I m having pain in my gum because of wisdom tooth, and my gum is reddish what should I do?

I m having pain in my gum because of wisdom tooth, and my gum is reddish what should I do?
Pain in gums of wisdom teeth is called pericoronitis. Due to lack of space in your jaw, your wisdom tooth may be partially out due to which a flap of your gum must be covering it. This flap causes inflammation. Please consult for a detailed treatment plan.

A major cause of tooth sensitivity is root exposure. We need more investigations with clinical examination to decide upon treatment. You may need cleaning along with desensitizing procedures and / or artificial enamel filling or root canal treatment. Advance procedures can be done with laser too. Until then apply a desensitizing paste (sensodyne tooth paste) on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min until you brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight will be better. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months.

Follow these tips to relieve some pain; 1. Use a soft toothbrush when brushing your teeth. 2. Avoid hard, sharp, spicy and acidic foods and drinks until the ulcer heals? stick to soft foods that are easier to chew. 3. Avoid things that you think may be triggering your ulcers, such as specific foods. 4. Reduce your stress levels by doing an activity that you find relaxing, such as yoga, meditation or exercise. Please visit your nearby dentist to knw the causes for the ulcer. Based on your clinical examination, dentist will be able to help you with medications and mouthwash.

Badly gum decay problem. What medicine I should take to recover my gums problem? Please ans.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Badly gum decay problem. What medicine I should take to recover my gums problem? Please ans.
Sir, decay happens in teeth. With gums, they can get inflamed, i.e. Swelling, bleeding will be there and in severe cases the gums will recede and expose the tooth. SO please visit a dentist, clean your teeth, as the most common cause of gum problem is accumulation of food particles over a long period between the teeth and gums. After that depending on the severity of your condition, your dentist will give you medication, or other treatment procedures for making your gums healthy.

Hi, I suffer, a medium, sometimes, severe toothache while chewing food. It is a molar teeth, the big wide one. My dentist suggested me to take an x ray. I took an x ray, she examined and told me that, "actually there are 3 roots of teeth, and one of my root is bent so it is aching, I advise you to go through cleaning. Q1) What is cleaning? What are its side effect? Q2) if one my root is bent why does it only aches while chewing? Q3) whats your opinion? Q$0 What should I do?

Hello m sorry but watever diagnosis your dentist has made is not clear. Firstly a bent root doesn't cause that much pain. Yes if it's your wisdom tooth (last molar tooth) then it might cause medium to severe pain .wisdom tooth are rarely in normal position and because of their abnormal position they cause pain while eating and while opening and closing mouth. But if it's first or second molar then their might be some decay/ infection in the tooth because of which you are experiencing pain. Also cleaning is not the treatment in your case. So I suggest you take a second opinion. Also take your x-ray along. Regards.

Saliva is one of our body's strongest soldiers battling bacteria. Foods that promote saliva production, such as tart or sour foods including lemons, limes, cherries and cranberries, can help your body fight bacteria in your mouth. Drinking water is another great way to produce saliva, clear bacteria and cleanse your oral cavity. Foods that have a high water content also help to thwart the process of decay by diluting the sugars in the foods you consume. In other words, eat your fruits and veggies.

Hello doctor, I have tooth ache from last two days. I can't eat properly. Pls suggest what should I do?
Teeth pain can be due to decay or fractured teeth, gum infection or sensitivity. Get your teeth x-rayed n go for needful treatment. For decay, you might require rct n cap or removal n replacement by implants or bridge. For gum infection, go for scaling and polishing of teeth. For sensitivity, use desensitizing toothpaste twice daily.

Brush twice a day, keep tooth problems away: brushing twice a day removes the tiny left out food particles from the mouth and keeps it fresher and cleaner.

"For How long a patient has to wear plates to keep the changes in teeth remains , if his/her teeths gets proper in shape and the spaces are disappeared after wearing plates for 2 years " and yet the patient sees a very little spaces to appear when he stop using plates. ???

PG Fellowship In Microdentistry, BDS
Dentist, Thane
It depends on the reason for which you are wearing the plates(reason for which the orthodontic treatment is done). It has to be worn for a period of 1 year but it varies on case to case. if u see the spaces appearing again you can go for a permanent lingual retainers to stablize the teeth which will be of a great help.
