Using knee cap is not a problem you can use it for long not an issue but remove it while rest. Strengthening & isometric exes play an important role in knee pain. Support help you to avoid stress & jerks on the joint while walking no harm.

Douring pregnancy lower limbs do develop some swelling because uterus grows big and put pressure on blood vessels of lower limbs. This is called dependent edema. It disappears invariably post delivery. If one develops hypothyroidism even then swelling of face and lower limbs does occur. Since you are having hypothyroidism, there is a possibility of this complaint. Particularly if tsh levels are not well controlled.

My coccyx bone has fracture before 20 days. How much day it wil ned to cure totally?

PGDHHM, MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
Sitting on soft surfaces can reduce the pressure on the coccyx. A 'donut' ' cushion may be used to sit ,these are cushions with a hole in them to ensure that no weight is placed in the injured tailbone. Over the counter painkillers can be used. Fibre rich diet is recommended, as they are high in fibre to soften stools and avoids constipation . Hope this helps u.

I an 48 yrs old I have got fracture in my palm a minor one near the thumb I had the plaster for 2 weeks. When I went to remove the plaster then afterwards when the plaster was removed the doctor said to me that your bone is still fractured from one angle. I had x ray two times for two different angles of my palm and now he saying that do mri and if in mri there is a fracture then i have to take plaster for again 6 weeks

DNB, MBBS
Orthopedist, Delhi
Sir, no fracture heals in 2 weeks, u need to keep the plaster on for a minimum of 6 weeks and then get a check x ray. If the fracture is still not healed, keep plaster on for additional 2 weeks. Also get your vitamin d levels (blood test) checked, if it is low, you will need supplements for the same.

Hello, back pain can be immediately resolved by a skilled orthopedic physiotherapist. If you met with an injury due to fall or something, then the advice and protocols will be different. Get your back pelvis and spine adjusted by a skilled orthopedic spinal manual therapist. Till then you can apply hot pack in pain site for 20 mins twice. Apply ketoplast pain plaster at the painful site and keep it for 24 hours. Re-apply another if needed. Don't lie on your stomach, sleep on your side. Don't bend forward to be on the safe side untill you get examined. Don't bed bound yourself, keep your back moving because motion is lotion! hope it helps. Thanks.

I face acidity problem every day and also found pain in ankle and knee of my left leg.
Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.
