I have got rashes above my elbow both hands. This is been there for many years and has been increasing year by year. Itching during summer. Once it itches ring worm kind of patch is formed around the marks. Small or little big black dots above both elbows. Exact location where we rest our hands on table. Have tried many types of ointments. Only itching reduces but the black spots doesn't decrease or disappear. There is hair growth too on these spots.

For temporary relief of itching, try these self-care measures: use a high-quality moisturizing cream on your skin. Apply an anti-itch cream or lotion to the affected area as prescribed by me avoid scratching whenever possible. Apply cool, wet compresses. Take a lukewarm bath. Wear smooth-textured, loose cotton clothing. Do reply back for private consultation for a detailed treatment plan which will cure your itching problem.

Do I need an implant for my missing canine? Also underbite and open bite braces and jaw surgery in the process.

Do I need an implant for my missing canine? Also underbite and open bite braces and jaw surgery in the process.
Hi lybrate-user You seem to have looked up your problems on the internet, or seen a dental surgeon. As far as missing teeth are concerned, they ideally should be replaced. Implants are currently the best available option for the same, and should be considered first. However, other options do exist, and you can discuss these with your dentist before selecting the one you find most appropriate to your situation. As for braces and jaw surgery, it would be difficult to give you any opinion without specific evaluation (clinical and xrays). It would be best that you set up an appointment with a dental surgeon and discuss your problems and the possible treatment options, and go ahead with the most feasible one. Thanks.

A good skin care with enough of sun protection is the basic to be followed. Keep indoors. Avoid going out in sun from 10-4 pm. Sunscreen usage daily 4-5 times is essential. You may also try some chemical peels at a doctor's clinic. Meanwhile I can suggest you to use milk cream + haldi if your skin is dry. If oily - use curd + turmeric.

How Ayurveda Helps To Cure Skin Diseases?

How Ayurveda Helps To Cure Skin Diseases?

The skin is the largest external organ as well as the largest organ in general in the human body. There are many types of skin diseases that can afflict your body and they may appear anywhere. Ayurveda is a potent weapon which can be used to treat many skin diseases effectively. The natural remedies of Ayurveda are being increasingly adopted throughout the world.

Let's take a look at a few of the skin diseases that can be easily cured by Ayurveda:

  • Eczema: One of the most common types of skin diseases, eczema is characterized by the reactions that the skin has. These reactions can manifest themselves in many forms. The most common reaction is swelling of the skin with redness. Other forms may also develop blisters, cracking of the skin, scaling or papules.
  • Scaly rashes: Scientifically known as Papulosquamous Eruptions, scaly rashes are usually the result of itching which in itself is a reaction to some internal or external factors. These rashes can be mild to severely painful depending on what had caused them. Some factors behind these may be eczema, reaction to drugs, psoriasis and others.
  • Urticaria: These rashes differ from other ones as they persist for a short period of time and usually result in swellings on the skin. These swellings may be very sensitive and itchy. Some common examples of Urticaria are Nettle rashes and hives that may develop due to an external factor such as bug bites.
  • Psoriasis: Ayurveda has great treatments for this disease as its incidence within the population is quite high. This is a non-infectious skin condition where inflammation occurs in the affected parts of the skin and reddish scales form on the body. This problem is usually attributed to excessive cells within the body.
  • Pruritus or itching: Another very common skin affliction which can be caused by a variety of factors, it can be a reaction to something external or be caused by internal issues that may be developing. Mostly caused by the reaction of external nerve endings they may become very painful if over stimulated.

Ayurveda has many remedies for all of the ailments mentioned above along with many other skin disorders and has gained popularity as it completely natural and devoid of side effects encountered with conventional medicine. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an ayurveda and ask a free question.

Sir/mam can you tell me how to remove blackheads on my nose which I have from past 4 years.
Hello Lybrate User, Blackheads are the pores that come with larger openings. It gets clogged with the dirt as well as dead skin. Melanin oxidation results in the black color. Basically, blackheads are yellowish or even blackish bumps that embedded in the pores. Blackheads easily develop when the skin produces much oil as well as can worsen if you fail to clean it properly, if dead skin buildups. To get rid from blackheads follow this tips - * Facial steam technique - Wash your face with a cleanser, Put a towel over your head, Hold your face over the steamer for 8-10 minutes, Gently massage your nose to get rid of blackheads. Apply your toner and moisturizer as you would normally. * Clay mask - Apply the clay mask or multani mitti mask to a dry skin. Allow it to harden for up to 15 minutes. Take it off when it feels dry. Wipe the remainder off with lukewarm water. For better results consult me on Lybrate privately. Take care.

Nipple Pain And Discharge

Nipple Pain And Discharge

Discharge from nipple (galactorrhoea)

Secretion of milk-like discharge from one or both breasts unrelated to childbirth is called galactorrhea. Nipple discharge is most often due to a benign process. This common breast problem has been reported in 10 to 15 percent of women with benign breast disease and in 2.5 to 3 percent of women with breast cancer. There are generally two different types of nipple discharge

Non-spontaneous

Occurs when the breast is manually squeezed, can happen to any woman and is usually not concerning.

Spontaneous discharge

Which spots on the clothing, should be evaluated by a physician and may warrant further testing.

Evaluation

Physiologic discharges

Characterized by discharge only with compression and by multiple duct involvement. These discharges are frequently bilateral. With either type, the discharge fluid may be clear, yellow, white or dark green.

Pathologic discharges

Spontaneous, bloody or associated with a mass. These discharges are usually unilateral.

Causes

- excessive production of milk-stimulating hormone prolactin by pituitary problems, malfunction of hypothalamus.

- menstrual problem such as amenorrhea problems with cervical part of spine.

- drugs such as oral contraceptives, tranquillizers, and diuretics.

- injury, burns, or surgery,

- neurological problems such as shingles,

- breast cancer

- athletes may experience small amounts of galactorrhea from constant rubbing of the nipples against clothing. Frequent sexual stimulation of the breasts may have similar effects.

Probable diagnosis

- milky discharge: may be due to physiological (lactation); oral contraceptives; galactorrhea

- bloody discharge: may be due to intraductal papiloma; intraductal cancer; malignancy; duct ectasia; fibrocystic disease.

- purulent discharge: may be due to infection

- serous or sticky discharge: fibrocystic disease

- discharge from the surface of breast is seen in paget’s disease;

- skin diseases such as eczema and psoriasis; rare causes such as chancre may also cause discharge.

Self care

- stimulation of the nipple (i. E, squeezing to check for discharge) actually promotes discharge; patients with a physiologic discharge should avoid checking for discharge. A physiologic discharge often resolves when the nipple is left alone.

- all patients with spontaneous or unilateral nipple discharge needs surgical evaluation. This is true for patients with bloody discharges and for those with clear or serous discharges.

Homeopathic symptoms and cure

Homeopathic remedies are prescribed on the basis of symptoms rather than conditions, as each case of a particular illness can manifest differently in different people. There are many symptoms which can be effectively treated by homeopathy few symptoms are given below.

. Nipples sore and fissured, intense suffering on putting child to breast, pain starts from nipple and radiates all over body. Breast feels like a brick, lumpy and nodular.
. Premenstrual breast congestion in women with abundant periods, weight gain and nervousness before the period.
. Cyst in the breast, hard and painful but, itchy, with stitching pains in the nipple. Discomfort worse just before and after the period; woman wants to press breasts hard with hand.
. Bluish-red lumps in the breast, with gradual loss of fatty tissue, and tendency to feel hot all the time.
. Intensely sensitive nipples, sticking pains, like a splinter, cracks, nipples discolored.
. Nipples inflamed and very tender, can hardly bear the pain of nursing, intolerant of pain: “cannot bear it!” very irritable.
. Sore nipples with dry hard deep cracks on it. Dry itching and crusty.
. Cheesy and offensive discharge from nipple.
. Deep sore cracks across crown of nipple.

For proper diagnose consult a homeopath. Start treatment to get rid of these problems.

Shea Butter For Skin - Why It Is So Good?

Shea butter is derived from the nuts of Karite trees (also known as Mangifolia) – which is predominantly found in many parts of Africa. It is sourced out in the form of a nutty oily substance and when the nuts are crushed, boiled and fermented, it leaves behind a light colored fat, commonly referred to as Shea butter.

Shea butter is edible and is used in a wide range of culinary cuisines across the globe. Shea butter may be refined or unrefined. It is a stock house of essential vitamins and minerals and finds many applications. The butter is beneficial for your health, skin and hair. No, even if the microdermabrasion is done very deeply, deep acne scars are better treated by regular dermabrasion or carbon dioxide (co2) laser resurfacing. Both of these treatments require about a week and a half of recovery time. It is a wound that requires diligent care by you and there is a risk of scarring from the procedure.

No, it cannot be done. The shape and colour of the lips or any part of the body is dependent on the genes inherited from our parents. So its important to understand this fact and accept the reality. Living a healthy life and enjoying yourself is more important than comparing yourself with others and getting stressed.
