What exactly is a spine block injection? Will it work long-term for low back pain due to disc problems?

What exactly is a spine block injection? Will it work long-term for low back pain due to disc problems?
If you have chronic back pain, it means that you’ve had the pain for over three months. Injections are used to deliver a combination of local anesthetic and steroid into or near your spine to help ease chronic back pain. Sometimes they’re used to help identify the source of back pain by blocking pain in certain areas. Success rates vary depending on the primary diagnosis and whether or not the injections are being used primarily for diagnosis.
