must be taken by a doctor. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a physiotherapist.

Due to age factor muscle and joint are weak so tk calcium supplements and physiotherapy treatment and gentle movement of spine and stretching exercise of legs but gradually arthritis symptoms possible.

When I get up in the morning my finger joints don' t bend. They are stiff and painful. The ring finger on my right hand gets stuck at right angle many times. And needs to be manually pulled back to position.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. Stiffness is a particular symptom and usually present in inflammatory disorders. Are you suffering from any inflammatory disease for which you are taking any treatment? your finger getting stuck at right angles with subsequent difficulty in straightening it can be due to swelling in tendon sheath which we call as trigger fingers. I have very pain in my knee I tried from many doctor but it still exists what I have to do please give me best answer.
At the age of 24 you are suffering from knee pain which means it could be due to any internal injury like cartilage etc for which you are not aware about or pain may be due to deficiency of vit d or uric acid. So in general I would advise you to please go for proper investigation so that the reason can be diagnosed. In the mean time to get relief from pain and stiffness please follow the physio measures: precautions- 1. Avoid prolong standing. Standing on one leg or running for time being if its painful. 2. Take care while bending your knees, it should not directly strain your joint. 3. Avoid heavy weight lifting. 4. Wear shoes with good arch support, do not wear high -healed shoes. 5. Use the correct positions during activities so that you do not strain your muscles. 6. Try to change your sitting position every 15 min so that it should not give strain on your knees. 7. Avoid sitting on floor with both knees bending. 8. Take diet rich in calcium like milk, dairy products, banana etc which will enhance your calcium and gives you strength. Treatment - 1. Make use of hot packs and ice packs alternately. Apply with the ration of 3: 2 which means 3 min ice then 2 min heat. Ice has very good results in relieving pain than heat so combination of both gives you complete relax. As ice reduces pain and heat stimulates blood flow around the affected area. 2. After this using your thumb massage your knee area gently. Relax for 5 minutes. 3. Do some knee (quads) isometrics atleast 10-15 times with the hold of 5 -10 seconds. Also you can do some knee strengthening in the mean time like - hams sets, knee bending and straitening, heel raising, bridging, squatting, lunge etc. Lot of exercises are there. The above treatment will give pain relief and discomfort. If possible please contact any physio who will study your daily routine, symptoms, degree of pain etc and accordingly will give you the best treatment plan. Along with it give you our pain relieving modalities like ift, us vacuum therapy for 10-12 days with mobilisation exercises. Good luck and get well soon.

Hi when I use my hands for sometime like when I use a vegetable peeler, knife, etc. The base of the palm below the thumb starts hurting, this happens on both hands and the pain stops as soon as I stop the activity. Wht is causing this pain. Is it related to the wrist. Or just thumb.

Tea For Swollen Legs
There are many reasons as to why legs may be swollen.
Menstruation
An unhealthy diet
Pregnancy
Poor blood circulation
Excessive body weight is all reasons individuals may have swollen legs.

Parsley Tea is wonderful for helping to get rid of excessive fluid in the body.

For the recipe you will need parsley roots and leaves and water.

To begin, chop the parsley very finely.

Add 5 teaspoons of parsley to half a liter of fresh water and cook for 5 minutes.

Remove from heat source, and let the tea steep for 20 minutes.

Strain well. Drink the tea three times per day until the swollen leg condition resides.

According your age x-ray must. You can tk muscle relaxant medicine and heat fermentation twice a day and do spinal extension exercise avoid forward bending long sitting, standing and lift heavy weight if it works then ok otherwise physiotherapy must.
