I have spot and pimples on my face Please trying to suggest me the reason of this and how I removed permanently.

Homeopath, Secunderabad
Usually the pimples subside naturally as you grow up. In some cases it becomes troublesome as they also get infected. Keep the face clean by washing with a mild soap once or twice a day. Rest of the times you can use plain cold water. Do not keep touching the skin with your hands and do not pinch them as that may aggravate the pimples. If there is a chronic tendency (keeps getting stubborn) then one can try homeopathy which handles the symptoms gently by changing the inner system to heal naturally.

My wife had cesarean delivery on 30 November 15 with horizontal cut. Now she have to perform a 500km road journey by car after 9 days of surgery. 1-Is it safe for her? 2-Otherwise how many days she should wait for journey?

General Physician, Chandigarh
It's not advisable to take such a long journey so soon after delivery you should give a gap of atleast 6weeks.

4 Ways to Control Your Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Psychiatrist, Delhi
4 Ways to Control Your Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

4 ways to control your obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a type of anxiety disorder in which a person has recurring thoughts and feels the urge to perform certain specific tasks at regular intervals.

Living with OCD can very difficult and medications or therapy alone cannot guarantee complete recovery. The patient himself/herself has to take certain steps to win against the disease.

Here are some measures you can take to control the symptoms of OCD to recover faster.

1. Accept the truth

If you cultivate an accepting approach towards the fact that you are suffering from OCD and will experience obsessive thoughts then it will be easier to cope with the situation. You have to convince yourself that the recurring thoughts and compulsions you're having are not real, do not imply anything and will go away soon. This helps you maintain an optimistic approach and accelerate your recovery process.

2. Try to postpone your compulsions

When you have the urge to do certain ritualistic tasks try not to give in to them. Try to suppress the urges by saying to yourself that you will do it later and then involve yourself in normal day to day activities so that the compulsions can't rule you anymore.

3. Divert your attention

When you feel that you are having a recurring thought or compulsion, try to distract yourself by channelizing your thoughts towards some other activity. You will find that as you engage yourself in other activities, the obsessive compulsive thoughts will lose their impact on you and will prove to be less bothering.

4. Tell yourself that ocd is one of the most insignificant things of your life

Reduce the amount of value you impart to the disorder. Try to convince yourself that ocd cannot change your way of living life and you don't need to give in to your recurring thoughts and compulsions every time. Try to believe that you will not let this disorder affect your life in anyway and it's just your brain bringing these thoughts, not you.

Day by day my memory power is becoming weaker. For last 7 years. I forget everything very soon. Not able to concentrate on studies due to forgetfulness. Forget everything any address name of person. Things in market. What I have to do. And also too much hair fall. And always thinking of sex. And nightfall more than 3 time in week. So please tell me why this happens and medicines.

MBBS, MD - Psychiatry, MBA (Healthcare)
Psychiatrist, Davanagere
Hi there ~ nightfall happens in 50% of men and it is usually more common in adolescence and young adulthood. Therefore you should not be worrying about this as it is not a problem at all. It in fact means that you are sexually healthy. You need to consult a dermatologist for hairfall, however get a t3/t4/tsh done as it may be a common denominator for both depression, loss of memory/concentration as well as hairfall. Take care and have a lovely day! sincerely

Sir tell me which fruits help for weight loss and taking only fruits at night lead to weight loss or not.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), MD (AM), PGDPPHC, ACLS
Alternative Medicine Specialist, Chandigarh
Fruits are high in fiber which help feel full if taken at night but also have unwanted calories if you are trying to lose weight. Still the low sugar fruits can be had in moderate amounts such as guava, apple, orange, papaya etc.

I have black spots well as pimples on my back. I used scar removal cream for 4 months but did not see any change.

Homeopath, Raebareli
Use lemon Juice for acne scars •Take a fresh lemon and squeeze out its juice. Apply this juice directly on your scars with finger tips or a cotton ball, leave it for ten minutes and wash it off with water. Do this once a day for two to three weeks during which you can see your scars diminish considerably. If you want, you can also mix honey with your lemon juice to make it some more effective in reducing the acne scars. •If your skin is very sensitive, dilute lemon juice by mixing some rose water and then apply on your scars. •You can even mix a teaspoon of lemon juice with two teaspoons of Vitamin E oil and then apply this to your acne scars. Vitamin E is a very good emollient with lots of antioxidants that protects and even improves your skin texture.

I am 21 years old and i am suffering from heavy cholesterol what should I do to reduce that?

MBBS, MD - Internal Medicine
Internal Medicine Specialist, Faridabad
High cholesterol can cause atherosclerotic heart disease or narrowed coronary arteries in the heart can cause the symptoms of angina, when theheart muscle is not provided with enough oxygen to function. Decreased blood supply to the brain may be due to narrowed small arteries in the brain or because the larger carotidarteries in the neck may become blocked. This can result in a transient ischmic attack or stroke. Peripheral artery disease describes gradual narrowing of the arteries that supply the legs. During exercise , if the legs do not get enough blood supply, they can develop pain , called claudication . Other arteries in the body may also be affected by plaque buildup causing them to narrow, including the mesenteric arteries to the intestine and the renal arteries to the kidney. Avoid fast foods, oily foods, junk foods, alcohol, smoking, fatty foods, non-veg.,avoid stress, take green veg., whole grain.garlic,. Take anti cholesterol medicines .

My hair is too dry and sticky. After bath it turns into softy but only 15 mins, again it changes dry and sticky. In my childhood its not like tis. Now I'm using sunsilk shampoo+conditioner. Now ok. But I need permanent solution.

MD - Dermatology
Dermatologist, Pathanamthitta
Your hair needs a lot of your attention and care. Wash hair occasionly. Use lukewarm water, not too hot, not too cold. Shampoo hair twice or thrice a week and not more. Use very mild shampoos suitable for dry hair. Massage scalp to improve circulation and hair health. Eat right. Eat plenty of pulses, meat, fish, milk and milk products. Dry hair naturally and not with blowdryers. Dry hair with towel. Avoid crimping, perming straightening and curling hair devices. Avoid repeated colouring and bleaching of hair. Protect hair from excess sunlight with caps. Exercise regularly. Practice yoga to destres .stop using smoothing products on your hair. They vil worsen your hair.

Hello sir my hairs r very long but from few days my hairs are falling everyday which is not done before. So what to do to stop hairfall? I do not drink do not even smoke.

Vaidya Visharad

I find this one the hardest! Caffeine is a diuretic, which makes you urinate out more liquid than you take in causing dehydration. Dehydration of your body and hair roots is another key reason for hair loss. Replace your daily coffee intake with a fruit beverage, milk or any other non-caffeinated drink to those shiny and healthy hair.

I take bp medicines and have borderline sugar. I work a lot on computers. I wear specs with power 1.75. Sometimes vision gets hazy and I can only see outlines. After taking rest for about 1 hr, it becomes normal. What do I do?

MBBS, MD - Community Medicine, diploma clinical cardiology
Cardiologist, Jaipur
I think you need to take adequate rest in between atleast for 15 minutes after a hour of continuous work. Don't do continuous work on computer. Get your bp and sugars checked timely. Be regular at your family doctors office and take treatment as per his advice. Lastly 3 things for healthy living 1. Positive thinking 2. Healthy eating 3. Daily walking. Thanks

Hey doctor. Im 23. I have been noticing receding gums for about 3 years now. I heard these problems are caused in 40s or so. But im too young for this. Is there any home remedy or medicines to cure receding gums and grow back gum line? Im scared of flap surgery. Any painless medical treatment? Please reply ASAP.

Dentist, Purnia
Hi lybrate-user Gums can recede at any age though more common in elderly. Recession can be slowed or stopped only if the cause is removed. In your case it may be due to improper oral hygiene, calculus, improper brushing ,trauma from occlusion, high frenum etc. So I will advise you better Get it evaluated and corrected than to wait for home remedies because it can be too late.
