Hi, first let me know the type of pain like is it radiating from back to lower leg is there any back pain, if it's radiating it might be nerve compression in back for that try to streatch hamstring muscle by letting one leg straight down and lifting other one straight up as much as you can and lower back strengthning exercises. For cramp you can try electrolyte solution because cramps occur mainy of times due to ion imbalance. Do let me know if you need any further help.

Taken break in between, do some neck and back exercise for some exercise, use ergonomics chair put computer in front of you and use good table.

I am diabetic & my fasting yesterday was 152. I take glocoryl m1 fort before break fast & 1 tab zyoral m4 forte before dinner. I am now experiencing pain in my right ankle joint. Please advise.

Dear . As per most guidelines a fasting blood sugar of less than 140mg/dl is desired. However I would not panic on one reading above 140. What is your latest hba1c levels? is the ankle pain less than 4 weeks? in that case the ankle pain can be due to any of the three conditions- trauma -infectious arthritis or gout.

I am suffering from lower back pain in lumber region. Pain even moving around sometimes. Can't walk straighten. 1 years back same problem happened, a orthopedic surgeon told I have a little gap between bones in lumber region. Should I consult a doctor again? Please help.

dear user. as ortho dr. said if you have gap between bones then i must say you need to take physiotherapy treatment for some time. traction Inferential and ultrasonic therapy will reduce the gap between bones and helps regain strength in back. take physio treatment Asap

I am suffering from back and leg pain when I am get up early in the morning everyday.

I am suffering from back and leg pain when I am get up early in the morning everyday.
Backk. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretching. Do the cat/cow stretch. Leg pain. Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

My left wrist was lightly injured in metro, somebody sat down with full force on my wrist. An b & w ex-ray was done and found no bone fracture. But still whenever any pressure is done suddenly it gives pain. Kindly suggest.

Hi Apply pranacharya restopain oil or prasarini oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. And agni tundi vati and maha yograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day.

As you are in it you will require maximal sitting in a chair. Have a good chair with back support. Have frequent breaks: stand up and walk around for few minutes every 45 minutes. You can do hot fomentation.

I am 27 years old I have pain in my lower back pain goes down to buttock until knee but mostly I feel pain in my buttock when I sit down for a while after that when I try to walk I felt pain in the left side buttock. And some times if feel voice of muscles or bones.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

The joints gets swell and becomes reddish like knee joints, finger joints etc. And gets pain for continuously 3 days. Could you please suggest why this happens? And what are the precautions to take care?

This is sign of early arthritis. Avoid spicy citric and oily food drink more water, eat roughage food. Walk, pranayam and proper exercise will also help in this.

Nowadays back pain is a very common complaint in young adults. It can be due to various reasons any injury, muscle strain eg-sudden twist while lifting object, bad posture, overuse of muscle or any internal disease like spondylitis, infection etc after looking at your age I can recommend you: precautions: 1. Avoid forward bending, if required then bend your knees first and then bend forward. 2. Avoid weight lifting. 3. Sit in chairs or car seats with proper back support. 4. Try to sleep in a position that helps you maintain the curve in your back like sidelying. 5. Get enough vit d from sun as vit d keep bones strong including spine, 6. Drink plenty of water to enhance the intervertebral disks 7. Avoid standing in the one position for a long time. 8. Try to sleep in a position that helps you maintain the curve in your back. Physio care: I would recommend you for i-care treatment that is specially for back or neck pain. Rest required but it doesn't mean a complete bed rest. Do not over exert your body. Work take rest and then work so that you do not feel tired and started paining. Treatment- 1. Apply ice directly to the area of low back pain will decrease swelling and inflammation, and ease your discomfort. Apply it for 10 to 15 minutes only. 2. Relaxing for 5 minutes after ice or heat treatment. Apply any pain relieving ointment eg - volini or oraflame gel etc. Make sure not to do massage with the gel, it should not penetrate the body. 3. Again relax your body for 5 minutes and perform some normal back extension and hamstring stretching exercises to get relief from your pain. While performing exercises if pain occurs then would recommend you to stop doing exercise. Ask someone to massage your painful area as massage helps to induce relaxation, relieve pain, and reduce levels of stress chemicals, such as cortisol and noradrenaline. It will give you pain relief for time being. If you did not understand or have any doubt, please inform. Or alternatively please take advice from a physio as he/she can guide you proper exercise plan which will be beneficial for you after checking grade of your back pain.

Dear lybrate user. Start with active stretching exercises daily for 30 min to 1 hour after hot fomentation and massage. If no relief visit a pain physician nearby and get yourself diagnosed. Take care.
