Hi Lybrate user Weight gain is very slow process. For weight gain you need to follow a strict food regime and exercise regime patiently for a long time. Weight gain through increasing lean body mass is healthy and sustainable for long time. Few tips for weight gain 1.Have calorie and protein dense food 2. Eat small and frequent meals 3. Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. If diabetes is present then first and foremost is to take appropriate modern medicines to control blood glucose, plus take a restricted diet that provides exact amount of calories based on ideal body weight, extent of daily exercise and blood glucose levels. Then one can look at so called other supportive remedies as mentioned by you. Blood glucose should be: FBG <100 mg, PP 160 to 170 mg & HbA1c%<7. If you have any further doubts please do come back. I am almost 18 years old. But my weight is as like as a 14 years old boy. I am vegetarian. How can I gain more weight?
You can include thick fruit milkshakes (ex mango milkshake), cheese, whey protein, fresh fruit juices (ex bel juice), premix (mixture of cereal, pulse & nuts), cereal malt, nuts, oilseeds, white rice, potato (ex- potato curry), atta-maida roti. Eat small frequent meals (at regular intervals-2-3 hrs). Drink 2-3 litres water daily. Walk for 15 mins before main meals & include soup before lunch/ dinner to increase appetite.

What should I do and what should I eat if I look like a matchstick. Which type of diet should I prefer. How many calories, iron,vitamin etc. I should eat in a day to look like healthy. Hello Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a. Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B. Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C. If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D. Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E. Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. G. You can take natural food items like wheat grass which is full of essential nutrients which helps in weight gain.

Hi lybrate-user for increasing body weight, start eating more chapatis and rice with ghee or butter. Take creamed milk upto 400 ml daily. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables, take pulses and pulses products. You can eat homemade fried foods but avoid eating from the market. If you eat non-veg then eat 2 to 3 pcs. Of egg or fish thrice a week. Also take 4 to 6 pcs. Of almonds or cashew nuts or some raisins. Must take exercise daily as it helps in better absorption of food and also increases your satiety.

Add more fluid in your diet like coconut water, lemon juice etc. Don't take spinach tomatoes any seedfull fruit. Take ashmarihar kwath empty stomach in morning for 15 days.

Sir, I am suffering from stomachache for 2 months. My stomach have swelled more. I am getting stomach ache in the evenings until dinner. I can't eat dinner properly. I think it is gas problem. Hello don't worry we wil care of your problem, in your age groups usually colitis or mild hyper acidity. Since it is not treated or a continuous repeat infection leading to chronic shape by proper history, cross question, examination blood, urine, stool tests usg abdomen etc perfect diagnosis can be made. Your food habit, hygiene, bowel movements are important to be suggested. Stop tobacco, khaini etc if so. Mean while anti spasmodics, antacids with dietary advise will give you relieve till diagnosis.

Normally women tend to have a stronger immune system than men. Estrogen promotes immune response while male hormones or androgens suppress immunity. Although women are less prone to viral bacterial and fungal infections, their immune system is prone to overreact and makes them susceptible to auto immune diseases. Studies have shown that women tend to lose this immunological advantage post menopause.

To boost immunity; juggling, yoga, and balanced diet rich in nutrients is essential. Spending outdoor activities and exercises for about 20 to 30 minutes regularly in stipulated time everyday.
