Somatic symptom disorder is when you put so much focus on symptoms such as pain or fatigue that you have trouble functioning or experience severe emotional distress. You will be visiting the doctor a lot, completely unnecessarily and will waste a lot of money when you have no major health concerns. However, there are treatments, which can help you cope with this problem. Read further to find out what they are:

Symptoms 

  1. Worrying excessively about an illness, which has not yet occurred

There are many more symptoms, which may indicate that you are suffering from somatic symptom disorder. However, the most important way of telling whether someone is suffering from somatic symptom disorder or not is to see whether the patient is overly worried about a physical problem, which has not yet occurred. One of the first steps in making sure that this does not happen is finding out what causes the problem and preventing it. Here are the causes of somatic symptom disorder.

Causes: As with other psychological disorders, the exact cause of somatic symptom disorder is not yet known. However, there are a number of factors which may increase the risk of it, such as: 

  1. Genetic and biological factors: These as well as an increased sensitivity to pain are some of the factors, which you have no control over. 
  2. Environment you grew up in: Just like the genes you have, the environment you grew up in and your family influence will have a major impact on whether you develop the condition as well.
  3. Problems processing emotions: When people have problems processing emotions, their physical symptoms seem like a bigger problem than they actually are.

Treatment: Luckily, there are treatments for this disorder as well, which include.

  1. Psychotherapy: Psychotherapy is the most common treatment used to help people with somatic symptom disorder.
  2. Medications: Since depression and pain often occur when a person is suffering from somatic symptom disorder, antidepressants can be given as well.

Its the cystocele repair with or without mesh with hardly 2 to 3 stiches under anasthesia. Hospital stay will be maximum 72 hours if everything goes uneventfull.

breast discharge is multifactorial ,and you ve to look if its bilateral or from one breast. most commonly its due to raised prolactin hormones and due to drug intake like anti depressives or anti emetics,if you ve taken any medicine recently that may be the cause so just check for its side affects at present get your thyroid and prolactin levels checked

  2. Cleaning your teeth with toothpick: Many of us have the habit of removing food particles from the teeth with the help of toothpicks. But toothpicks may damage the teeth while making you susceptible to gum problems and other dental ailments.
  3. Cleaning your ears too much: Cleaning the ears rapidly and randomly can tear off the delicate ear drums and could even prove fatal if you do it wrong. Hence it is good to stay away from excessive cleaning of the ears.
  4. Plucking the hair in the nose: The habit of plucking those tiny, unwanted short hairs in the nose may be bad for you. When you pluck the hair of the nose, you also disrupt and tear away the skin around the hair. This lets the bacteria to find the way to your body which could pave the way for a host of health challenges.
  5. Watching television for long hours: Studies have reported that watching television for a long time can actually kill you. Your habit of watching back-to-back episodes of any television series can be detrimental to your health. This would increase your risk of dying from a blood clot in the lungs. This means if you watch television for about 5 hours of video every day can increase your risk of dying about 5 years earlier.
  6. Eating while watching TV: Another bad habit is snacking while watching tv since nutritionists say that watching television while eating can pose a serious risk to your health. This is also because people tend to munch on high-calorie foods while watching tv and it has numerous unwanted side effects. This would cause an excessive weight gain as people tend to get distracted while viewing television without being aware of what they have eaten.

My age is 28 years .I have been on contraceptive pill named dronis 30, (dropirenone and ethinyloestradiol)for 1 year after that my blood sugar level incrased a lot (140 on empty stomac). Now I want to get pregnant soon. Is it possible i will have increased thyroid also after taking the pill

The pills are not responsible for sugar and thyroid problems. Most likely, these are coincidental. First control your thyroid and sugar before planning pregnancy, otherwise there may be difficulty during pregnancy. But controlled sugar and controlled thyroid are relatively safe for pregnancy. If your lft (blood test) is normal and sonography shows normal pregnancy, you need not be scared. Take tablets for vomiting or nausea prescribed by the doctor. Break up the meals into 6, so you don't have to consume too much in one meal. Don't drink water immediately after food. Don't lie down just after meals. Some exercise like walking will help. Ensure you are consuming adequate calories and electrolytes.

Keeping track of your cycle probably doesn't sound that interesting or important, but you can benefit a lot by doing that.   1. Know about your body: Getting your period every 28 days has always been considered normal but only 15% of women get their periods on the clock. Many factors such as stress, illness, exercise, etc. can cause delay in  your period. This is where tracking your cycle can help you find the pattern that is specific to your body condition. During your cycle there are lots of changes happening in your body. The hormones cause a change in the fluid produced from your cervix and also lead the basal temperature of your body to increase. Monitoring these changes through tracking your cycle is known as the symptothermal method. By this way you know about how fascinatingly your body works.

Hello, To rule out pregnancy before 8 days post missed periods, serum beta hcg test should be used. Once ruled out then you can safely wait for your menses to start for a week.

Dear lybrate-user reader it is not at all a question of how many times you could be able or manage to have sex in a single night rather here comes the question of quality sex as man can satisfied a female in single shot and he may not be even 7 timed a night. Hello, it is likely that your wife may have been dehydrated and in a habit of taking less water during the day. Also most common reason of weakness in indian women is anemia which has to be treated with iron supplement once diagnosed. Get a hemoglobin test done and review with reports.
