I am having tongue ulcer for the past 12 years. I am taking only 1 tablet (stamlo T) a day for hypertension. Please give me permanent solution.

Dear sir we have to see if the ulcer on tongue is due to any sharp edge of any tooth. Also after ruling out the cause the ulcer will go by itslef. Plus for faster recovery we can use low level laser therapy which will give you chairside relief from pain and help early healing of the ulcer.

Using an appropriate tooth paste is very necessary for the health of our teeth. Tooth pastes which contain flouride help in keeping the teeth healthy by reducing the risk of tooth decay.

Brushing harder isn’t better. Vigorous brushing does more harm than good and can lead to eroded enamel, which never grows back and can cause sensitivity and other oral issues.

Hello, there is no age limit for orthodontic (braces) treatment. It is the most common and safe treatment for alignment of teeth. It would cost you around Rs 15,000-40,000/- depending on the case.

Chronic Bad Breath - Causes and Management

Chronic Bad Breath - Causes and Management

One thing that can put away talking to someone very interesting is bad breath. And it is not an uncommon problem. While most just try to use mouth wash and chewing gums to keep it away, it is important to note that bad breath can be a sign of underlying causes, both in the mouth and the body as a whole.

Identifying the reason can help in early diagnosis and prompt treatment of the actual disease condition.

There could be oral and general causes for bad breath or halitosis as it is medically called.  Food habits and other lifestyle habits including smoking can also lead to bad breath.

Oral causes:

  • Presence of food debris in a moist environment (saliva) is ideal for the oral bacteria to act on the food particles and break them down. This causes a bad breath, when it leads to plaque formation and it then calcifies into a hardened substance called calculus.  Plaque and calculus are the main ingredients for tooth decay and periodontal disease.
  • Severe tooth decay leads to bad breath as does periodontal infections. In severe cases, there could even be abscess formation in the root area of the tooth with pus formation
  • Unclean dentures are another source of halitosis. There could be food lodged in between teeth or the undersurface of the denture, leading to bad breath.
  • Dry mouth or xerostomia - Certain diseases and drugs can lead to dry mouth with reduced amounts of saliva.  Saliva has a natural flushing effect on the bacteria, and in its absence, the bacteria thrive, leading to a bad odour.

General health:  Chronic diseases like gastroesophageal reflux disease, digestive disorders, liver disorders, cancer, and diabetes can lead to bad breath.

Others:

  • Long-term smoking and/or chewing tobacco and alcohol are also reasons for bad breath.
  • Crash diets:  People on low-carb diets can have a bad breath, owing to burning of the fat and producing ketones, which have a strong smell.
  • Medications: Nitrates to reduce angina, chemotherapy agents for cancer, phenothiazines for anxiety can all lead to bad breath. They reduce saliva and/or release chemicals causing bad breath.

Management:  The first step in managing halitosis is to nail the cause down, which makes it easier to treat.

  • Start with oral hygiene check, and if there is decay or gum disease, consider restorations and cleaning.
  • Mouth rinses can be used in the maintenance phase.
  • Cessation of tobacco use should be considered.
  • General health conditions like GERD should be managed
  • Artificial saliva in cases of xerostomia
  • Alternative medications if they are causing the bad breath

Oral breath is definitely embarrassing but can be managed very easily.

Masudo se peep nikal rahi hai use band karne ke liye koi dawai batao.

BDS (GOLD MEDALIST)
Dentist,
Masudo se peep nikal rahi hai use band karne ke liye koi dawai batao.
You may have dental abcess. You require immediate treatment. Go to a good dentist. He will drain the pus and you need to take painkillers and antibiotics to control the infection primarily to prevent recurrence. After the abcess helps properly the next procedure can be decided either rct, periodontal treatment or extraction of tooth.

I facing pyria problem, I cleaning (grinding of tooth) my all teeth in govt. Hospital. Due to this my teeth has thin ...
First of all you are very wrong in your concepts, cleaning or scaling procedure dosent means grinding of teeth, scaler just works on the meachanism of vibration, by which it removes the stains, plaque or calculas deposited on the teeth.& for pyria patients regular scaling & polishing procedure is mandatory, go to a good dentist & get it done. Brush your teeth twice, rinse after meal, regular flossing atleast once daily, use mouthwash for gargles, use gumpaint gummex or stolin & massage your gums atleast twice with it, if you hav sensitivity problem then use senquel-f or sensodyne toothpaste & take care of your oral hygiene, you will definitely get the benefit if you will follow these instructions.

Enamel Loss: What It Is and How to Fix It?

MDS Prosthodontics, BDS
Dentist, Mohali
Enamel Loss: What It Is and How to Fix It?

Enamel loss is nothing but tooth enamel erosion and this is quite a pathetic kind of oral condition. If the eroded enamel does not get restored, then your oral condition will get deteriorated to a great extent.
Teeth enamel plays the most important role in protecting teeth and if this layer gets eroded, then your teeth will get heavily damaged. Your teeth will not only get eroded, but the real dental color will also get changed.

Why enamel erosion occurs?

  1. Drinking excessive hot or cold: Your enamel is very much sensitive to hot or cold food items and as a result of which email loss is invited.
  2. Having fruit drinks: Citric acid in the fruit drinks is the element that can cause enamel erosion.
  3. Sugary diet: Excessive sugary diet is the very prominent cause of this kind of dental condition and thus you should take more and more of non-sugary foods.
  4. Environmental factors: There are many environmental factors that are responsible for enamel loss, and they are corrosion, stress, tear, wear, friction and others.
  5. Medications: Few medications are there that can cause enamel erosion and these medicines are antihistamines, aspirin and many more.
  6. Gastrointestinal troubles: These kinds of troubles are prone to the frequent erosion of tooth enamel and thus these problems need to be resolved as soon as possible.

What are the leading treatments for restoring enamel loss?

  1. Using fluoride toothpaste and mouthwash: There are many talented dentists who are strongly recommending the usage of both fluoride mouthwash and toothpaste so that tooth decay can be easily prevented. These products are now commercially available over-the-counter.
  2. Routine dental check-up: Daily dental check-up is needed so that oral condition can be checked so that the causes and signs of enamel loss can be detected, and then only perfect treatments can be easily applied.
  3. Taking vitamin-D supplements: there are many drugs and supplements that are enriched with vitamin-D, and they can be taken on a regular basis so that decayed enamel can be easily restored in a safe manner. Coconut oil can be taken in addition to these supplements for getting greater oral benefits.
  4. Cosmetic restoration options: There are many enamel-restoration options that can be cosmetically performed. Some of the popular options are crowning, filling, and others. On the other hand, leading a healthy lifestyle is also very important in this regard.

This condition is called mouth ulcer or apthae. Apthae can be there due to several reasons, like indigestion, constipation, deficiency of vitamin b12. Generally, this can be cured, just by few managing steps, like taking easily digestive food, take food, eat at least one papaya daily, avoid spicy, fatty, oily food, and taking b-complex capsules. If then also this doesn't cure in 10 days please consult.

Here is home remedy for brighter teeth--- mix several teaspoons of baking soda with enough fresh lemon juice (or water) to make a paste. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva off of them with a paper towel. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush and apply. Leave the paste on for 1 minute, then rinse, so as to avoid the acid effecting enamel. If you are using just water you can leave it on for up to 3 minutes. For faster result you can go for teeth bleaching from dentist.

It seems there is problem in your brushing technique. You must avoid aggressive brushing, do brushing in vertical strokes, brushing for 2-3 minutes is enough 30-40 minutes brushing daily will instead damage your teeth. Use mouth wash at least once a day.
