I am having headache frequently, and I am suffering from sinusitis. Nowadays I feel a change in my pain. I doubt, that I am having a migraine! How can I make sure about this? Should I consult a doctor?

BHMS
Homeopath, Howrah
Sinusitis is usually has cold with blocked nose. Pain is in affected side of nose, maxillary area. But in migraine there may or may not be cold, usually one sided headache. Nauseatus sensation, gastric disturbances are often present. Patient feels better after vomiting as it reduces the pressure in head.

Right side of my brain I get light swelling some time when I was in stress and pressure. So I wanna reason for this. Is this brain tumor.

M.S (surgery), M.Ch - Neuro Surgery
Neurosurgeon, Gurgaon
Cause of brain tumor is not known. There are only a few known risk factors exposure to radiation, pre existing genetic conditions. Previous cancers headache not responding to routine medication gradually become more frequent and more severe, unexplained projectile vomiting. Changes in mental ability / personality / concentration / memory. Voice change, speech difficulty. Visual disturbances such as diminished vision, blurred vision, double vision. Gait disturbance difficulty in balancing not able to walk straight. Convulsions episodes of loss of consciousness. Consult a neurosurgeon who is trained to handle brain tumors. These days multiple treatment options are available for brain tumors but primary treatment still is surgical removal.

Why It's Ideal to Treat Insomnia With Homeopathy

Why It's Ideal to Treat Insomnia With Homeopathy

Why it’s ideal to treat insomnia with homeopathy

Insomnia is a mental condition, which is characterized by a difficulty in falling asleep, even when you have the chance to do so. People with insomnia feel dissatisfied with their sleep and usually experience fatigue, low energy, lack of concentration, mood swings and decreased performance at work or at school.

The causes of insomnia include stress, emotional or physical discomfort; environmental factors like noise, light or extreme temperature that interferes with sleep; and depression or anxiety.

The visible symptoms of insomnia are inability to fall asleep no matter what, irritability, depression, lack of concentration and enthusiasm, and distressed stomach and intestine. Complications associated with insomnia can cause psychiatric problems, obesity, increased risk of long-term diseases or conditions like high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes.

Homeopathy is a boon towards treating insomnia.

1. Safety

Homeopathic medication are far safer therefore, it is preferable and highly recommended. It serves invaluably during insomnia and does not involve any side effects.

2. Efficiency

The efficiency of homeopathic medicines in curing the several problems associated with insomnia is unquestionable. Plus, targets at providing long-term cure for insomnia instead of just temporary relief. The approach that homeopathy adopts includes getting at the root cause of the problem, and weeding it out so that there’s never a relapse of your condition.

Dementia - Easy Tips To Help You Cope With It!

Dementia - Easy Tips To Help You Cope With It!

A lot of things can be done to cope with the initial stages of dementia. A person goes through a wide range of emotions such as fear, denial, frustration, and anger, post the diagnosis. Here is a list of tips that will help a patient with dementia to cope better:

  1. Physical health: For a dementia patient, it is very important to take care of one’s health. A good diet along with regular exercise and adequate rest is a prerequisite to manage this disorder.
  2. Regular check-ups: Regular medical check-ups with the doctor are necessary in this condition. Depression and other mental health problems should be discussed with a professional.
  3. Quit alcohol: Alcohol might give momentary pleasure from the misery, but it has long-standing implications. It reacts with the medicine and creates additional health and memory-related complications.
  4. Allocate time for difficult tasks: With time, it can become difficult to perform even the simplest of tasks. The patient should accordingly schedule the time to perform the tasks which may be difficult to carry out. Adequate breaks should be taken while performing a task to avoid getting fatigued.
  5. Redefine work: If a patient is suffering from dementia is still working, it should be ensured that the work is more manageable from a desk. Planning an early retirement may be a good idea in order to cope with dementia.
  6. Be organised: Keeping track of things can get difficult with time. It, therefore, makes sense to organise all belongings systematically. Putting labels on doors and drawers also help.
  7. Continue pursuing your hobbies: Amidst the difficulty and the depression, it is a good idea to continue doing things that are fun. While such activities might require some assistance from the doctor and family members, this helps the patient to be cheerful and healthy.
  8. Maintain notes: Since dementia is involved with forgetfulness, it makes sense to maintain a diary and keep records of phone numbers, people, appointments, etc.
  9. Communication channel: Maintaining a direct communication channel with family, friends, and relatives is a good idea. Sharing feelings will go a long way in maintaining relations with loved ones.
  10. Support group: Joining a dementia support group can be highly beneficial for the patient. It will not only give the patient company but also make sure that the patient gets a lot of useful information about the disorder. It also helps in keeping the morale up.
  11. Getting ready for the future: Things need to be meticulously planned well in advance to ensure that when the disease progresses, the patient has enough people to look after him. Things such as medical arrangements, financial assets, and property details should be carefully handed over as per the patient's wish. This will ensure a smooth run of the patients’ life when they can no longer take care of themselves. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Psychiatrist.

My son has migraine problem. Please advise what is proper treatment of migraine pain and what precaution is to be taken. Regards, Balbir Kainth, M-9888179377.

BHMS
Homeopath, Raebareli
Thank you for writing to us. Please note the following for your condition: Migraine headache triggers: Whatever the exact mechanism of the headaches, a number of things may trigger them. Common migraine triggers include: Foods. Aged cheeses, salty foods and processed foods may trigger migraines. Skipping meals or fasting also can trigger attacks. Food additives. The sweetener aspartame and the preservative monosodium glutamate, found in many foods, may trigger migraines. Drinks. Alcohol, especially wine, and highly caffeinated beverages may trigger migraines. Stress. Stress at work or home can cause migraines. Sensory stimuli. Bright lights and sun glare can induce migraines, as can loud sounds. Unusual smells — including perfume, paint thinner, secondhand smoke and others — can trigger migraines in some people. Changes in wake-sleep pattern. Missing sleep or getting too much sleep may trigger migraines in some people, as can jet lag. Physical factors. Intense physical exertion, including sexual activity, may provoke migraines. Changes in the environment. A change of weather or barometric pressure can prompt a migraine. Medications. Vasodilators, such as nitroglycerin, can aggravate migraines. Use Lavender Oil--Not only does lavender smell great — it’s also a useful home remedy for headaches and migraine pain. Lavender oil can be either inhaled or applied topically. Two to four drops for every two to three cups of boiling water are recommended when inhaling lavender-oil vapors as a headache treatment. Unlike many medicinal oils, this home remedy can also be safely applied externally without the need to dilute it. Lavender oil should not be taken orally. Thanks.

My hand shaking every time due hesitation, anxiety and depression. How can stops fastly?

Shaking occurs as a result of adrenaline. That makes it hard to stop shaking once you've already started. You can't stop adrenaline. You simply need to wait for it to get used up and control your anxiety in the process. There are a few simple things you can try: •Jog Running may use up adrenaline faster, and help you stop shaking. •Deep Breaths Breathing slow can be helpful for shaking as well. •Yell While you can't do it in public, some people find yelling loudly to be somewhat therapeutic. Some people have trained themselves to shake less. Drinking water and eating healthier may help too. Some people shake worse when their body needs more nutrients or hydration. But in general, the only way to stop shaking is to stop the anxiety that causes it.
