Hi Doctor, my son age is 10 months old and 9 kgs weight. He has some nuro problem like cerebral dysfunction. Doctors ...
It is not clear whether c dysfunction is local lesion of brain which may cause paresis of related part or general which is called cerebral palsy which effect body. If muscle power is effected due to these reasons, complete recovery is not sure. But weakness or low power of muscle is due to nutritional deficiency, recovery is most likely good. Give him good protein diet like milk cheese, dal, chapati and all home made edibles vegetables supplement with multivitamin, iron, calcium. Massage shall help in fast recovery.

It is said that eucalyptus oil is useful for cold and used in some inhalers for cold. I think, you may use a finger touch to his bed.

Migraine and Homoeopathy

BHMS
Homeopath, Chennai

Migraine is a complex disorder characterized by recurrent episodes of a headache, most often unilateral and in some cases associated with visual or sensory symptoms collectively known as an aura that arise most often before the head pain but that may occur during or afterward . Migraine is most common in women and has a strong genetic component.

Signs and symptoms

Typical symptoms of migraine include the following:

1.Throbbing or a pulsatile headache, with moderate to severe pain that intensifies with movement or physical activity

2.Unilateral and localized pain in the frontotemporal and ocular area but the pain may be felt anywhere around the head or neck

3.Pain builds up over a period of 1-2 hours, progressing posteriorly and becoming diffuse

4.Headache lasts 4-72 hours

5.Nausea (80%) and vomiting (50%), including anorexia and food intolerance, and light-headedness

6.Sensitivity to light and sound

Features of migraine aura are as follows:

1.May precede or accompany the headache phase or may occur in isolation

2.Usually develops over 5-20 minutes and lasts less than 60 minutes

3.Most commonly visual but can be sensory, motor, or any combination of these

4.Visual symptoms may be positive or negative

5.The most common positive visual phenomenon is the scintillating scotoma, an arc or band of absent vision with a shimmering or glittering zigzag border

Physical findings during a migraine headache may include the following:

*Cranial/cervical muscle tenderness
*Horner syndrome (ie, relative miosis with 1-2 mm of ptosis on the same side as the headache)
*Conjunctival injection
*Tachycardia or bradycardia
**Hypertension or hypotension
*Hemisensory or hemiparetic neurologic deficits (ie, complicated migraine)
*Adie-type pupil (ie, poor light reactivity, with near dissociation from light)

Homoeopathic constitutional treatment cures this malady completely since it goes to the root of the disease and removes this tendency permanently.

Some of Homoeopathic remedies used for treating migraine are Belladonna,Spigelia,Sanguinaria,Glonoine,Natrum mur,Phosphorus, Tuberculinum, Iris versicolor, medicine should be strictly selected based on symptom similarity only to get permanent cure.

*Hypertension

Even if he is not consuming milk if he is taking vegetables rich in calcium like cabbage, broccoli etc it's enough. Boost can be added to milk if he likes. You can also give calcium tablets.

Head normal temp can not be defined. It may be warm on touch which is normal so sweating for some babies. If you suspect fever by touching head, measure temp by thermometer which is right way to assess fever.

Is nebulization for 7 years old child is good or bad often my child is asked to go for this treatment by Doctor. How to reduce such type of treatment because I am not ok to give this continuously. so please help me for that

Diploma in Diabetology, Pregnancy & Diabetes, Hypertension, Cardiovascular Prevention in Diabetes ,Thyroid
Sexologist, Sri Ganganagar
Nebulization is very effective and good for small children. It is difficult for small children to spit out the sputum like older children or adults. So nebulization for babies is very effective in providing relief from breathing difficulty due to stuffy nose. You can also refer to the home remedies for stuffy nose in babies and kids. NEBULIZER IS GOOD DEAR AND ITS MYTH THAT IT COULD BE USED FOR ASTHAMTIC PERSON ONLY.

Colic Pain - How to Treat It

MD - Paediatrics, MBBS
Pediatrician, Delhi
Colic Pain - How to Treat It

When you have a newborn bundle of joy, no parent would be ready for constant crying bouts from the infant. However, for various reasons, even healthy, well-fed infants can be colicky.

What is it: Although a mystery, a baby is said to be colicky if it cries for more than 3 hours a day for more than 3 days a week for more than 3 weeks at a stretch. The baby is completely healthy, and the symptoms start about 2 to 3 weeks of life in both breast-fed and bottle-fed babies. The baby usually has a red face from crying and could be pulling its legs towards its chest due to the abdominal discomfort.

Causes: Though still not exactly established, some things that are believed to cause colic include:

  1. The baby's digestive system that is growing and goes through spasms
  2. Extreme sensitivity to noise and light in the surrounding environment
  3. Accumulation of gas in the belly that is ingested with the milk (breast or bottles)
  4. Hormones that are supposedly affecting the baby's moods

Treatment: As there is no specific cause identified, the treatment is also symptomatic and aims at soothing the baby's pain and discomfort.

  1. Altered feeding: Given that a baby's tummy is very small and is about the size of a fist, it makes sense to feed it small amounts at regular intervals than to give a full feed once in like 4 to 5 hours. The baby is sure to feel full with this and therefore the discomfort. Burping between the feed is also shown to help avoid feeling of fullness. If you are breast feeding, try to not let the baby doze off when feeding.
  2. Anti-colic bottles: These bottles have a vent inside the bottle which will help reduce the accumulation of gas within the bottle. There are various brands available in the market, these could be a good solution if the baby is even partially bottle-fed.
  3. Simethicone: This is an anti-flatulent, which again helps eliminate gas bubbles in the stomach and thereby provides relief to the infant. It can be given either by a dropper or a syringe.
  4. Exercise: Try bending the legs at the knee and holding it towards the baby's stomach, this can help ease the pain.

Remember that this is a very transient thing and usually disappears on its own by the 4th month, and the above measures are only to help the baby and the mother.

Dear doctor, I have a 12 year old son. He does’t show any interest in studies. He always likes to play computer and mobile games or watch TV. He studies and writes very little, compared with the syllabus for exams. This is happening from class I on words. He is studying with state syllabus. He studied well up to UKG only. Even when I try to show interesting videos in internet related to studies, he does’t like. Even when we scold him, he doesn't care. He frequently bunks classes. Even brushing teeth and bathing does not do regularly, even when we - parents put a lot of pressure. But he loves us and plays with us well. He behaves well with friends and neighbors. He also likes to eat junk food daily, because of which he is getting frequent health problems. I like to know whether there is anyway to change his behavior and create interest in studies to him, avoid junk food.

MBBS, MD - Psychiatry, MBA (Healthcare)
Psychiatrist, Davanagere
Good Afternoon, The symptoms that you describe for your son are very characteristic of ADHD with behavioral disturbances. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder can be of 3 types, isolated inattentive type, hyperactive/impulsive type and mixed type. It seems like he has been having these symptoms since 5-6 years of age. I also believe that you will do well to take him to a psychiatrist so that he gets better. He may also be having depression and irritability is a common sign of depression. I believe that you need to let me know more about your kid so that I can get to a proper diagnosis and help with management. Look forward to hearing from you. If you need help with booking an appointment online with me on this website either text, audio or video appointment for confidential and private consultation you may do so by contacting the help desk of Lybrate.
