It requires detailed investigation and examination. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

This is a general low back ache and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists you can stretch your body by twisting the waist on both sides how we used to do in the school drill similarly you can try which will help you relax as well will reduce the pain. Ice can be kept in the low back where you have back pain. It is suggestible to wear lumbo sacral belt which would help you to build the abdominal muscle tone which itself would make you feel better. You can also wear mcr chappals which would help you to have less weight falling in the painful back. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having back / leg pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain.

I am 21 year old I am having pain on left side of my neck after sometime it shifts to the right side of neck and again after sometime it was felt that the pain is neither in left side or right side but it was felt that ot has shift in the bones below the neck, I have met with a doctor and he has given me the medicine and told me that I am having muscle spasm with which I am having relief right now but the doubt I am having is this that my mother also have the same kind of problem and I read two three blogs and got got confused that I am having motor nerve disease [mnd] which makes me think that I am having a severe problem. So please clear my doubts that whether I am having the mnd or its just a random problem due to bad posture.

Motor neuron disease is rare you do not think about that so this is a common neck pain only so you follow some exerciseThis is cervical pain (neck pain) and that's the reason the pain radiates until the shoulder blades. If you keep ice that would help to reduce the pain and feel relaxed and comfortable. You shall also do hot water fermentation that would improve the blood circulation to the painful area and thereby the pain would be reduced. You shall use cervical collar which would help you to reduce the radiating pain and also that would improve the cervical angle and improve the anatomical posture. The pain actually triggers due to nerve compression and that would definitely improve by wearing a cervical collar.

How to Prevent Hipbone Fracture in Elders

Any mild fracture in the hip can give a tough time to people. A hipbone fracture or broken hip is mostly common in the elderly people, especially in women. Mostly, the reason is underlying thinning of bones. In addition, in any hospital hip fracture is considered to be the most common bone treatment in the orthopaedic department. 
A hipbone fracture can be intracapsular (within the joint capsule), or it can be extracapsular (outside the joint capsule). 

What causes the hipbone fracture?

As discussed before, the leading cause of hipbone fracture is thinning of bones. So if you develop osteoporosis, you end up getting a fracture in your hip, mostly when you fall. Osteoporosis generally means your bone density has decreased, and your bones have become honeycombed. This makes the bone more fragile. 

Generally, if you have a fracture in your hip, then you will feel pain around the injured portion, you will face difficulty in walking or moving. These are the most common symptoms that can be felt during a broken hip. Mostly the intensity of the fracture is determined clinically via different tests like X-ray, MRI, CT scan etc. The treatment may vary and depends upon the intensity of the injury. Now if we talk about the treatment of hipbone fracture, it's mostly surgery. 

Well, it will be smart enough to take prevention regarding the hipbone fracture. There are various kinds of guidelines, which can help elders to prevent a hipbone fracture. 

How to prevent hipbone fracture?

  1. First and foremost, it is advised to adopt a healthy lifestyle in young age in order to build a healthy bone, which decreases the chance of bone fractures in older age. 
  2. Always remember to maintain a healthy bone. 
  3. Calcium and vitamin D both are very important for healthy bones. Health experts advise, when you attain the age of 50 or above, you should daily intake 1,200 milligrams of calcium per day and 600 international units of vitamin D per day. 
  4. Exercise can help you to maintain peak bone density for longer periods, and it also increases the strength of your body and bones. Balance training also plays a pivotal role since it reduces the chance of falling. 
  5. Avoid consuming of tobacco and alcohols as it can reduce bone density. 
  6. Get your eyes checked every year so that you do not face any problem while seeing. This is because poor view increases the chance of falling.
  7. Keep an eye on every medicine you are taking. As dizziness or weakness can be side effects of many medicines, these can lead you to fall often. So it is advised to discuss your medication with doctors. 
  8. As you get older, the chance of high or low blood pressure doubles up. So you should be extra careful while standing up.

If you don't feel steady enough, then to avoid falling, it is safe to use a walker or walking stick in the old age.

Cervical radiclulopathy left arm in little and ring finger congenital fusion of c3-c4 vertebra and mild disc bulge c5-c6. Doctors on paper wrote c7-T1 nerve compression. Any suggestions I taking physio and medicines. Am really depressed of this pain and numbness in finger.

No need to worry at all. First educate yourself about this illness. For congenital fusion there will be no problem now. For nerve compression I will advice you for postural guidance and change in living style. Go for physiotherapy . it can be cured completely by Physio and occupational therapy treatment. Use medicine as prescribed by physician as it also have a good role.

Hai sir, recently I have met with an accident. My right ankle bone and left collarbones were got fractured. For my ankle I was on pop for 35days. My doctor has removed the pop and suggested me not to walk for 1 month. As I am working I cant spend for tht long by being at home. Please suggest on this.

Can be solved through acupressure/ acupuncture easily. Try this for 3 days. Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening. Eat nutritious food including green vegetables, dairy products fruits do regular exercise. Identify the mid point between the ankle bone and tendons and give pressure with a blunt edge on either side of your foot for 2 minutes. Also give pressure in the web between 2nd and 3rd finger from your toe for 2 minutes. Finally give a good massage for both feet in hot water. Consult after 5 days.

You did not tell your height. Vitamin d3 deficiency can be a reason for this pain. Besides if you are overweight then this can also be a reason. If there is any history of injury on your knee it can also be a reason get your serum calcium, vitamin d3 an serum iron and ra factor checked. Hope it ll help you.

I am 25 yr old female and m having leg ache continuously since over 5 months now. Its unbearable specially while sleeping. This could be due to OA knee &/Or obesity. Physiotherapy along with medicines will help. Do knee exercises. It may have to be further investigated Rule out diabetes & vit.D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with a soft bedding on it. Any way take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. IBUPROFEN 200mg OD & SOS x 5days CALDIKID PLUS (mankind) 1 tab ODx10days You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do ask for detailed treatment plan.. Don't ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.
