For loosing weight few tips on diet say no to maida items like toast, khaari ,naan ,white bread. Can drink tea but without sugar say no to Buffalo milk and can drink cows milk can eat brown bread can eat sprout's can eat green vegetables, can eat chappati ,bajra ka rotla can eat one katori of rice twice a day with dal to avoid farsan food items can eat fruits say no to coconut water.

Yesterday I did root cleaning for my teeth. Today afternoon I can see visible stains again. I don't have any bad habits. I ate only rice, dosa, fruits and chyawanprash in between. Can someone tell me why I am getting stains this fast?

Some people naturally hv lots of chromogenic bacteria in their mouth which causes staining of teeth v soon n also wen you hv heavily coloured food stuff n also coffee n tea n coloured cool drinks, they cause stains soon. After scalling it is adviced to avoid such food stuufs n drinks for at least a week as your fresh tooth surface tends to catch stains soon. Minor scratches on tooth also catches stains soon. These scratches can b removed by polishing n to a great extent by enamel microabrasion. Visit your dentist for the same. Meanwhile use whitening toothpastes such as snowdent.

When you think of what strikes you first about anybody, majority of people would say the smile. There is nothing more endearing than a warm, friendly smile. When you think more about it, the smile has a huge emotional component to it.  This is in addition to the esthetic and artistic value that a smile carries.  There are some people who are renowned for their smiles, which is said to be so bright, which led to the term '1000-watt smile', good enough to light up a big room!

Dentistry has evolved over the last few decades to play a major role in a person's appearance. From the shape and size of the teeth to the contour of the jaws and lips to the angle of the smile, there is something dentists can help with.  There are specific proportions that are believed to produce a perfect smile, width of the eyes, distance between the eyes, width of the mouth, etc. With more and people realizing that their smiles can be improved, the demand for these is also increasing.

The new development in improving smile is the Digital Smile Design (DSD) that was developed by a ceramician (technician involved in making ceramic crowns) in Brazil in 2007, Mr. Christian Coachman. This basically involves taking a series of digital photographs and videos of the patient. These are then transferred to the computer and analyzed for the various proportions mentioned above.  These images are then manipulated to achieve the correct proportions and reproduce a smile with the correct dimensions. To be doubly sure, these images are also shared with a larger group of dentists and then approval sought. 

Detailed discussions are held with the patient on how this will reflect once the change is done. Once changes suggested by the dentist are accepted by the patient and incorporated, then the patient's smile is reconstructed using the calculated analysis and post that the smile correction is done.  A successful digital smile design is a great example of teamwork as multidisciplinary teams from dentistry are involved.
The result is an enhanced smile that improves the patient's perception of beauty and also improves their confidence levels and feelings of self-worth and self-esteem. It is to be noted that what a person wants to express with his smile can be taken into account when designing a smile.

The major advantage of DSD is that there is no need for any special equipment and the digital equipment that is part of most dental setups is sufficient to design a smile. Smile designing is only poised to grow more popular in the coming years, with the greater focus on appearance and beauty.

Rukaiya it is important for for you to understand that You have not gained weight overnight. You have subclinical hypothyroidism please get a usg of abdomen and pelvis to know about the status of you ovaries. You may be having polycystic ovaries also. The calory intake has to be reduced to approx 1200. Exercise will be a must for you. Start walking you can also opt for orlistat Surgical options are always there but try not to interfere with nature.

I have a very dry skin and psoriasis on foot. I am using Proxisollic NF ointment on regular basis, if i stop for one or two days then it start spreading and swelling and paining. It starts like a small bobble and hitching heavy then spread. Can i get any permanent solution for this ?

Hi, I use to drink warm water with lemon and jeera, I heard lemon makes damage the teeth enamel, if it is true, please suggest me any other drink that I can take to remove toxins everyday.

Dear lybrate user, direct sucking on lemon or rubbing it to your teeth with the expectation of whitening them is harmful but taking it in diluted form in warm water won't cause damage. Lemon is a citrus fruit rich in vitamin C and is good for your gums. However, citrus fruits are acidic in nature and you should rinse your mouth after consuming them. But you are already taking it in water so don't worry. You can substitute it for green tea, it can be another alternative. 15 days lemon and water, 15 days green tea; it would be a good balance.

Hi… apply mixture of onion and lemon juice on the scalp, @take 200 ml of fresh buttermilk after meals, @take 30-40 black currants and 1 tsf of jaggery during meals, @take fresh juice of beet or pomegranate in morning instead of breakfast, @take 20 ml of BHRUNGARAJASAVA and 2 tablets of raktastambhak vati after meals, @use vatajatadi taila and rootz shampoo, do all these things for 30 days…it gives you good result…thanks.

My skin is too sensitive. I took medicines fr 4 yrs.in which I completed course of dermatologists. Its like as long as I take tablet. My skin is ok. When I leave medicines. D acne starts again. It is acne vulgaris. I am prone to big big acne .which last fr week if untouched and finally ends leaving a scar. I am taking med and peels and going for fractional n co2 treatment also. Bt I believe it is going to continue life long. When wud these acne stop? The skin is damaged. Patchy.scars. And uneven. Leaving a life long mark on face.

apply pranacharya face glow on your face for 15 minutes then wash it with warm water... Take pranacharya b clean syrup 2-2 tsf twice a day. Take pranacharya allergin capsule 1-1 twice a day. Wash your face with any good ayurvedic soap containing neem etc.......
