I have been getting a thick brown discharge from my vagina. It has a foul smell. I have been getting it since the 5th of October. And my periods are due on the 15th of october. Could you please help me? I'm very tensed. There are no other symptoms.
I want to get pregnant I have one 5 year son what should I do my periods are also irregular my hormones test are also normal anf I do not have any pco bit I have gallstone does it effect in my pregnancy.
These days a life without a smartphone seems impossible. It has created a world of constant involvement for each of us .We all admit to the fact that we use our smartphones throughout the day from early in the morning till bedtime to ingest information.
This revolutionary device has substituted many traditional alternatives such as night watches, alarm clocks, calendars, flashlights, nightstand books, etc. Hence, most of us leave our smartphones to charge at night, right beside us on bed, for ease of accessibility. A time even when we donot accept to stay away from it. But this is not advisable for many reasons.
Reasons not to sleep with your smartphones on the bed
Substantially less sleep
Studies show that our constant need and ability to stay connected creates stresses of its own. These studies provide evidence to show that the radiation smartphones emit affects the quality of our sleep.

Smartphones emit a certain type of ?Blue Light?, which is known to significantly affect the production and effectiveness of the sleep inducing human hormone called Melatonin.
This may be because blue light emits wavelengths similar to daylight, which can make our bodies think its daytime, at any time.
Much like standard light bulbs or fluorescent strips, mobile LED lights too aggravates the production of sleep producing Melatonin and stimulates the pigments called melanopsin within the cells in the retina, passing on signals to the brain.
Even a pulse of light lasting for as less as 0.12 seconds could delay the body clock and trigger the body into an alert mode thereby affecting the relaxation needed for Sleep.
Better yet, keep your smartphone in another room while you slumber. Radiations interfere with our body?s ability to repair itself from any damage suffered throughout the day.
Increase in irritability and stress
Anything that disrupts the quality of our sleep impacts our attentiveness and irritability in the short and long term. In fact, sleeping with smartphones is especially bad for kids and teenagers who typically need more sleep than adults, (and who statistically sleep with their phones close to their heads more than adults). It can cause mood and personality changes, ADHD-like symptoms, and depression in kids.

Some mandatory Precautions to be taken

Limit the number of calls you make before sleep.
Limit the length of your calls soon before bed time.
Use hands-free devices (wired cell phone headsets or wireless ones like Bluetooth) , in case a bed time call is absolutely unavoidable.
If you are not using a hands-free device, put the cell on ?speaker phone? or hold the phone away from your ear.
If you have a habit of listening to music or playing games on the mobile phone during leisurely night time, put your phone on ?airplane mode? when possible. Airplane mode means email, Internet, and phone can?t be used, but you can listen to music or play games on the phone.
Prefer messaging, instead of talking, before going to sleep.
Go over these guidelines with your children and limit their cell phone use during sleep time.
No doubt, the matter of sleeping with our smartphones is part of a larger issue we face as a society by being engaged to all our devices 24/7. But, productive sleep in particular is important in helping our bodies recover from the stresses of the day. Being concerned and checking our phones before and during sleep, along with the fact that phones emit radiation, means that attaining a state of deep sleep is difficult. Henceforth, little by little, we should make a conscious effort to limit the negative effects of sleeping close to our phones every night.

When a woman's vaginal muscles squeeze tightly, or slams shut making it impossible or extremely painful when penetration with the penis or any other object is attempted, we describe that situation as 'vaginismus'. It's an involuntary contraction of muscles surrounding the vaginal opening. It is different from voluntarily squeezing the vaginal muscles out of fear. Vaginismus happens out of the person's control. In other words, the opening shuts automatically, when intercourse or insertion of a medical instrument is attempted. Penetration would not happen; the attempt would end up in pain for the woman. In the case of intercourse, she might describe the experience as a feeling that the man is 'hitting a wall'. Usually, women having vaginismus would fear genital examination and disallow it, especially inserting any object -even a finger, leave alone the speculum. There are cases where women kicked the staff, jumped off the examination table and ran out. Ridiculous as it might appear, it's a genuine morbid fear for the woman.
Why does it happen?
No physical cause is identified with vaginismus. It's considered mostly psychogenic. In some women, it can be traced to a previous painful intercourse, or a rough and injurious attempt at intercourse, and severe anxiety. Some are severely apprehensive and anticipate pain and injury during first intercourse. I have known a woman who was terrified watching her sister deliver a baby, and decided to never conceive. The subconscious association of intercourse with pregnancy used to trigger anxiety in her whenever intercourse is attempted and resulted in vaginismus.
How can it be resolved?
It can be resolved, though it's a little time-consuming therapeutic process. It is not cured with medicines. And, there is no need for surgery. A sex therapist skilled in treating vaginismus, can help the couple resolve their problem through therapeutic suggestions and counseling, without touching the client (I mention this because several clients keep asking us anxiously "do you have to examine me?", and feeling so much relieved on hearing a "no!").
How does the therapist go about it?
- Educating the couple: The couple – especially the woman needs awareness about her basic anatomy and function of the sex organs. what each is meant for, how one should touch, explore and handle them.
- Exercises: During sex therapy, she will be given various homework exercises that include:
- exploring genitals to increase her level of comfort with the genital area.
- using graded vaginal trainers to be inserted into the vagina gently and gradually in a non-threatening way at her own pace, and
- controlling and relaxing vaginal muscles, and stretching the vagina.
- Relaxation: Getting yourself to relax progressively is a matter of exploration and touching, which can help you understand the kind of touch and the exact areas that make you tense. During sex therapy, you may be taught a technique known as progressive relaxation. The purpose is to get gradually comfortable with insertion.
- Sensate focus: This is a part of sex therapy and involves your partner. In this method, you will be asked to abstain from sex and touch each other without going to the genitals and other private parts. This will help in better arousal and sexual stimulation, especially for those women who, for fear of intercourse, also experience arousal problems.
Surgery: Surgery is rarely indicated in vaginismus, unless a physical problem is contributing to it or when there is a need to enlarge the vagina. This may be necessary if a previous surgery has left scar tissue making vaginal entry painful, such as an episiotomy during childbirth.
