red eyes could be because of many reasons but commonly it is due to allergy or infection. You need to visit eye specialist to differentiate between the two as the treatment is different. Also get your eyes checked for any glass power

FICO, DNB Ophtalmology

The best thing for you to do is to go and consult your eye specialist in person. The reason for this being that you have recently undergone surgery for your eyes. The pimple should be taken seriously and treatment should be initiated for the same. Hope my suggestions helped you. Take care. regards-Dr. Chaitanya.

My son infected by aids consequently his ratina affected and he lost his vision in right eye and left eye vision is now very poor. Alopathy treatment is running. As per doctor no further hope for improvement. But i m informed by some friends that in homeopathy can treat it. So i need guidance on this problem.

Allopathic doctors are not trained in homeopathy. As far as I know once cells in the retina are destroyed the body cannot regenerate them. So I doubt if any form of medicine at present can help him. You can try to get him low vision rehabilitation with some devices made for people with low vision.

Glasses, contact lenses and surgery are the only three options for good vision if you having spectacle power. If you not comfortable with glasses or contact lens, you can plan lasik surgery after a proper prelasik checkup.

Is it possible to remove eye numbers whithout lasic treatment, my age is 25 left eye= 0. 5 right eye=1. 75

MBBS, MS - Ophthalmology

Use contact lens for that on occasions. However, lasik is best and safe option to go for. The procedure takes hardly 15 minutes to complete and has least chances of complications. Its also cheaper nowadays.

I am a 17 year old female I wanted to reduce my eye sight I am using spectacles since 5 years and its going on increasing so how to reduce my eye sight. So please suggest me the best tips and remedies to reduce my eye sight.

FICO, DNB Ophtalmology
Ophthalmologist, Gandhinagar
Hello lybrate-user. Sorry about your eye problem. Operations done to remove the refractive error (power) of the eyes are known as refractive surgery (lasik). There are certain basic criteria that most patients need to fulfill before they can safely undergo refractive surgery. To enumerate, they are: (1) stability of refraction: the power of the eyes should have become stable for a period of 1.5 years minimum without any change. (2) curvature of the cornea should be tested by a technique which is known as topography. (3) thickness of the cornea should be measured by a test known as pachymetry. The minimum thickness required is 550 microns. (4) dilated retina evaluation: this is one of the most important tests that should be performed by a trained retina specialist. This test helps in detection of any offensive lesion on the central or peripheral retina. In case of any retinal abnormality, these should be treated before undergoing the surgery for number reduction. (5) there should be no pre-existent corneal abnormality. (example: corneal scar, opacity, defect, etc.) another important suggestion is that whenever you go for the assessment (the above mentioned tests), you should discontinue the use of contact lenses at least 4 weeks prior to the assessment. The reason for this being that use of contact lens temporarily alters the contour of the cornea. It takes around 3-4 weeks for the restoration of the original corneal contour after removal of the contact lens. Another important point is that you, as a patient, should be compliant to put post operative medication in your eyes for at least 2 months. There is bound to be some discomfort, watering, foreign body sensation, pain after the surgery in most cases-you should be ready to tolerate that. A leave from work for 7-10 days after the surgery should be generally sufficient. Last but not the least, you should set realistic expectations from this surgery. Though extremely rare, there is a remote possibility that the surgery may need to be repeated. Also, the need for subsequent treatment for the eye may be required. Thus, you should be compliant enough to trust and follow your eye specialist. Take care,

Sir what is meant by eye night blindness and your idea is correction for my eye blindness pls give your answer.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hi. Night blindness is a condition that makes it difficult to see in low light. The human eye got a very sophisticated system which can function from very dark to very bright light. But in the case of night blindness, the eyes fails to adapt to darkness. Night blindness can be an early sign of vitamin A deficiency, often the result of a diet lacking in vegetables containing beta-carotene, which the body can make into vitamin A. A lack of zinc can reduce retinol dehydrogenase, an enzyme needed to help vitamin A work in the eye. Zinc helps night blindness in those who are zinc-deficient. Most people don’t get enough zinc in their diets. Vitamin A is found naturally in many foods: cod liver oil, liver, sweet potato, carrot, broccoli, butter, kale, spinach, pumpkin, Cheddar cheese, egg, apricot, papaya, mango, pea, milk, tomatoes, seaweed.

I have week eye sight and due to which I have to wear specs all day so please suggest me how to remove specs.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, Include the following for getting better vision: Vitamins A, C, E, and minerals like copper and zinc are essential to eyesight. Get the antioxidants from dark leafy greens, egg yolks, yellow peppers, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Include garlic and onions. Blueberries, grapes as they have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help improve your vision. DHA is a fatty acid found in coldwater fish like salmon, sardines and mackerel. Exercises for eyes: Warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. Roll your eyes. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise. Focus. Hold a pen at arm's length, focus your eyes on it, and slowly bring the pen closer until it's about 6 inches away from your nose. Then slowly move it back, keeping your eyes focused on the pen, 10 times in all. Massage your temples. Using your thumb knuckles, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Repeat the same actions above the mid-point of the eyebrows at the forehead, then below the eyes on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Take a mini-nap. Put your head back, close your eyes, and relax for 3 minutes. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine which will help you in preventing first and reducing the power of your eyes. Take Physostigma 6/ thrice daily for 1 month. Thereafter, revert back for further guidance.
