Local application of coconut oil or mustard oil or some soothing and calming lotion may provide relief in itching. Neem is one among the best blood purifier and detoxifier known to ayurveda. It enhances immune system and neem oil is an antiseptic in itself. Leaf extracts are used in antiseptics and can be effectively used in treating skin diseases.

How to Select Right Sunscreen

MD - Skin,VD & Lepxsy
Dermatologist, Hyderabad
How to Select Right Sunscreen

When selecting a sunscreen, make sure the label says:

  •     Broad spectrum: the words 'broad spectrum' means that the sunscreen can protect your skin from both types of harmful UV rays - the uva rays and the UVB rays.
  •     Spf 30 or higher: the aadmerican academy of dermatology recommends that you select a sunscreen with an SPF rating of 30 or higher.
  •     Water resistant: dermatologists also recommend that you look for the words 'water resistant.' this tells you that the sunscreen will stay on the wet or sweaty skin for a while before you need to reapply. Water resistance lasts either 40 or 80 minutes. Not all sunscreens offer water resistance.

Dear patient, homepathic medicines can treat and in long term cure the problem, atleast further growth of lipoma can be definitely stopped, you can send the photos of affected areas wherever they are seen, so that we can go ahead with the treatment.

Hi, see hair grows normally at a speed of 1.5 to 2 cm per month (if there is no medical condition). And minoxidil 2% will grow hair from those hair follicle which are dormant (and not from a dead follicle). Wait for another month's time to see the changes. Management: take diet rich in protein like non-veg, eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, vitamin b12, iron, zinc and omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin), different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. Walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, dates, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) take proper 6-9 hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water/ bore water to wash the head rather use already boiled water or drinking water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regularly massage head and hair with coconut oil, almond oil (depending upon your scalp type) 1 to 3 times a week. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you fit and young! medication: take homoeopathic medicines - schwabe's wiesbaden 200 & alfalfa tonic twice a day for 3 months. Use schwabe's arnica shampoo and hair growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use bakson's arnica hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Beside this, you can take one tablet of multivitamin folli hair once daily for 3 months.

You may be suffering from tinea cruris which is fungal infection of the inner thighs, groin and buttocks area. It can be treated by taking four to six weeks of anti fungal treatment which includes tablets along with creams. Do not use soap over that area. Mistreatment with over the counter Steroid containing creams like fourderm, panderm, quadriderm, hh zole, candid b etc lead to repeated case of recurrence and also side effects due to application. Do not use steroid containing combination creams. Please contact me using online consult option with photos for detailed prescription. Do not delay treatment as it may spread further on your body and also to other people living in the household.

My grandson aged8yrs suffers from dandruff. Please suggest home/ayurvedic remedy and oblige.

apple cider vinegar as a dandruff treatment, as the acidity of apple cider vinegar changes the pH of your scalp, making it harder for yeast to grow. Mix a quarter cup apple cider vinegar with a quarter cup water in a spray bottle and spritz on your scalp. Wrap your head in a towel and let sit for 15 minutes to an hour, then wash your hair as usual. Do this twice a week. or Aspirin contains the same active ingredient (salicylic acid) as many medicated dandruff shampoos. Keep flaking in check by crushing two aspirins to a fine powder and adding it to the normal amount of shampoo you use each time you wash your hair. Leave the mixture on your hair for 1-2 minutes, then rinse well and wash again with plain shampoo.

How to reduce hair fall and dandruff. I am currently 17 and I apply oil 3 times a week. Can you suggest me some other methods of reducing it, can I apply aloe vera gel on my scalp? Is it good for reducing hair fall?

Avoid using hairoil. You can use aloe vera gel to apply in hair. Hair fall can be due to weather change Avoid washing your hairs daily as it can cause your hair to become dry which leads to excessive hairfall. Washing twice a week is fine. You can use SHAMPOO SELSUN twice weekly. Apply it on scalp leave it for 15 min and wash it off. Keep your scalp clean, avoid them from pollution. You can try these: 1) Boil the dried Indian gooseberries in coconut oil till the oil turns black. Wait for it to cool, and then massage your scalp with this oil. Leave it on for about 20 minutes, and then shampoo as usual. 2) A balanced diet goes a long way in maintaining the overall health, including hair health. To combat hair fall, it is important to incorporate a balanced diet. 3) avoid stress 4) exercise regularly 5) stay hydrated 6) keep your scalp clean. Usually 100 hairs falling in a day is considered to be normal .Hairfall is the most common problem people are suffering from. Hair fall can be due to various reasons like dandruff, thyroid dysfunction, anemia, stress, nutritional deficiency.
