Diagnosis of ra is not solely dependent on blood tests. If you have early morning stiffness of the small joints of your hands including the wrists then it is likely that you are suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. If I would have been your doctor, I could have given you a test dose of steroids for a short period of 5 days and if you show a dramatic improvement, I would have stamped you as ra and started the classical therapy.

I am 49 years old. My uric acid level 12.5 when tested one month ago. I am suffering from pains in my feet since 3 months. I am feeling stiffness in my joints in the early morning times and over a period of inactivity. I am taking febuxostat 80mg. Is it gout arthritis or rheumatoid arthritis? I am afraid that it is rumatoid arthritis. Please clarify me.

With uric acid level 12.5mg%chances of its being gout are more. Aspirin could make it worse. Take medicines to control pain. Do gentle exercises to maintain normal range of movement.

Dear, low back pain are often referred for physical therapy for four weeks as an initial conservative (nonsurgical) treatment option before considering other more aggressive treatments, including back surgery. The goals of physical therapy are to decrease back pain, increase function, and teach the patient a maintenance program to prevent future back problems. Common forms of physical therapy include: 1.Passive physical therapy (modalities), which includes things done to the patient, such as heat application, ice packs and electrical stimulation. For example, a heating pad may be applied to warm up the muscles prior to doing exercising and stretching, and an ice pack may be used afterward to sooth the muscles and soft tissues. OSee Physical Therapy: Passive PT (Modalities) for Back Pain 2.Active physical therapy, which focuses on specific exercises and stretching. For most low back pain treatments, active exercise is the focus of the physical therapy program. This article focuses on active physical therapy and exercise as a means to help recover from back problems and prevent or minimize future flare-ups of low back pain Low back pain has lasted between two and six weeks, or if there are frequent recurrences of low back pain, physical therapy is often recommended. Some spine specialists consider physical therapy sooner, particularly if the pain is severe. •Read more: Exercise and Back Pain In general, the goals of physical therapy are to decrease pain, increase function, and provide education on a maintenance program to prevent further recurrences. A physical therapy program for back pain usually has two components: 1.Passive physical therapy to help reduce the patient's pain to a more manageable level 2.Active exercises Passive Physical Therapy - Modalities Acutely, the physical therapist may focus on decreasing pain with passive physical therapy (modalities). These therapies are considered passive because they are done to the patient. Examples of modalities include: •Heat/ice packs •TENS units •Iontophoresis •Ultrasound.

Back pain at your age is usually due to strain. Medications will give relief, they will not heal the problem. Try resting (lying down) for a few days, go for walks at least 1 hour a day afterwards.

Hi lybrate-user. As you have said you have hip arthritis I consider that you got diagnosed for it. If not get the check up and investigations done. Treatment depends on the findings of the radiographs and the integrity of joint. As you are telling it's 10-12 years don't delay more.

Try some remedies for joint pain: -ice packs can be used to soothe hot, swollen joints. -heat packs help to relax tense, tired muscles. -splinting of swollen or painful joints may be helpful, a physiotherapist or an occupational therapist (ot) may provide temporary splints for you. -pace yourself: overdoing things can increase your pain, but so can not doing enough. Your physiotherapist can advise you on increasing your activity level at a rate you can cope with and on finding the right balance between rest and activity. -take regular graded exercise: graded exercise starts slowly and increases in small steps. This will help you to strengthen your muscles and joints and increase your fitness. Improving your general fitness and stamina will help you to increase your activity level without increasing your pain. -mobilising, stretching and strengthening: your physiotherapist will assess your muscle strength and the range of movement in your joints, and advise on techniques and exercises so you can keep your joints working as well as possible. Best wishes.

Here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -stop normal physical activity for the first few days. This will help relieve your symptoms and reduce any swelling in the area of the pain. -apply heat or ice to the painful area. One good method is to use ice for the first 48 to 72 hours, and then use heat. Take pain relievers medicine. --while sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back for the first 6 weeks after the pain begins. -avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -stretching and strengthening exercises are important. But, starting these exercises too soon after an injury can make your pain worse. -some physiotherapy treatment like ift current can give you some relief. -a full history of your problem should be taken and your movements assessed by a physiotherapist. Please consult a physiotherapist for the same.

OATMEAL Oatmeal is an energy packed food that provides constant energy for hours. Oatmeal is an unprocessed, complex carbohydrate that your body digests slowly. Slow digestion keeps blood sugar at optimal levels and helps avoid the crash that typically comes with faster burning carbs. A bowl of oatmeal in the morning will keep you going strong through your day. SWEET POTATOES Sweet potatoes are hypoallergenic and the preferred source of post-workout carbohydrates for many athletes and bodybuilder who want to keep their energy stores up and body fat down. Starchy carbs like sweet potatoes eaten after a workout, act as a catalyst for protein to enter muscle tissue and begin the repair/rebuild process. Steam or bake a small or medium sweet potato to eat after your next workout. BANANA Banana has a combination of fiber and natural fruit sugars. Having a banana gives you instant energy and increases your stamina in a long run. For best results, eat them 20 minutes before you need a lot of energy. GREEN LEAFY VEGETABLES They are packed with micronutrients. It is essential for building stamina and also to improve your RBC count. Green leafy veggies are rich in fibre and digest slowly while maintaining your blood-glucose level. Eat a few boiled eggs within a 30-minute after your workout to see uptake in your stamina. SALMON Salmon is rich in omega-3 fatty acids and they have many health benefits like helping in burning fat, improving cardiovascular health, improving the body’s immune system, providing relief from pain and inflammation and helping in muscle maintenance. WALNUTS Are you a non-fish eater? Walnuts are another way of getting heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids. Grab a handful of walnuts before heading outdoors. COFFEE A cup of coffee before exercise will have a noticeable effect on stamina because of its caffeine content. Caffeine stimulates the central nervous system, which explains why so many people worldwide start their day with a cup of coffee. BEET JUICE This is one drink, which is loaded with energy and can help boost your stamina level tremendously. If you exercise after consuming beet juice, you will be able to exercise for longer durations because it is loaded with vitamins A, C and lots of mineral. Eat a lot of good things Protein = building block for your muscles Carbs will help you put on weight, but it won’t be muscle Keep track of everything you eat Compound exercises are your friend Appearance is a consequence of fitness Let your muscles rest Sleep Make it part of your routine Realize you will put on some fat U need to take a high protein high calorie diet.
