That suggests you are having obstruction. Start taking 2-3 litres of water daily, cap urimax 0. 4mg daily. If ultrasound shows obstruction get the stone removed.

Sticky moist feeling in anus sometimes itching, burning after latrine. From 3-4 days. Chronic acidity and indigestion.

Dear , I think you have developed an anal fissure which is due to passage of hard faeces due to constipation or severe forceful diarrhoea. Fissure in itself increases constipation. Constipation is not a disease but lifestyle problem. Simply treat constipation by laxative, high fiber and high residue diet and apllication of zincal ointment in side anus especially before going toilet.

This problem may be due to some infection in the tract or even a result of small calculi in the kidneys so first do one cue I.e complete urine analysis and get a usg (sonography) of abdomen and pelvis done. U can also have a glass of water in which coriander seeds and whole cumin (jeera has been soaked overnight) this will help in reducing the frequency of urination to some extent.

There is no need for any medicine you must time yourself for going to the washroom it might have become a compulsive habit for you use the washroom initially every two hrs before watch and slowly increase the time gap if your investigations show everything normal then you sure can manage it on your own.

I have got small stones in kidney. So what precautions should I take to get rid of stones.

MBBS
General Physician,
I have got small stones in kidney. So what precautions should I take to get rid of stones.
There are several medicines for dissolving stones but treatment depend on size type and cause of formation of stone. Prevention of renal stones also depend on type of stone. Also there are various diseases and drugs that can predispose to stone formation. A usg, complete metabolic panel and urine cytology and ph check up is needed in young aged patients. To prevent oxalate stones thats very commonly found you need to restrict oxalate rich foods like: peanuts, rhubarb, spinach, beets, chocolate and sweet potatoes. To prevent uric acid stones, cut down on high-purine foods such as red meat, organ meats, and shellfish, and follow a healthy diet that contains mostly vegetables and fruits, whole grains, and low fat dairy products. Limit sugar-sweetened foods and drinks, especially those that contain high fructose corn syrup. Limit alcohol because it can increase uric acid levels in the blood and avoid crash diets for the same reason. Eating less animal-based protein and eating more fruits and vegetables will help decrease urine acidity and this will help reduce the chance for stone formation. Take plenty of water also.

I am having hemorrhoids for past 1yr and I'm using smuths ointment. But the problem is that is not healing properly. When I eat chicken or paratha the blood starts to come from my rectum. What will I do.

MS - General Surgery

Avoid straining. Eat plenty of fibers along with non veg you take. Constipation increases straining forces which cause bleeding. Fibers in diet like spinach and other leafy vegetables, carrots, cucumber, fruits like oranges and sweet lemon make the stools softer and less need for apllying force while passing motion. Local ointments are used if fissure is present and causes pain.

I have gone through left kidney surgery but after 6 month of surgery my right kidney pain sometime, What can i do?

DNB (Radiodiagnosis), DMRD, MBBS
Radiologist, Bangalore
Hi, thanks for writing in to us. It is important to know why you underwent surgery on your left kidney 6 months back. If there was a stone and should you have a tendency for urinary stone formation then please get back to the urologist and also get investigated for any stones in your right kidney. You might require an ultrasound scan abdomen and pelvis or a ct scan plain to see any kidney stones. If your surgery was done for any kidney infection then also the pain might be evaluated with an ultrasound scan to look for any urinary obstruction. For this also it is better to consult the urologist and they might ask you to get urine test done for infection. Please drink adequate amount of water and visit washroom regularly. Regards,

" The theme of world kidney day 2017 is “kidney disease and obesity. Healthy lifestyle for healthy kidneys”"

Quick kidney facts
On occassion of world kidney day 9th march 2017. Here are a few interesting facts about kidney.

They're not just your body's cleanup crew. Without them we’d be swimming in our own waste.
We’re born with a pair, yet we can manage with just one. That’s why you can donate a kidney and remain alive and well.

1. The kidneys have a higher blood flow than even the brain, liver or heart.
2. The kidneys reabsorb and redistribute 99% of the blood volume and only 0.1% of the blood filtered becomes urine.
3. Healthy kidneys work 24hrs a day/7 days a week to clean the blood.
4. Kidneys will continue performing until they have lost 75-80% of their function.
5. Kidneys represent only 0.5% of total body’s weight
6. The kidneys of a newborn baby are about 3x larger in proportion to body weight as in the adult.
7. Kidney stones are an accumulation of mineral salts and mostly combined with calcium which can lodge anywhere along the course of the urinary tract.
8. Refined carbohydrates and sugar will stimulate the pancreas to release insulin. This causes extra calcium to be excreted in the urine. Alas, kidney stones.
9. Kidney beans (rajma), true to their name are kidney shaped. They provide nutrients that are helpful to the human kidneys.
10. Each kidney contains 1 million individual filters. They filter an average of around 1.3 liters (2.2 pints) of blood per minute, and expel up to 1.4 liters (2.5 pints) a day of urine.

Take good care of such a vital organ.

Hello I have recently diagnosed with a gallbladder stone of 8 mm. I asked doctor and he said that surgery is the only option to get it out along with gallbladder. I looked up google and found some links where they say that I can remove stone from gallbladder if I drink olive oil and lemon juice mixture. Now my questions are 1. If I go for surgery will there be any impact in future, since I have stomach problems very commonly. 2. Is it true that I can remove stones by drinking olive oil and lemon juice? If yes are there any harmful or dangerous consequences that can happen. 3. Ever since I got diagnosed I am facing problems with urinating. It is coming very frequently and improperly. Kindly help.

Hello
I have recently diagnosed with a gallbladder stone of 8 mm.
I asked doctor and he said that surgery is the only...
Dear lybrate user gall stones have been well cured through constitutional treatment with no future recurrence ,cutting of an organ is not a cure ,disease is not something hidden in parts but it is a process and has to be reverted back by proper internal medicinal treatment, also olive oil and lemon juice are food items and should be taken in moderation and cannot cure since they are in there crude state ,may be some palliation may result in very huge doses but its not healthy
