Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Hi I have been playing cricket from the past 14 years. In the past year, I was getting pain when I throw the ball or rotate my shoulder in clockwise direction or in some particular angle. Hi lets first I told you to have mri scan of the shoulder joint to rule out the cause of the shoulder pain well it could be due to shoulder impingment syndrome, thracic outlet syndrom and peri arthritis. Treatment will plan after right diagnosis.

Hello lybrate user, look at what is causing you that knee pain, - any swelling around knee noticed before? - it's not an age to get arthritis, as you got better to control it naturally with right food habits and lifestyle - always have freshly made warm food - avoid sour foods like curds, cheese, paneer, cold foods or water - make sure you have hb in normal range and your menstrual cycles are normal. - to relive the pain and strengthen the joint apply ksheerabala taila or ashwagandha bala taila and do hot fomentation for 15 min daily - alternative days apply warm paste of dry ginger powder on the knees and leave for 15 min and then wash with warm water - internally you can take kbl 101 capsules 2-0-2 before food for 15 days. This will help you mych thank you.

Using knee cap is not a problem you can use it for long not an issue but remove it while rest. Strengthening & isometric exes play an important role in knee pain. Support help you to avoid stress & jerks on the joint while walking no harm.

You seem to be a bike rider. Neck pain can occur in such situations due to strain on neck muscles. Such pain can be relieved by simple measures at home. 1) Take rest for 1-2 days. 2) Simple analgesics like paracetamol or Ibuprofen to relieve pain 3) Application of ice pack helps in new onset neck pain in first 24 hrs. Later on application of warm pack will help. 4) Massage locally with analgesic cream 5) Perform neck stretches and muscle strengthening exercises once pain is decreased. 6) Follow good posture habits to avoid further increase in neck pain. Consult your doctor immediately in following cases: 1) Neck pain is persistent and progressive 2) Neck pain following trauma or accident 3) Neck pain associated with tingling or numbness in hands or shoulder.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Hi Apply pranacharya restopain oil or prasarini oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. Take pranacharya vatari syrup and capsule twice a day. And agni tundi vati and maha yograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day.
