My teeth become very yellowish especially back side of front teeth despite I brush them regularly. What I should do.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with whitening (bleaching or laser) procedures and / or artificial enamel filling. Advance procedure can be done with laser too. You may consult me in person too. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

Hello I have found the capital limits but can't anything about income assessment for HC2 or 3 - ie full or part help with dental costs. Does anyone have a rough idea of maximum income for eligibility? I'm over 60 and have both a state pension AND a supplementary pension so don't know if it is.

BDS, Non-Resident J.R. in Dept. of Orthodontics, Certified oral implantologist, Advanced Aesthetics, Digital Smile Designer
Dentist, Jammu
Certificate hc2 means that you will not need to pay the following health costs: prescription charges; nhs dental charges; eye tests, glasses and contact lenses; travel to hospital for nhs treatment; wigs and fabric supports. Certificate hc3 provides partial help with some of these health costs.

Enjoy a wide variety of nutritious foods.
Proper nutrition is necessary for healthy teeth and gums. Eating a well-balanced diet gives gum tissues and teeth the important nutrients and minerals needed to stay strong and resist infections. Soft, sticky foods tend to remain on the grooves and between teeth
As and sweets, limit their intake (especially between meals).
When you do snack, choose nutritious foods such as cheese and dry crackers, vegetables, natural yogurt or fresh fruit.Choose plain milk instead of flavoured milk.

Use fluoride toothpaste at least twice a day especially before you go to sleep at night.(but avoid using with boring water) -
Use floss to clean between your teeth.

Gingivitis (Gum DIsease)

BDS
Dentist, Jodhpur
Gingivitis (Gum DIsease)
Gingivitis is an early gum disease. It affects the surface layers of the gum, particularly where the gum meets the tooth. At this stage, there is no damage to the deeper parts of the gums, teeth or bone.

The signs of gingivitis are:
1. Bleeding gums, especially when brushing or eating
2. Redness and swelling of the gum.

The good news is that gingivitis can be reversed.
You might think it is best to stop brushing if your gums are red or puffy. Try to keep brushing, as this will get rid of the bacteria and plaque that is causing the problem. Soon the gums should look and feel better. If not, see your dentist for proper treatment.

Hi am 26 .facing gums swelling and bad smell problem. While am using gum paints and all. But there is no effect. please do suggest some better treatment or tips to overcome this.

BDS
Dentist, Vadodara
bleeding gums are sign of infection due to deposit of plaque and calculus on teeth. get scaling and polishing done. use mouthwash twice daily after brushing. bad breath is the sign of dry mouth or infection in throat. increase your water intake. take water at regular intervals. avoid aromatic foods like onions and garlic at night. use mouthwash twice daily. reduce your intake of caffeinated drinks like tea or coffee.

Hi I was just coming out of a terrible flare up for 2 days. And today I went to the doctors to get some anti depressant pills. I then had to go to the dentist. I thought I would have a coffee in costa. I saw a very small granola bar. I asked if it had sugar in it and they said no. I purchased.

Dentist, Thane
stop eating at the bar , come to the normal home cooked food.. try having liquid form of curd (lassi salted) that will help to calm down the flare.

I have spike like structure in mouth at esophagus cavity since last 3 year. I have many medicine and treatment as Dr. per advice but it problem is as it is. please help.

BDS
Dentist, Lucknow
You have mentioned that you are anemic. In anemia there is a condition called plummer vinson syndrome (pvs) which explains the spike like structures in your mouth. There might be other few symptoms in like burning sensations in mouth, difficulty in swallowing, weakness. Although the cause for this disease is still unknown but believe could be due to genetic factors our severe nutritional deficiencies. You need to go on iron supplements and may be for mechanical widening for esophagus. Consult a physician fro further help.
