I am a 21 year old man and I have severe back pain from last two weeks, what can I do as a home remedy?
Back pain may be due to strain, sprain, weather change etc. *Avoid bending forward while working on lap top or for any other work. *Don’t sit continuously working on laptop etc. Get up periodically and move around. *Restrict bike driving as far as possible. *Don’t carry laptop or any load on your shoulder. Carrying very light loads equally with both hands is better *Sit straight so that back bone gets proper support. A dining chair is better than a laid back sofa. *You can use mustard oil for massage which is good in winter season for relieving pain. Eucalyptus oil is also good *Soft bed will not give proper support to your back bone. Hard bed with thin mattress and thin pillow is better. *Get yourself tested whether you have spondylitis problem. Homoeopathy has a good treatment for this without adverse effects. To start with, take Rhus tox 200--once daily in the morning and evening for 6 days.

First you reduce weight. Change food habites. Avoid too oily, ghee prepretions fast, spacy, junck foods. Take simpal veg home made food with salad, take fiber food. Reduce some soalt from your daily foods. Take calcium, vitamines, minirales. Take calcium k2 7 capsule with milk after dinner. Use knee caps. Do arobic excersices, yoga, walking, cycling will help.

My daughter start complaining knee pain at night from last fifteen days so we go to our pediatric doctor he suggests some test S.calcium Vitamin d Hb Which comes as Hb 13.3 S.calcium 10.3 Vitamin d 10.5 Otherwise she is fine walk normally no pain after pressing So he suggests vitamin d pouch once daily for 10 days Is this is very serious problem And when she can attain normal vitamin d in her body with suggested treatment.

Deficiency of vitamin D is usually due to insufficient nutrition or poor exposure to sunlight. With supplements it would improve. An x-ray of knee should also be taken to see whether there is flaring of bone margins if deficiency is since long. Its curable with timely medications. Give her fortified foodstuffs rich in vitamin D.usually milk and milk products provide it and exposure to sun for hour daily.

I am 47 years old and having back ache for the last 7-8 years and got mri done with the result impingement of nerve at s1 level of l3 l4 and taking medicine like pain killer etc and nerve relaxant. Got physiotherapy done many times. Please advice.

Not all patients of backache & pain joints need surgery. Most of them can be managed without operation morning stiffness is quite a common condition. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Use no pillow under the head. Any way take caldikind plus (mankind) 1tab odx10days paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days do back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take.

As you have an acl injury your stability to the knee joint will be reduced. I would firstly suggest you to wear a knee cap as you walk or climb stairs. Secondly I will list down a few important exercises which you should do daily morning and evening. If you do these exercises you will develop good muscle strength that will support and hold your knee from further damages. Secondly you will improvise on joint proprioception (joint sense) which is important as the knee has to understand various movements. You should also aim for good knee movements and build up the tone of muscles. Let me list the exercises that you could do for the knee. > press your knee down on a towel for about 10 to 15 seconds. You should be in the lying down position. Hold and then release your knee. > press your heel down on a towel again in the lying down position. You must hold the heel in the pressed position for 10 to 15 seconds. > lie down and raise your leg to about 45 degrees and hold for 15 seconds. This will build up quadriceps strength. > start bending your knee in the lying down position and in the sitting position. You must be aware of sitting on a high seat so that your knee will bend much more. > you could use a theraband which has a little resistance so that you can bend your knee with some resistance. > squeeze a towel inbetween your kness in the lying down position. Kindly follow all these exercises so that you will gain good strength to the knee and you attain good stability to the knee so that you can get back to walking jogging and playing once again. As far as possible please dio these exercises so that you could also avoid surgery. Please get back to me after two weeks.

Dear doc After sleep or while sleeping, I am having kind of pain in my shoulder. I am unable yo move my arm quickly, it hurts the knuckle joint. First you thought it may b due to the exercise, I was doing in gym, though I was lifting light weight. But from last 3 day I even did not go to gym. It always hurts only in left knuckle joint after or while sleeping. So I myself thought that it may be due to inappropriate sleeping position or the size of pillow. What according to you can b possible cause? How can I get rid of that? What is the perfect height of pillow ghat I must use and also the sleeping position? Could the cause be due to gymnastic, And if it is due to gymnastics, then should I stop doing exercise? But I really don't want to stop exercise Please help.

No 1: Rotator Cuff Isometrics it's really three exercises, but the simple, basic isometric exercise is too often over looked and under used. This is a shame as I find it very effective in reducing a lot of shoulder pains in many people that it rightly deserves my No 1 spot despite them being perceived as boring and simplistic nature. Although recently they are gaining some popularity and credibility again. Isometric exercises for those non therapists reading, is when a muscle/tendon is asked to contract but there is no movement of the joint and so no change in the length of the muscle/tendon, just like when you flex your pecs and biceps in the mirror after a shower… No! just me that does that then, ok moving on…! In my clinic I see a lot of people with acute shoulder pains brought on usually after an increase in activity, sport or training and most I beleive have a reactive cuff tendinopathy. Most of these shoulders have quite high pain levels for the first few weeks and we know that isometrics are great for reducing pain (source) and they do produce some significant forces and tension in the cuff, so can be thought of beginning the needed loading program. There are lots of variations and I don't think it matters too much how you do them, it's more important how hard and how much you do them, more on this in a bit. The isometric exercises I usually give are a'Back of the hand Wall Press' used when I suspect a more superior cuff tendinopathy, it's done simply by standing next to a wall and pressing the back of the hand into the wall in the scapular plane (called Scaption) at approx 30° of abduction.

My son of age 8 year has a popliteal bursa at left knee joint back from last 3 years. Doctor suggest to operate it. Shall any problem if we do it after the age of 18. There is any other treatment except operation? please suggest me.

If you have sinusitis do steam inhalation. Take paracetamol for joint pain. If no relief You have to take antibiotic after consulting doctor

Apply hot fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural correction- sit tall, walk tall. Extension exercises x 15 times x twice daily. Bhujang asana. Core strengthening exercises. Back stretching. Do the cat/cow stretch.

Hi I am 32 years old mother of one kid. I am a banker by profession. I am experiencing lower back pain from 10-15 days. My work profile is such that I spend most of my time sitting and working on computer. I spend 8-9 hours daily at office, most of the time sitting in front of computer. Get mri of knee. It should be good quality 3 tesla machine. There may be meniscus or ligament injury.
