Hey I am 18 years old Long back, when I was around 4-5 years, my front tooth had a brownish yellow stain on it. I ended up covering it up wid a white paste kind of thing. But now after 13 years the paint seems to be wearing off, is it possible to reapply the paste?

Dear lybrate user To make hair grow you need to stimulate, moisturize, and cleanse. Use a soft bristle scrub brush for the face and use circular motions using a eucalyptus, menthol, and/or peppermint type cleanser or lotion. The invigoration of the brush and cleanser/moisturizer will wake up that hair follicles and gives them a signal to produce.

Hi Excess growth of facial hair in female is medically called Hirsutism. Main causes are Androgen Hormone imbalances. Many factor responsible for Hormone imbalances like PCOD, PCOS. If you have menstrual irregularities consult with Gynaecology specialist which would give permanent solution to your problems. Other treatment methods available are Laser Hair removal, Extraction, Topical creams and solutions. .etc. But it is advisable to consult specialist before committing. Waxing, Shaving, Plucked, Hair removal creams is not a permanent solution since hair will regrow and should do continously.

Sweating of palms is not uncommon, it may be anxiety stress. Take amitryptiline tab once at night may help you.

I am losing a hair quickly n I try all shampoos but not effect it. I am not sure what else can do. Can you hel me.

Before washing your hair, apply the juice extracted from crushed coriander (dhania) leaves. You can also use a mixture of curd and gram flour (chana atta) that should be kept-on for at least an hour before bathing.

Make sure that you apply a sunscreen lotion with spf 15-30 before stepping out in the sun, other it can lead to damages like sunburn, tanning, sun spots, skin cancer etc.

My wife , aged 26 was recently diagonised with Diabeties Type 2. Her family history has diabetes. But never expected that she would get it so soon. Her lifestyle is a normal one. Good sleep, regular home cooked food, rare junk food, no alcohol and physically fit. Almost at the same time of the diagnosis we observed stretch marks on her thighs and shoulders. They were almost overnight. Is this diabetes or anything else that's causing this?

Whenever we detect diabetes in young people, it's usually of type 1. Another possibility is an increased steroid levels in the body(called cushing's syndrome) which could explain the stretch marks and diabetes. I recommend you to consult a endocrinologist.

My daughter is suffering with pcod, is this curable? what precautions should I take? can you advise.

Pcod is disease of ovaries. This is not fully cured. But pregnancy do occurs in women with pcod. There are no specific precautions to follow. Proper diet at proper time and proper weight according to height are key for healthy living.

Precaution to have reduced saliva flow in mouth you have to maintain oral hygiene. Kindly ensure that you rinse after having meals. Brush twice a day, once in morning and after dinner and use listerine mouthwash twice a day morning and before going to bed. Visit your dentist once in six month for checkup and cleaning of teeth if required. For stomach pain you have to consult your family doctor.

I am 69 male I am unable to sleep at night as I have gastric problem it doesn't let me sleep?

Eat a high-fiber diet. Get insoluble and soluble fiber. Limit foods that are high in fat. Choose lean meats. Incorporate probiotics into your diet. Eat on schedule. Stay hydrated. 1. avoid caffeine found in coffee,tea , chocolate,cola,and some pain relievers.[four to six hours before bedtime.] 2. quiet, dark, and cool environment can help promote sound sleep. . [Use heavy curtains, or an eye mask to block light, and also keeping computers, TVs, and other work materials out of the room will help promote mental bonding between your bedroom and sleep] 3. Avoid stressful, stimulating activities like doing work, discussing emotional issues. Physically and psychologically stressful activities can cause the body to secrete the stress hormone cortisol, which is associated with increasing alertness.

Hi, I can suggest you some home remedy for hair fall which is troubling you like many others. Hair fall is very common these days and chemical lotions are best avoided 1.Take the white of one egg and mix in a teaspoon of olive oil. 2.Beat to give a paste-like consistency and apply to the entire scalp and hair. 3.Keep it on for about 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse with cool water and a mild shampoo. Here are some easy tips to help avoid hair loss. Another method is to apply Aloe Vera Aloe Vera gel also works wonders. Massage the scalp with aloe gel, leave in for a few hours and then wash with lukewarm water. Aloe gel, coconut milk and wheat germ oil make a great hair conditioning treatment to help fight hair fall. Massage it on the scalp to reduce hair fall. 1.Wash hair without shampoo. 2.Apply coconut oil and do not shampoo, and leave it to dry. It will not make your hair oily as it will dry up in minutes.. 3.Look at the ingredients to find a mild shampoo. 4.Use a good hairbrush. 5.Try a scalp massage. 6.Test your hair for thinning if you're concerned.

I am having dryness patches on my neck, near eyes, between lips and nose. Whenever I use betnovate N, it disappear but after some days it comes back. What should I do?

Hello, the dry patches need to be assessed in severity to advise medicinal creams if required. To control dryness, please use a mild cleanser like Cetaphil or Moiz as facewash twice a day. Apply Elovera or Venusia moisturiser immediately after bath and in evening. Avoid hot water baths. Don't use Betnovate N without Dermatologist supervision since it is a steroid and gives side effects like skin thinning, acne, sun sensitivity etc when used for more than 2-3 weeks.

I am 24 years old I work in core night shifts from 9.30 pm to 6.30 am. So daily am having my meals only twice a day at morning 9 am and in evening 7 pm day by day am feeling so weak and facing health issues so can you please advice me on how to maintain my diet and stay healthy.

Hye. Thanks for the query. Late night shifts affect not only weight but energy levels too. The odd timings are a stress on the body and if not managed right can lead to many lifestyle disorders. Avoid stimulants, such as caffeine and nicotine, before bedtime. If you're working nights and need to sleep from morning until afternoon, you might try to avoid caffeine after midnight. ·         To get uninterrupted sleep, when you do sleep. ·         Take a short nap before your shift. Napping for up to 30 minutes just before work or on a break may increase alertness and enhance your performance. ·         Stick to the routine. Go to sleep as soon as you can after work. ·         Avoid the use of sleep aids. Make healthy lifestyle choices: ·         Eat a healthy diet and include physical activity in your daily routine. ·         To maintain a nourishing diet, it’s vital to adjust your meal routine around your schedule. ·         If exercise seems to energize you, plan to work out after you wake up rather than before you go to sleep. ·          Resist the temptation to use tea, coffee, junk food or nicotine to stay awake or alcohol to get to sleep. ·         Do not skip meals. ·         To avoid taking in empty calories from vending machines or fast food, plan ahead. It is easy to eat to pass the time, but you’ll gain weight this way. Bring a healthy meal with you to work. ·         If your job is majorly desk-based, your metabolism may slow down during those long periods of inactivity, and you may find few opportunities for exercise. Use whatever free time you do have during the day for active pursuits. Set aside part of your lunchtime for some form of exercise. On other days of the week, try to do at least a 20-minute brisk walk.  ·         If you work at your desk for most of the day and have a predictable work routine, you may become bored and use food as a diversion. Take regular breaks from sitting at your desk to stretch your muscles and refocus your eyes from the computer screen or paperwork. This will relieve boredom and distract you from cravings for unhealthy snacks. ·         Snacking often in between work is normally on junk or sweets which can quickly add calories. Try to stock up on healthy snacks, dairy, nuts etc. ·         Don’t eat a huge meal right at the end of your shift. It will just lead to trouble digesting as well as disrupted sleep.  ·         Drink plenty of water throughout your shift.  ·         Take foods rich in complex carbohydrates which provide energy over a long period of time rather than quick sugar bursts that won't last too long. ·         Include protein rich foods to help repair you’re worn out muscles. ·         It is important to avoid fatty and greasy food at night, and control the intake of spicy food. ·         Eat a big meal at the start of your work schedule, and a moderate meal around midnight. ·         Before going to bed in the morning, you can eat a regular breakfast meal in a small quantity.

Prevent Dental Stains Without Chemicals

Do you wish your teeth were whiter? Some people have off-white teeth naturally, probably through their genetic inheritance. Others get stained teeth over time for a variety of reasons. If you would like to brighten your smile but don't want to put the time or money into commercially whitening them, here are a few suggestions for doing it on your own.

1. Limit your consumption of tea, which contains tannic acid. This substance can darken teeth gradually over time, as evidenced by the stains left in teacups used for serving this beverage. You also may want to cut back on cola products, which has a similar but lesser effect. Any foods with deep colors, like blueberries, can leave stains on your tooth enamel. So be sure to brush your teeth after eating foods like these.

2. Rinse your mouth after eating. For best results, try to rinse with water even after snacks, including pop or candy bars. This will prevent foods from sticking to or staying with your teeth, where they can adhere to the enamel and cause stains to appear gradually. At work, use the drinking fountain or bathroom sink for a quick rinse. The quicker you rinse, the better results you will have. Some people even carry small bottles of mouthwash for a quick gargle after lunch.

3. Brush your teeth at least twice a day. Morning and evening are the best times, or following two of your main meals. This will help to remove food bits that can cause discoloration or decay. You can use whitening toothpaste if you prefer, which will provide a low-key brightening effect on your teeth without the use of harsh chemicals or abrasive products. Ask your dentist to recommend a safe whitener for this purpose.

4. Ask about tetracycline substitutes. If you are prescribed tetracycline, a popular antibiotic, ask the doctor if there is a reasonable substitute, as tetracycline has been known to discolor patients' teeth, especially those who took it frequently or for prolonged periods of time. If you must take it, check with your dentist about how to combat the potential darkening effect it may have on your teeth. Other medications may have this effect, as well, so if tooth color is a problem, ask your doctor about the potential for discoloration for any prescription you receive, or simply inquire about those you should avoid.
