First of all check your posture when you are lifting any material like heavy bucket. And try to lift the heavy bucket without bending your back. You may lift the bucket after bending your knees only. This will definitely help you. * gentle massage with lukewarm mustard oil of your waist area will also give you relief. * surya namaskar is only exercise which you need to do. * in diet vegetable protein of cereal, b complex supplements and half teaspoon of haldi in a cup of milk for seven days will give you enough relief.

I am not able to sleep in night. I get sleep after 1/2 hours only. I am a very old patient of osto-artharirities. Doctors have alredy advised me rplacement of knee around 4 years back. But this new problem-- not able to sleep started recently.

I have chronic pain from neck to lower back. Have undergone mri and xrays but no such major problem was diagnosed. So I want a solution now so what should I do?

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again.. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Hello Lybrate user, as you mentioned that your feeling heaviness & discomfort at upper part of right knee. I would suggest if ther any pain, swelling,tenderness (pain while palpate), movements of knee reduced and painful, not capable of weight bearing. Do visit a physiotherapist for further ruling out condition. If ther no above situation. Do apply ice packs for 10-15 mins, put towel roll under your affected knee and try to press down towel activating quadriceps muscle n you will feel muscle is contracting ,hold this pressing down for 15 sec, 15 repetition. I am a 37 years old man having back ache problem. X ray shows lumbar spondylosis and mri shows diffuse disk bulge at l1 -l4 with degenerative change and schmorl node d10-d12. Please tell me about future consequences and advise further treatment. If government doctor tells that's not a problem and no treatment req then what to do medically as well as legally. If your pain is not going down the leg then the disc prolapse is probably minimal and not compressing on the nerves significantly. Get your vitamin d levels done fasting-it may be low. Also learn spinal extension exercises from a physiotherapist and do those 20 mins 3 times a day. Some pain killers will help in the interim period.

Take chandraprabha vati 1-1 tab twice a day. Take maharasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. Avoid tea. Coffee. Junk food. Spicy food. Fermented food. Walk for atleast 30 minutes a day. Avoid alcohol consumption. Smoking and non vegetarian. Drink lots of juices and plenty of water. Eat green vegetables and salads. Do pranayama early in the morning. Sleep for atleast 7 hours.

Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day.

Hi 1) wear comfortable sports shoes 2) make daily routine of exercise 3) rule out calcium and vit d deficiency 4) do proper warm up before exercise and cool down after exercise 5) do stretching of legs do exercise under supervision of skilled physiotherapist. Do the cat/cow avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretchingstretch.

Hello lybrate-user, get a mri done to pin point the cause and site of pain. Meanwhile go for ayurveda's panchkarma therapy - we have many option for you - kati basti (specialised panchakarma procedure for backpains), localised massgae with herbal oils, localised medicated steam, pottali massage. Continue these procedures for atleast 15 days. Regular oiling of the joint will improve the lubrication also. These procedures will relax your back muscles and give strength to your nerves and muscles of back. Also start some yogic exercises - tadasana, dhanurasan, halasana along with these therapies. This will greatly help. Please avoid pushing / pulling heavy objects, long sittings, long two-wheeler drives. Although some herbal medicines might also help you but after proper history taking.. Please update with your valuable feedback after 15 days.\

Multivitamins can be taken if you want but they will not relieve your back pain. Backache in young age is commonly due to 1. Muscle strain resulting from improper posture. 2. Intervertebral disc bulge or prolapse. Follow these treatment guidelines to get relief. 1. Sit with straight back and change posture in between. Do not hunch and feet should rest on floor while seated. 2. Take breaks in between work and walk. 3. Take rest when back pain is severe but avoid total bed rest. 4. Do back strengthening and stretching exercises daily. 5. Take anti inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen if pain is persistent. 6. Apply analgesic cream over back followed by warm fomentation. 7. Keep pillow behind your knees at bedtime. 7. Do not bend and lift weights. 8. If back pain is accompanied with radiating leg pain or tingling , numbness or weakness, consult immediately .

Quadriceps Exercises- Lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core Strengthening Exercise- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.
