I have ulcers in mouth please suggest what can i do?

BDS
Dentist,
There are so many causes of mouth ulcers like- -stress or tissue injury is thought to be the cause of simple mouth ulcers. -certain foods, including citrus or acidic fruits and vegetables (such as lemons, oranges, pineapples, apples, figs, tomatoes and strawberries), can trigger a mouth ulcer. -sometimes a sharp tooth surface also trigger mouth ulcers. -some cases of complex mouth ulcers are caused by an underlying health condition, such as an impaired immune system; nutritional problems, such as vitamin b-12, zinc, folic acid, or iron deficiency and gastrointestinal tract disease, such as coeliac disease and crohn's disease. -when you first quit smoking, you may develop more mouth ulcers than normal, but this is temporary. Usually ulcer heals by itself only within 1 week. You can take'becosule capsule' once in a day for 1 week for faster recovery. Temporarily you can apply mucopain gel over ulcer for relief.

Whenever I clean my teeth with toothbrush. Bleeding occurs at the front part of mouth through gums below front teeth's.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Whenever I clean my teeth with toothbrush. Bleeding occurs at the front part of mouth through gums below front teeth's.
- use a soft toothbrush -- and brush properly! brush your teeth for at least two minutes twice a day and after meals. Hard brushing can further damage the soft tissues of your mouth. - floss at least once a day and be sure to floss beyond the gum line to remove more plaque. - control bleeding by applying pressure to the area with a cold compress. - rinse with salt water or hydrogen peroxide to keep the area clean. Avoid mouthwashes that contain alcohol, which can dry out your mouth. - stay away from smoking and other tobacco products, which can aggravate bleeding gums. - eat a balanced diet and limit snacking between meals. Carbohydrates and sugars feed dental plaque. - try an oral irrigation device, commonly known as a" water pick, to clear debris from around the gum line. - you may need deep cleaning along with surgical curettage or gum strengthening procedure. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. Advance procedures can be done with laser.

My teeth are disarranged what should I do?

Teeth being disarranged (or mal-aligned) can be due to a variety of causes ranging from hereditary to habit induced (like thumb sucking) there are a few different options that you can choose from if you would like to get them realigned or straightened 1. If you are in the period of a growth spurt (ie. The teenage growth spurt) you can get a myofunctional appliance to correct the anomaly 2. If you have crossed the growth spurt, then you will need to use fixed orthodontic appliance (normally called braces or'clips') for the fixed orthodontic appliance, you can choose from a variety of choices 1. Contemporary braces (the most common type of braces [clips as it is called by many]) 2. Ceramic braces (the ones working professionals or conscious people use [it does not show much metal] 3. Clear braces (the ones working professionals or conscious people use [only a thin wire is seen]) 4. Lingual braces (the ones working professionals or conscious people use [brackets placed on the inner surface of the teeth])

The inner lining of my mouth has become very sensitive since past 5 years. I find difficulty in eating spicy items, rough items like papad and hot drinks. All my blood test results are normal. Vit B12 levels are near the lower limit , around 250.

Dentist, Pune
The delicate gums can be due to plaque accumulation. Some times it takes the place deep into gums which cannot be cleaned by brushing. Another cause can be due to vitamin deficiency you can take supplements as prescribed by your dentist.

I am 57 years old male. My one tooth started shaking before 25 days. It was paining. After 2 to 3 days l pulled it out. Paining stooped. But after 15 days the gum pain started at the spot. I consulted a dentist. In x-ray a small broken tooth is remaining inside and there is infection. Doctor gave me antibiotics and pain killers and told me to remove the remaining tooth by operation. Is it necessary to remove the part of the tooth as there is no paining after completing the antibiotic course.
