If a women’s menstrual cycle varies from 26days to 31days cycle, The shortest cycle (26days) minus18days=8th day. The longest cycle (31days) minus 10days=21st day Thus, 8th to 21st day of each cycle counting from first day of menstrual period is considered as fertile period. That is UNSAFE PERIOD. Period other than this fertile period in a menstrual cycle is considered as SAFE PERIOD.

Hello, PCOS or pcod s a problem in which a woman's hormones are out of balance. It can cause problems with your periods and make it difficult to get pregnant. PCOS also may cause unwanted changes in the way you look. If it isn't treated, over time it can lead to serious health problems, such as diabetes and heart disease. The most common symptoms are: Acne. Weight gain and trouble losing weight. Extra hair on the face and body. Thinning hair or even hair loss on scalp. Irregular periods. Often women with PCOS have fewer than nine periods a year. Some women have no periods. Others have very heavy bleeding. Fertility problems. Many women who have PCOS have trouble getting pregnant (infertility), depression. Regular exercise, healthy foods, and weight control are the key treatments for PCOS. Treatment (hormonal) can reduce unpleasant symptoms and help prevent long-term health problems. Try to fit in moderate activity and/or vigorous activity often. Brisk Walking, jogging, dance or aerobics are great exercise that most people can do. Eat heart-healthy foods. This includes lots of vegetables, fruits, nuts, beans, and whole grains. It limits foods that are high insaturated fat, such as meats, cheeses, and fried foods. Most women who have PCOS can benefit from losing weight. Even losing 5 kg may help get your hormones in balance, regulate your menstrual cycle and can make you ovulate.

I am 23 year old and married I have been doing sex from six month continuously but no pregnancy. Please help.

I am 23 year old and married I have been doing sex from six month continuously but no pregnancy. Please help.
Please note that getting pregnant sometimes becomes herculean task. It is strange that people who do not want it, it is there biggest fear. However months of time is not a time period to get really worried. Maybe you're just really eager to get pregnant: please note that you can not predict a time frame and sometimes it takes time to conceive. Have patience and here are some tips which can help: tip #1: the biggest secret to getting pregnant faster is knowing when you ovulate (release an egg from your ovary). Think of the egg as a bull's-eye and the sperm as arrows. One of the arrows has to hit the bull's-eye in order for you to get pregnant. If you notice that you have irregular periods over the course of several months, pinpointing ovulation could be difficult. Ask your doctor for advice. Tip #2: once you know when your egg will be released from your ovary, you can plan to have sex during your most fertile days: from three days before ovulation through the day of ovulation. (starting a little sooner can't hurt; some women have gotten pregnant from sex that happened six days before they ovulated.) if you have a regular cycle of 28 days, days 12 to 16 days are said to be a woman's most fertile period counting from the first day of cycle. Tip #3: sperm have their best shot at fertilizing an egg when they're healthy, strong, and plentiful. Several things can help your partner get his sperm supply in fighting shape: - cut back on alcohol (studies show that drinking daily can reduce testosterone levels and sperm counts and raise the number of abnormal sperm) - quit tobacco and recreational drugs (these can cause poor sperm function) - eat enough of certain key nutrients? like zinc, folic acid, calcium, and vitamins c and d? that help create plentiful, strong, wiggly sperm - avoid hot tubs, saunas, and hot baths, since heat kills sperm.

I am 22 years old. I have pcos detected in my ultrasound. I had heavy periods after missing one period which continued for a month n stopped after taking regestrone. I was close with my friend before my periods missed. We were in our undergarments and very close to each other but the whole time we dint remove our clothes and he also dint ejaculate. Is there any possibility of me being pregnant? Am I pregnant? I did not have any pregnant symptoms. Is it due to hormonal imbalance? I also had a 2 day spotting before start of my periods, which usually come.

Hi, my wife is 32 years and we are happily married for 4 years now. We have a 3.6 years old kid. My wife is tested positive for next pregnancy, according to scanning report she is 9 weeks now. With deep regret we would like to discontinue second child for another 2 years. Our regular doctor has recommended surgical removal. Bus, we are little skeptical. Is this the only option or can the pregnancy be terminated using the medication. Just need a second opinion on this at the earliest.

During last week of 9th month pregnancy how baby moves. What all problems are there during that time.

During last week of 9th month pregnancy how baby moves. What all problems are there during that time.
Movement in the 9th Month While many women feel that their babies move less toward the end of the pregnancy, babies actually continue to move even during labor. As babies run out of room, they can change the way they move and their mothers may feel them differently, but you should feel movement every day. If you feel that your baby is moving more frequently during the ninth month, you may just be more aware of the movement because the baby is bigger or the baby may have changed her active times to match the times you are awake and aware of her movements.

If a girl do first time sex in her life, then is it necessary that she will bleed for the first time. Does bleeding happens with the every girl,

MD - Obstetrtics & Gynaecology, MBBS
Gynaecologist,
No. The bleeding at first sex happens if the hymen is rigid and gets torn. Many a girls have an elastic hymen and some have a central hole thats good enough to allow entry to penis at sex hence it may not break" get torn" at first sex. The basic issue is trust. If you trust your partner is a virgin then believe her word for it. Many a ladies also bleed after getting used to for vaginal sex, due to rough sex or when tears occur in the vagina due to forceful sex. Or when their hormones are low and vaginal lining is dry and liable to getting cracked up so blood first sex is not the criteria to judge a person's virginity.

Hi, I'm a doing my final year in engineering and lately I've started masturbating and I'm still a virgin. When I masturbate I only simulated the outer walls of the uterus and dared not to touch the hymen thing and now a question raised in my head which bothers me alot its that the hymen is not broken and I masturbate then from where does all the discharge flow out I mean it's blocked by the hymen right? Then from where does it go? Please answer me at the quickest I'm really worried alot.

Lybrate-user this question stuck into your mind now when you started masturbating but why not then when you started having your menstrual periods every month. Discharge also flows out the same way as from where your menstrual blood flows every month. Actually hymen is half moon shaped and small hole one or more than one can be present (it depends upon individual to individual) on the hymen which allows the vaginal and uterine discharges to pass out. I think you got it clear now-----------------------

PORN Is Not a Source for Sex Education

MD, BHMS
Sexologist, Mumbai
PORN Is Not a Source for Sex Education

With the advent of the internet and it's free nature, pornography has become one of the most viewed explicit contents of the internet. Though not made for adolescents, pornography is viewed by a large number of teenagers and young adults. Sex education is highly necessary for teens and young adults and pornography can never be substituted for sex education. Read more to find all about it.

  1. Pornography is an act: The porn industry like all other industries exists for profitability and actors who indulge in explicit sexual activities on screen are professionals and the scenes are entirely scripted. The purpose of sex education, which is to provide knowledge about a person's own sexuality is lost in porn. Similar to romantic movies, which are far off from reality, pornography is also a fantasy.
  2. Pornography is focused on the act itself: Sex education is not just learning about sexual activities or preferences, but also about learning reproductive sex, safe sex, reproductive health, birth control and also emotional relations and responsibilities. Pornography is graphic by its nature and does not provide any knowledge on these subjects, which are of utmost importance as comprehensive sex education is necessary for every single person.
  3. Pornography gives out the wrong message: The different positions or ways, which actors perform in pornography might be admirable, but it should be kept in mind that pornography has a purpose and it is not providing sex education to adolescents and young adults. When engaging in sexual activities with your partner, their level of comfort, their consent, and their preferences matter the most. So knowledge gained from pornography is in most cases faulty. Also keep in mind that there is a stark difference in what is shown in porn and what happens in real life.
