Good morning my Lybrate user, don't worry. I've met a lot of just embarrassingly stupid gay men (who were lovely people,) but really, it doesn't come with IQ. It just doesn't. Like everything else (including wearing a sweater without any kind of shirt underneath,) there really aren't any "symptoms" of homosexuality except for feeling sexual attraction to people of your same gender. So the real answer is: You might just be going through a period of low libido. You might not be interested in anyone sexually. You might just know some really unintelligent and spiritually unattractive women. You might be coming to terms with some underlying attraction towards men that you weren't ready to really look at before. Who knows? All of these things are okay. Don't panic and don't be in a huge rush to label yourself. Take it easy and explore where your body, heart and mind take you, and (hopefully) allow that to be, without judgement. Next time you fall for someone or get wildly turned on by someone, then I guess you'll know another piece of information about where your attraction lies. Until then, don't get all bummed out about changing into someone new... because you are still who you have always been. So enjoy your life.

The cuticle is the nail's protective barrier and should not be pushed back during a pedicure. Damaging it increases the risk of nail infection. Smoothing the surface of the nail too aggressively with nail files and buffers at the base of the nail also can damage the cuticle.

I am getting typhoid very frequently. Got typhoid 3rd time after one week gap. Is this because of weakness or what? Should I go for any X-ray or kind of another check up? Kindly suggest.

Please get vaccinated for typhoid after this episode. Typhoid does relapse because it develops resistance to treatment. You need fresh course of antibiotics.

I m suffering from fever till 3 days. What I will do?

AUTLS, CCEDM, MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
General Physician,
I m suffering from fever till 3 days. What I will do?
Fever is not considered medically significant until body temperature is above 100.4 F (38 C). Fever serves as one of the body's natural defences against bacteria and viruses which cannot live at a higher temperatures. Also, the body's defence mechanisms seem to work more efficiently at a higher temperature -Fevers of 104 F (40 C) or higher may be dangerous and demand immediate treatments like: -Acetaminophen (dolo-650 mg) twice or thrice can be used to lower a fever . Aspirin should not be used for fever in children/ adolescents or during a viral illness. -Wear loose fitting clothes and don’t overdress. Overdressing can cause temperature to rise further. -Tepid water (85 F [30 C]) baths may help bring down a fever -The body should be cooled with a wet sponge. -A fever can cause severe dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids.. Have citrus fruits, particularly Vitamin C rich ones like mausami, Amla juice etc. -Take light and easily digestible home cooked meals .avoid outside food -Wash hands frequently with soap and water especially after returning from public places or public transport. -Further therapy depends on the cause of fever like urinary infection/typhoid or malaria/dengue infection and the accompanying symptoms that need to be investigated and treated accordingly

Diet for Psoriasis

Doctor of Homeopathic Medicine (H.M.D.)
Homeopath, Belgaum
Diet for Psoriasis

There's no strong scientific evidence that specific foods can impact psoriasis, but there is evidence that losing extra weight can ease symptoms. Nutritionists and physicians recommend a healthy, balanced diet to control your weight and your psoriasis, as well as lower your risk of heart disease, diabetes, and stroke (which are elevated in people with psoriasis).
Best Food For Psoriasis
Carrots and squash
"A diet that's high in fruits and vegetables can have an anti-inflammatory effect,". And although there are no studies connecting fruits and vegetables specifically with a reduction in psoriasis symptoms, psoriasis is an inflammatory condition. Specific vegetables that might have inflammation fighting properties include carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, spinach, kale, and broccoli.
Fish and seafood
Omega-3 fatty acids abundant in fatty fish such as salmon, mackerel, sardines, and albacore tuna are the foundation of a heart healthy diet. Fish oils are thought to reduce inflammation and help the immune system, which is overactive in people with psoriasis. Given that psoriasis is also linked to a higher risk of heart attack and stroke, it's a good idea to eat fish at least twice a week.
Grains
Grains such as whole grain bread, cereal, and pasta; oatmeal; and brown rice are another component of an overall healthy diet. Like fruits and vegetables, grains also contain a variety of anti inflammation antioxidants and are high in fiber, which has been linked with lower inflammation levels and better regulation of blood sugar. Legumes such as beans and lentils also have antioxidants and fiber, so include them in your diet as well.
Nuts and avocados
Fats in general get a bad rap, but there are such things as "good fats." These include the polyunsaturated fats found in nuts, vegetable oils, and avocados, and monounsaturated fats found in soybean oil, walnuts, flaxseed, and certain fish. They're good for you in general (when taken in moderation, of course they still can pack in the calories). Stay away from saturated fats and trans fats, which may increase inflammation in the body.
Blueberries
Not only do blueberries have anti-inflammatory properties, but also lots of vitamin C, manganese (good for bone health), and fiber. All this while low in fat. Other fruits that may have anti-inflammatory properties include mangoes, strawberries, and figs. But you really can’t go wrong with any fruits, which are right up there with vegetables on the “good-for-you” list. Scientists are only just beginning to uncover other healthful properties of fruits. Blueberries, for instance, may also boost memory and fight heart disease.

Ear hygiene and cleanig

MBBS, MS - ENT
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Ahmedabad
Ear hygiene and cleanig

There is a tradition in a lot of families to clean ears regularly with ear buds or q tips and those who don't do it are many times considered unhygienic. But it may risk hearing ability. Inside ear is a very delicate structure and is likely to be damaged easily even with trivial trauma.

First, we must understand that wax has a useful role to play in the ear, it lubricates protects and renders antiseptic property. Ears without wax feel dry and itchy. Wax is self-cleaned from our ear canal propagated by movements of the jaw. So most of the times there is never any need to clean wax from inside the ears. The only external surface of the ear should be cleaned with a cloth.

Many times attempts to clean ears with ear buds results in injury to the delicate skin of ear canal and even worse it may injure the eardrum or if there is a wax chunk it may push deep into the eardrums.

Earwax needs to cleaned only when it obstructs the sound pathway to ear drum. When there is a feeling of fullness or blockage or plugged, there is a partial hearing loss there is ringing in the ears or tinnitus or noise in the ear or there is itching or odour in the ear.

Many times home remedies are useful to remove ear wax like instilling drops of mineral oil glycerine or commercially available drops. If not successful then it should be removed by ent surgeon. Ent surgeon may wash earwax out with warm water or saline. Sometimes ent surgeon may remove wax by suction or microinstruments under a microscope. There is no proven remedy for frequent wax impaction but it is very important to avoid inserting any object inside the ear to clean wax. Those who get frequent wax impaction or using hearing aids may need to see ent surgeon every 6 to 12 months to clean wax regularly.
