If stomach acid moves backward up the esophagus, reflexes result in spasm of the airways that can cause shortness of breath and coughing. 1. Eat well – Take a balanced Diet comprising of 45% carbohydrate, 30% protein and 25% protein, plenty of green leafy vegetables, fruits. Don’t over eat. Avoid junk, spicy, oily, high calorie, cholesterol rich diet, don’t skip your breakfast. Take warm, homemade food. Avoid food and drink from outside. Don’t skip or postpone your meal. Minimize consumption of refined grains like white rice, white bread, sugary or refined food. 2. Keep hydrated- Drink 2 liters /6-8 glasses of water daily 3. Do regular exercise for one hour daily like brisk walking/Jugging etc 4. Take adequate rest- 7-8 hours of sound sleep in the night is required to remain healthy 5. Avoid stress, anxiety, depression, agitation etc 6. Find time for relaxation and enjoyments with friends and family 7. Practice yoga, meditation and deep breathing exercise to calm your mind, control emotion, improve concentration and relieve stress 8. Hye, thanks for the query. Being, a diabetic it is best advised to have a diet planned as per the sugar levels, lifestyle and history. Though you can follow some guidelines - the sugar levels will fluctuate depending on what you ate or did not eat, stress levels and activity levels. You have to try and manage a balanced carb intake. Have small frequent meals. Do not fast for long hours. You have to eat 3 main and 3 mid meals. Your diet must include whole grains, seasonal fruits, vegetables, small amounts of nuts and dairy and pulses or dals or lean meats like chicken or fish and egg. Starchy vegetables need to be planned into the diet. Avoid a very heavy meal at one time. Long gaps consequent heavy meals lead to not only hyperglycemia but gas as well. Avoid fruit juices, aerated drinks or sugarcane juice, honey, jaggery or sugar. Avoid junk foods. Exercise and stay active. Avoid exercise if sugar levels are above 250 mg/dl. Do not attempt to try out too many remedies as you could go into hypoglycaemia. Sleep well. It's all a matter of discipline. I would advise you to take a personalised consultation.

1. Drink 100-500 ml of tender coconut water twice a day for relief from hyperacidity Mix equal parts of powdered fennel, licorice root, basil leaves and coriander seeds. Have ½ teaspoon of this mixture with ½ teaspoon of powdered rock candy (or unrefined sugar) 15 minutes before lunch and dinner. 2.Make a powdered mixture of equal parts of rock candy (or unrefined sugar), fennel, and green cardamom. Whenever you feel heartburn, mix 1 teaspoon of the mixture in a glass of cold milk and drink. 3.Avoid tea, coffee, and carbonated or alcoholic beverages.Especially stop drinking bed tea. 4.Avoid using garlic, ginger, onions, tomatoes, and vinegar in cooking. 5.Curd should be strictly avoided at night. 6. Practice Yoga and Pranayama such as Vajrasana, Bhujangasana, Salabhasana, Bhastrika Pranayama,Shitali Pranayama and Shitkari Pranayama. 7.Drink plenty of fluids and water. 8. Avoid constipation. 9. Revert back after 10 days. Take Care.

Dear lybrate-user, Kidney disease needs special dietary attention to maintain creatinine, potasium, sodium and phosphorus levels. Constipation and loose stools may be due to irritable bowel syndrome. Hello. You can hav avala and giloy juice 20ml twice a day empty stomach. Hav your meals on proper time. Try to do yoga daily to get good result in your problem.

There is heavy pain on anus while passing motion since 7 days. I consulted doctor and having tablet & Ointment. But there is no improvement. Yesterday I noticed little blood in my motion. Still I feel irritation in my anus. Please provide me a proper solution? Is this piles?

Dear friend, from the symptoms you have described you might be suffering from either fissure in ano or piles, as both of them can cause similar symptoms. Only by a physical examination a correct diagnosis can be made. I suggest along with the tablet and ointment that your doctor has prescribed please start taking some laxative. Also increase intake of fruits and salads in your diet. Drink at least four laters of water every day. One more thing that will help you is to sit in warm water, pour warm water in a big plastic tub and sit in it for about 20 minutes in the morning and evening. It will give you quick relief. If all the above measure do not work then please meet a surgeon and get operated. Best wishes.

DEAR Lybrate USER. A) Take 10-10ml of fresh lemon juice and honey before meal. B) take 4 tablets of sutshekhar rasa after meals���. C) eat 10 gm of AJOVA SEEDS along with 10 gm of jiggery after meals��� D) take 30 ml of aloe vera juice and 30 ml of lukewarm water at night before sleep. Do all these things for 15 days. Dear lybrate user, you are suffering from dysmenorrhoea which can be due to various reason (pathological) and functional eventhough however to rule out you need few pathological tests to be conducted. For now you can use the medicine mag phos 3x three tablets 20 minutes interval 2-3 doses with little luke warm water during pain in lower abdomen during menses. And consult back with me.

Hi,Gas and acidity is the result of constipation and indigestion.Take homoeopathic medicine to get relief:-1. Gastrobin (WSG), 10 drops+ 1/2 cup of water, half an hour before meals, 3 times a day. *Lycopodium 30, 3 drops once daily in the morning for 7 days. 2. Natrum phos 6x, 4 tablets at a time, 3 times a day 10 mins. after meals. 3. Drink 10 to 12 glasses of water daily. 4. Drink two cups of coconut water daily. 5. . Avoid heavy spicy and oily food , pickles. Alpha liv 2 tsf twice daily after meals. Revert me after 7 days.

One of the most common health problems people have is indigestion. As per ayurveda, the accumulation of Ama or toxins leads to an imbalance in the way the small and large intestines functions along with various other participating organs like the liver and more. And this is the rootcause for indigestion.

The digestive tract or system is one of the most important organs of the body. Ayurveda relies on the rhythms and functions of the body to find the rootcause of ailments. Indigestion usually occurs because of bad daily habits & less physical activity.

There are many ways to treat to indigestion in an ayurvedic way. Let us look at the top tips for the same:

  1. Timely intake of meals: For better digestion, one must take meals at the same time everyday. Also, do not sit down for the next meal before the previous meal has been digested properly.
  2. Sleep: Sleep is a major factor that cure stress and creates a balance of sorts in one's routine, thus aiding proper digestion.

Mr. lybrate-user. I think you have problem of passing hard stools for long time. You improve your eating habit take three full meals lot of vegetables, fruits ,water avoid fast food. Use stool softener regularly every night. I think you will start improving.
