Can smoking effect on Liver. And whats happen if smoke 20 times in a day. Whats Liver Disease and how overcome from Liver Disease. Any prove good treatment of Liver Disease.

PDDM, MHA, MBBS
General Physician, Nashik
Although cigarette smoke does not have a direct effect on liver function, harmful chemicals in cigarette smoke increase oxidative stress of the system after reaching the liver, causing irreversible damaging to the liver cells. Drink plenty of fluids. Instead of having coffee, tea or aerated drinks, have fresh fruit juices and loads of water. This will help the liver to detoxify the system. Quit smoking. Smoking not only damages the liver by itself but also increases the toxic effect of medicines you might be taking on the liver. Limit alcohol intake. The more you drink, the more likely you are to damage your liver.

Dear lybrate user with the limited amount of information provided it appears that you are having gastritis. The first and foremost treatment of which is life style modification like regular exercise, diet modification as advised and liberal fluid intake. Try having small frequent meals, avoid tea/coffee/carbonated drinks, avoid chilli, stop smoking and consuming alcohol if you do. Hope this solves your query. Try with these life style measures first. If any concern then feel free to contact we will then discuss and start you on medication if needed as every one has a different requirement of medicine.

I am 19 I am suffering from indigestion all my reports are normal lft, cbc, ultrasound, thyroid, stool sample. Too much irritated and weakness .hair falling and sometimes red colour face .help me pls.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Bangalore
The solution to your problem is very simple. Change your lifestyle. And you will find that your digestion has improved considerably. Hair fall is a consequence of long term indigestion and low nutrition This can also be corrected with a healthy diet 1. Eat at the right time daily. long gap between meals does not help. ensure you include enough fibres in your diet to promote digestion - one bowl each of fresh fruits and boiled vegetables will give you sufficient fibre. Also included natural digestive aids like Ginger , cumin, coriander, mint - in fa t you can make a herbal tea out of the above ingredients and have it twice daily 2. Exercise for 30 minutes daily- this is a must and the best solution for all digestive issues. 3. sleep - avoid sleeping during g the day time. This reduces your digestive power. Try to catch a good 7hrs sleep at night

Hi. I am 26 years old (72 kg). Few months back i.e march I had gall bladder removal surgery. Which was successful. Der was no complications. And surgeon advice me to take regular meals but to avoid high fatty foods. But now I feel like discomfort in heart. Like something is pinching over inside. M worry plzz suggest wat do I need to do.

Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
Most probably the surgery must have been by key hole method giving minimum cuts and trauma. Your doctor has suggested you to eat everything except fats. Trust him. Bad fats are not good for anyone, not even a 10 years old kid. After gall bladder surgery the appetite becomes better as there is no fear of pain after eating. Eat whatever you like but do reduce your weight the healthy way by eating right and exercising according to your constitution and physique. Walking is best exercise which is meditative too. Drink warm liquids more often as gall bladder juice-bile has no reservoir now as gall bladder is removed and bile is flowing constantly in the food pipe. Take warm water with honey, green tea, clear soups, plain warm water more often to wash away the acid and bile juice in stomach. Hope you know about bad fats. Let me repeat-street food and trans fats present in packed foods. But do take good fats like a spoon of pure ghee/butter + katori of assorted nuts everyday. Seasonal vegetables and fruits-lots drink a glass of warm water with fresh lemon juice + spoon of honey on empty stomach in morning-it does burn fats and extra sugars. Say no to empty calories like sugar and sweets, fizzy cold drinks, packed juices. Eat fresh fruits. If worried about heart get basic tests done like ecg, echo, stress test, blood test for sugar & total lipids. Get back here with reports and progress of weight loss. Only 10 kgs need to be shed @ 5 kg /month.

This could be due to chronic gastritis or hyperacidity or it could be due to infestation of intestinal parasites like hook warms, round warms, tape warms normally one should get dewarming done at least once a year if not six monthly. It is a single dose medication like albendazole mebendazole do it with consuation with a doctor. Have plenty of leafy vegetables and cesealsin food. And lot of water by mouth.
