It seems like you are experiencing Depression secondary to some stress. Stress and psychological problems presents with a range of physical or bodily feature (also known as psychosomatic symptoms). Herein, individuals will typically have gastric problems, body aches and pain, sleep disturbances, lethargy, tiredness and recurring minor ailments like infection, sinusitis. Not all depression require medication or counselling, but talking to a professional can help you understand underlying problems and stressors. Without addressing the root of the problems, it will recur after resolution. In the mean time, I think you should take up some form of exercise or fitness program at local gym or yoga centre. Exercise is known to be very efffective in improving wellbeing, motivation, enthusiasm and energy levels. It is proven to be effective in mild to moderate depression and anxiety state. Yoga and meditation is well established in bringing harmony to mind and body, thereby improving resilience and threshold for ailment and stress. Other tips inclused- healthy diet, have a structured routine on day to day basis, 7-8 hours of sleep, sociallise, travel, read and spend quality time with family and close friends. People with strong network of freinds tend to be healthier. Besides, reduce work hours and work related commute. If you drink alcohol then cut it down to once a week and consume small amount. A disciplined life is a healthier and happier life. Wish you all the very best for a fresh start.

I am suffering from premature ejaculation. I lack stamina. What should I do to improve my stamina and improve my time in bed.

Premature ejaculation is primarily linked to anxiety and performance pressure. Try and delay ejaculation during masturbation, gradually. This will give you confidence during actual intercourse. Practice makes a man perfect. If you have a partner then talk to her before and during the act, prolong foreplay and be under no pressure to perform or penetrate. It should all flow and happen naturally. I suggest you read on "Star Squeeze" technique and "Stop Start" method, besides considering delay spray, which is easily available in the local pharmacy. Life style changes, reducing consumption of alcohol, relaxation, exercise, yoga, will all enhance physical wellbeing and positively contribute to psychological wellness and confidence. Aerobic exercise or running or swimming will increase your stamina and endurance. In term treatment, a low dose anti-anxiety medication from SSRI group of meds may help. Most importantly, you will benefit from seeking one 2one consultation with a psychiatrist to explore other reasons and underlying psychological problems contributing to your reported difficulty. Best wishes.

From the brief information you have provided, it would appear that you have suffered from mixed anxiety and depressive features and its consequences (including loss of sex drive and confidence, etc.) for many years. Hopefully, the doctors you have seen, have ruled out physical causes like neurological & thyroid problems amongst others. Mental health and emotional problems warrant an integrated approach using a combination of medicine and psychotherapy. Only prescribing of medicine cannot help one to understand and overcome pain and the causes for it. It is important to engage in psychotherapy sessions to get an insight into the current problems and underlying causes, as well as a solution to remedy it. Remember, knowledge and awareness can empower you. I suggest you see a psychiatrist with interest and experience in psychotherapy or see a psychologist alongside psychiatrist. While you problems are very common, they are easily treatable provide a planned and compressive approach is adopted.

Hi I have been smoking for about a year normally 4-5 cigarette but for a 3 month period I smoker 6-7 last year in November I had swollen lymph nodes but they went away without any treatment now I smoke 1 or 2 and swollen lymph nodes around neck region have come again and they hurt just after smoking immediately is it throat cancer or something.

Smokers are prone for upper airway and chest infection, which can lead to swelling of the lymph nodes. I suggest you cut down or consider quitting smoking, ideally with professional help and / or nicotine substitution therapy. Research suggest that the chances of successfully quitting smoking is high with help and professional input and low without. Also it would be important to see an EBT specialist for further evaluation and examination. In the mean time steam inhalation and hot water eagle may ease of the inflammation / infection the throat.

Nicotine in tobacco has a stimulating effect on intestinal transit and helps bowel movements. Therefore on quitting smoking, constipation is one of the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal. Don't worry, this will resolve gradually in 1-2 months after quitting. Meanwhile, as it is unpleasant, I suggest you should have an adequate intake of fluids - at least 1½ liters per day, and eat fibre diet. If that is still not enough you may need to consider taking a laxative, preferably a fiber-based one. Remember, quitting smoking is the best thing you will ever do. Constipation is only a very small price to pay.

From your query, I understand that you are experiencing mood disturbances with anxiety. Loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting and drifting mind can all be part of depression and/or anxiety. I suggest you consult on one 2 one basis to understand underlying reason for it and how you remedy your difficulty. Depression is very common and easily treatable provided you understand it and find way to work thro it. Seeking help can aid in earlier recovery. Best wishes.

Regular mastrubation is a healthy activity and there is no frequency at which you can starting loosing the juice. There is no correlation between frequency of mastrubation and sperm count. 'Early discharge' as you call it, is otherwise known as "Premature ejaculation" It is primarily link to anxiety and performance pressure. Try and delay ejaculation during mastrubation, gradually. Practice make a man perfect. I suggest you read on star Squeeze technique and Stop Start method, besides considering delay spray, which are easily available in local pharmacy. My younger brother suffering from bipolar depression. Age 17 years old. Any ayurveda medicine.

My younger brother suffering from bipolar depression. Age 17 years old. Any ayurveda medicine.
Bipolar Disorder is a form of severe mental illness, characterised by episodes of depression and Hypomania/mania (elevated mood). For a clear diagnosis, initial episodes must occur in absence of brain condition, head injury, or illicit drugs misuse. Later episode may be precipitated by drugs use or other medical conditions like infection etc. I think Bipolar disorder is often misdiagnosed and improperly treated. Equally, if someone has clear cut diagnosis, then then must receive adequate and carefully monitored allopathic treatment with mood stabilisers like sodium valproate or lithium or low dose neuroleptics like olanzapine or quetiapine. I don't think Ayurvedic treatment will work of this disorder. I recommend you have your brother evaluated by a qualified psychiatrist to establish diagnosis. Thereafter he will need medicinal & psychotherapeutic intervention to engage him in treatment plan, comply with medicine regime and attend appointments, bring about life style change and engage in low stimulating activity to reduce risk to hypomanic or manic relapse. Family will also need support, education and empowerment to help themselves and help him. Bipolar disorder is a complex and complicated disorder but treatable if addressed in a professional manner and cared with a compassionate approach. You can read many of my articles on mental health problems on www.roshanjain.com. If he wishes to consult me in Mumbai or Bangalore then visit appointment page of my website and book appointments. Equally, you can do so via Lybrate. Best wishes.

I am sorry about your loss. You seem to be going thro "grief reaction" which is normal and experienced by all after loss of loved one. If the relationship was unpleasant and in turmoil then the grief can be prolonged and become depressive illness. I would suggest you work thro this loss by talking to friends and family, and explore your feeling. OfCourse that can be difficult sometimes, therefore seeing an independent and objective psychologist or psychiatric consultation may be helpful.

You appear to have premature ejaculation. See a psychiatrist who can help you with medicine belonging to SSRI (anti-anxiety / antidepressant category) which can reduce premature ejaculation. Equally, consider Stop-start method and star squeeze technique (read on internet) and Delay sprays, which reduce sensation and delay ejaculation. Couple therapy session would also help immensely. Focus on foreplay rather than penetration. Best wishes
