When child is hungry, he shall definitely like to eat but of his own choice rather yours. It is just possible that you may be forcing your choice. Give him all edible well nutritious items prepared at home of his choice including milk and its products. Sucking of fingers must have started at his early age for the reason he may have not been given food of his choice and kept hungry. I hope this may help.

Using an ac is advisable given a condition that child is not exposed to the direct cold air coming from ac, maintain a room temperature of 21-27 degrees will be optimum. You can go for any brand ac which you like.

Dear Sir/ madam, I have blessed with a daughter on 14. 10. 2016, just 5 days before. Her bilirubin (Total) shows 12. 2. Is it dangerous for her? What is the control (specified) limit for bilirubin (jaundice) in new born babies? What to do now for her treatment? Some doctors suggested for sun bath & antibiotic injections (half dose twice a day) for 5 days, is it safe for a 5 days baby girl? Please suggest, I'm very nervous.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
Yu have to tell her weight to see if the bilirubin is in normal range as it is related to weight when we take decision. Sun bath is fine and this is not at dangerou level if she is is adequately big . It is called physiological jaundice and is seen many babies . On fifth day 12 mg./dl is not serious

This is regarding our baby. It has been 2.5 months but our baby is not feeding from his mother. He cries like anything when she tries to feed her. Everybody says that it is something between the mother.

General Physician,
It may be nipple is retracted and he cannot latch on to it properly. And if you use bottle feed (must stop it) also it can cause nipple & breast confusion.

My daughter 16 months old has been having diarrhea for 1 week. No fever. No vomiting. Active baby.

MBBS
General Physician,
How many times she passes stools and what is the type of stools are the questions. Still let me tell you 10 to 15 times also sometimes we consider as normal. Most important thing is what is the general condition and how is the babie's mood. Are there any other symptoms e. G. Rash around anusara or continuous cry etc.

My 2 years old son's weight is 10. 280 kg.How can his weight be increased? He suffers from hardened stool frequently. Can I give him pediasure

MD - Paediatrics, MBBS
Pediatrician, Gurgaon
Your son is a little under weight. He may be having anemia also. Expected weight is around 12 Kg at 2 years of age. His constipation may be because of poor diet. He should eat more green leafy vegetables. You should get his blood tested for Complete Hemogram which includes hemoglobin. He may require iron supplementation. After blood report he may require more investigations. For this he requires check up by a Pediatrician.

Kids who regularly indulge in junk food may be at increased risk for health complications like obesity and depression.

Junk food can be appealing for a variety of reasons, including convenience, price and taste. For children, who do not always understand the health consequences of their eating habits, junk food may appear especially appetizing. However, regularly consuming fattening junk food can be addictive for children and lead to complications like obesity, chronic illness, low self-esteem and even depression, as well as affecting how they perform in school and extracurricular activities.
