I have lower left side back pain and left leg pain. While stretching back the knee the pain is there, I feel like some thing is stretching in leg while walking or stretching.

As per your description if you back pain aggravate by walking and stretching mostly it is due to compression in your nerves - sciatica disease you have to be take precaution like maintain normal posture while sitting. Avoid long sitting and long route driving. Avoid forward bending. Take care of your digestive system means you shouldn't have constipation or gas problem. Apply some medicated oil on your back and do hot fomentation.

My sister is 11 years old, few weeks she was experiencing severe leg pain and hip pain and legs changing size (a kind of handicapped or twisted condition), Once the pain reduces the legs regain the normal posture. This condition repeated about 3 times till now. What is the reason for this. Medical practitioner of which department should be consulted in this case.

Back ache can be due to several reasons. It can be muscular, related to disc degeneration or prolapse, joint irritation or nerve pinching. Most common is muscle pain due to tight and weak back and abdominal muscles. Keep a positive attitude, focus more on keeping good posture especially when sitting for long hours, use lumbar support. Take frequent breaks and stretch in between. Try changing sleeping habits. Try hot or cold therapy as tolerated. Wish you speedy recovery.

Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

I have very much of back pain, I had stones in my kidneys, how can I get relief from this back pain?

Hi lybrate-user, please get an ultrasound of abdomen. If the stones are large or causing obstruction (hydronephrosis), they can cause back pain. Then it will need treatment based on size and location. However, small 3 to 5 mm stones and non-obstructing stones usually do not cause back pain. In that case, you have to get evaluated and treated for other causes of back pain. The current options for kidney stones include medical therapy for small stones (< 5 mm), lithotripsy or flexible ureteroscopy with laser for medium sized stones and pcnl (percutaneous nephrolithotomy) for large stones. yes Arnica is a gud medicine but besides this Ferrum and sanguinaria, rhus tox are also gud. it will depend on what symptoms you have.

According your age x-ray must. You can tk muscle relaxant medicine and heat fermentation twice a day and do spinal extension exercise avoid forward bending long sitting, standing and lift heavy weight if it works then ok otherwise physiotherapy must.

I am 39 y old suffering from spondylosis for the last 4 yrs. Severe at first ie 2011 year. Mild now if with hard controlled of lifting heavy weight. But could not fully recover. What should I do to recover fully back? life is so hard with this.

Spondylosis is best managed by physiotherapy and no role of drugs is there. Exercises, tractions, collar or belt support as the case may be and some relaxing gels and painkillers are the best things a surgeon can give. Main role is of physio n support only. Vaidyas are blessed with the advantage of suggesting some herbal applications and oral med those not only relax muscles but also strengthen them and help maintaining proper gap in ivd spaces. But again support of area and physiotherapy can't be dispensed away. No pain killers in ayurveda. Long duration in both pathies are reqd but ayurveda will not have bad effects. Choice is yours.

Hello lybrate user, back pain that is associated with day time sedentary jobs like computer professional s are associated with paraspinal muscle spasms. The best way to tackle this sort of pain is to do well spaced stretching exercises of the back, back extension exercises, using hot water bags to provide relief and avoiding stooping posture while sitting. Posture also plays a very important part in back pain, always maintain a straight posture while sitting. While getting up from the bed try to first go on your left or right side of the body and get up side ways. Avoid cruntches or sit-ups: they may increase the pressure on your back and may predispose to slip disc. Always maintain a healthy lifestyle in terms of regular brisk walking, meditation, eating healthy. P. S: try to avoid pain killers (analgesics) as much as possible as many are associated with side effects that you may not be aware of. Stay healthy. Stay happy god bless you.

Cramps means difficiency of electrolytes. Have proper salt intake. Drink plenty of water. Go for hot fomentaion of your limbs take balanced diet. Add milk. Green veg. You can also take ors and if pain is excessive take tab tromanil -mr (twice a day) when required for instant relief.

Dear lybrate user, according to your symptoms, it seems that you are suffering from acidity and over exertion. You should avoid at present heavy oily spicy and junk food. Drink plenty of watery take ocid 20 empty stomach one cap. Daily and stemetil twice daily. Regarding back pain, check your posture. Do not lift weight. Take arnica 200 once daily five drops in water for three days.
