Fasting blood sugar depend on various hormonal factors and the amount of sugar produce by your liver during the night. And pp level depend upon what meal you have and the amount of insulin your body produces after meal.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
Pediatrician,
Regarding online consultation there are certain points which all should know and follow. 1) the description of the diseases should be complete in all respects, including any tests done and any medicines already taking. Just saying I have diabetes since 10 years and taking metformin cannot help a discerning doctor a scientific advice. 2) your place and name and mail id and phone number should be in the question. It is necessary at times to know where you stay to give a good advice. (for example if there the climate is warm or cold and many other factors) 3) it is necessary to keep in regular touch for some diseases like diabetes and hypertension. So make it a point to be in touch by asking private questions. And repeat the essential point of the previous question to give a continuing answer. All these are said with intention to give a scientifically correct answer and talk as if in a regular consultation about which I am very keen to. 4) for personalised attention and follow up ask privately and it is better to make online payment if you are asked to by the doctor. It involves his time and dedication to give you expert advice after studying your problem. Ask personally in case of doubts about any medical matter. it is not as easy task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (self-monitoring of blood glucose? smbg). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of fasting sugar (fbs) and 2 hours after food (ppbs) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ insulin will be needed. For sugar control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. For giving you regular follow up you ask me privately with all details like your daily eating pattern and medicines you take. I assure you a proper guidance. If you keep in touch.

Is diabetic problem curable as claimed in tv?

Advanced Aesthetics
Ayurveda,
No the increase in the blood sugar levels damages nerves and blood vessels. It also leads to complications like cardiovascular diseases, strokes, kidney problems, blindness, dental problems and amputations. High blood glucose levels also damage nerves and blood vessels. Diabetes can also lead to depression, fertility issues, and increased risk of other diseases and lack of mobility as the age of the person increases. It is very difficult to find out what exactly triggers diabetes, but health experts say that genes and environmental factors are responsible for rise in blood glucose levels. There are two types of diabetes- type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. Let us study the causes that give rise to type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Diabetes is a grave medical condition, but with a healthy diet and regular exercise, managing the condition becomes a child? s play. Here are a handful of diabetes home remedies every diabetic can rely on to keep fluctuations of sugar levels under control. Bitter gourd: bitter gourds are one among the most effective ways for preventing sugar level fluctuations. Being a safe vegetable, this iron-rich gourd can be consumed by anyone. It influences the glucose metabolism in the body and helps stimulate pancreatic insulin secretion. Known to thwart off insulin resistance, bitter gourd is equally beneficial for people suffering from type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Drink a glass of bitter gourd juice, flavored with a little honey, every morning to keep diabetes away. Guava is rich in both vitamin c and fiber, both that help in maintaining normal blood sugar levels. A very good home remedy for diabetes. Just peel the skin and consume one fruit daily to reap its benefits get some physical activity daily to burn calories and stay in shape. This will also reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Have a lot of fiber in the form of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and whole grains any queries inform me.

If it is in the normal range, you should continue at the same dose until advised by your treating physician. Some patients of thyroid cancer require tsh to be suppressed below normal levels, otherwise levels should be maintained in the normal range.

5 Ways To Beat Diabetes

PGDCC (Cardiology ), CCEBDM (Diabetes), CCGDM (Gestational Diabetes), CCMTD (Thyroid), MBBS
Cardiologist, Udaipur
5 Ways To Beat Diabetes

India has the largest number of diabetics in the world. Around 6.2 crore people in India suffer from diabetes. Many patients with diabetes in India are still undiagnosed. More than 95% of these patients have type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes results from the body's ineffective use of insulin. It is usually diagnosed in the age group of 35-45. It can be prevented by healthy diet and exercise.

The patients who are diagnosed with diabetes and even those who do not have the disease can benefit by following these 5 effective ways to beat diabetes.

1. Make healthy food choices

Taking care of your diet is one of an essential components to manage and prevent diabetes.

-switch to oils with a high volume of monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats like olive oil, canola oil, soybean oil or rice bran oil. Limit intake to one tablespoon a day.

-restrict intake of foods that have a high glycemic index like white bread, white rice, fatty foods, and soda.

-consume foods with a low glycemic index like multigrain aata, whole grains, daals, most fruits, non-starchy vegetables and carrots.

-limit consumption of fast food. Studies show that young adults who ate fast food more than twice a week developed insulin resistance (a diabetes risk factor) at twice the rate of people who weren't fast food junkies.

2. Watch your weight

Losing weight can help to regulate blood sugar levels.

-if you have type 2 diabetes, losing just 4-6 kgs can lower your glucose levels.

-the way fat is distributed in the body can also impact diabetes risk and management.

-people who have abdominal adiposity (fat around the belly) are more prone to type 2 diabetes than those with fat mostly in the thighs, hips, and buttocks.

3. Exercise regularly

Regular exercise can lower blood glucose and possibly reduce the amount of medication you need to treat diabetes, or even eliminate the need for medication.

-get your doctor's approval before starting an exercise program.

-even if you do not lose any weight, exercise can help keep type 2 diabetes under control.

-start slowly with a low-impact exercise such as walking, swimming or jogging.

-exercise, at least, three times a week for about 30 to 45 minutes.

-warm up for 5 minutes before starting to exercise and cool down for 5 minutes after exercise.

-always carry a source of carbohydrate with you so you'll be ready to treat low blood glucose.

4. Manage stress better

Stress can make blood sugar levels harder to control.

-engage in any relaxation technique to ward off stress.

-the best techniques include yoga, meditation, deep breathing exercises.

-you may join a yoga club nearby or else take out 10-15 minutes every day to sit quietly with yourself and practice meditation.

5. Go for regular health check-ups

Diabetes requires lifelong commitment towards following a healthy lifestyle, taking medicines on time and getting regular checkups to detect any complications.

-check your blood sugar levels at home at least once a week.

-get your hba1c levels checked at least twice a year.

-in addition, make sure that your eyes, kidneys, heart, and skin are in optimal health.

-visit an eye specialist once a year to detect any signs of eye damage (diabetic retinopathy).

-get your kidney function tests done at least 2 times a year.

-inspect your feet regularly for any signs of numbness, pain or growth that may lead to ulceration and complications.

If I forgot Lentus (insulin) in night, what should I do?
if you miss or forget the dose of insulin, then it better to reduce the food intake also. This may not be much of the problem, but if you take insulin and miss the food or delay it too much can be a more dangerous situation.
