Requires detailed examination and investigation. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Quadriceps strengthening exercises- Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You have got pains at multiple joints in the body. My advise to you will be: - catch hold of a good physical therapist and start your exercises - concentrate initially on isometrics for neck region, general conditioning and abdominal strengthening ex - do daily walks for about 2-3 km ( brisk walks) everyday - take adequate calcium and vitamin d ( as per deficiency) - you can use tab ultracet 1 tab sos in case of pain. Please also send me certain tests like: cbc, esr, crp, serum electrolytes, serum vitamin d levels and dexa scan to evaluate your bone density. I presume certain issues in you must be related to degeneration in joints and there could be some inflammation as well. But if you start doing your exercises, try a healthy lifestyle some these issues will get solved by itself. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Dear lybrate-user for jaundice consult to physician and for knee pain use hot pack 15 minutes twice a day and use ointment, strengthening exercise of knee, roll big towel, put under knee press towel tight your knee hold 5 sec repeat 10 times.

Hi lybrate-user, hair fall/loss can be due to variety of causes. However, many of them can be controlled and dealt with. Most common cause is nutrient deficiency which can be rectified my oral medications and supplements. There are medicines available for local application which are also known to give significant results. Treatments like mesotherapy, microneedilling and prp show significant long term effects. I am 53, (1) recently got spondylitis on right shoulder. I have to work on computer for hours together. (2) my middle and 2nd finger, middle joint is paining when pressed.

It is of cervical spondylitis and meta carpal syndrome so do have clinically examined by neuro physiotherapist or orthopaedician asap and have physiotherapy treatment of tens of 12 days of 15 minutes duration and learn stretching exercise for cervical shoulder elbow wrist joints and do it regularly for 15 minutes per day once pain subsides or consult me privately via lybrat. I have fallen at home 1year back and cannot walk properly, doctors said it was the problem of siatica that the blood circulation in my left leg was low. So I went through the surgery to my l4-l5 40 days back. What are the precautions and diet? still iam not ok, symptoms were same as before surgery.

Fever is not considered medically significant until body temperature is above 100.4 F (38 C). Fever serves as one of the body's natural defences against bacteria and viruses which cannot live at a higher temperatures.Also, the body's defence mechanisms seem to work more efficiently at a higher temperature -Fevers of 104 F (40 C) or higher may be dangerous and demand immediate treatments like: -Acetaminophen (dolo-650 mg) twice or thrice can be used to lower a fever . Aspirin should not be used for fever in children/ adolescents or during a viral illness. -Wear loose fitting clothes and don’t overdress. Overdressing can cause temperature to rise further. -Tepid water (85 F [30 C]) bathsmay help bring down a fever  -The body should be cooled with a wet sponge. -A fever can cause severe dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids.. Have citrus fruits, particularly Vitamin C rich ones like mausami,Amla juice etc.  -Take light and easily digestible home cooked meals .avoid outside food -Wash hands frequently with soap and water especially after returning from public places or public transport.  -Further therapy depends on the cause of fever like urinary infection/typhoid or malaria/dengue infection and the accompanying symptoms that need to be investigated and treated accordingly

Along this journey of BPH / Urine retention / Tamsulosin / Urolift, etc etc. I have for the last 3 months been dealing with lower back pain, it's pretty much constant and when I get up from sitting or from bed I am stooped over a few minutes until I can get straightened out then I seem to be ok.

Hello lybrate user, if you are still on medications for problems you have mentioned better go through only external care for your lower back like - apply ksheerabala taila/ dhanwantara taila and keep hot water bag over there for 15min which will relive you from back pain and strengthen your back bones as such. Hi = relax and stay positive. = increase fluid intake. = eat seasonal fruits for natural vitamins = do stretching of hamstring, quadriceps, and calf muscles. = if you are overweight, reduce weight by cycling or swimming as it gives low impact on joints. = do check your calcium and vit. D = apply moist heat pad to affected joint and muscles. If still you dont get relief see a physiotherapist as there are various causes for leg/ joint pain and some test may be required for further investigation. Best wishes.

Hi , running cannot be started all of sudden u may need some leg muscle strength. Before running, sports gear check is very important. Your shoes should have good shock absorption. Then u need quadriceps, hamstring, calf muscle and gluteal strength is very important. Drink lot of water to reduce uric acid initially. Consult physician for further management.

Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Hello lybrate-user, Your symptoms are calling for the investigations related with arthritis to be done. These are not due to water loss due to diarrhea. The Diarrhea and the other symptoms told by you may not be related with each other. In your case some investigations related with arthritis are mandatory. And consult a doctor for further treatment.
