Give me details food, fruits for the sickle cell disease, it is permanently cure or not.

MBBS, MD - Paediatrics
Pediatrician, Pune
Give me details food, fruits for the sickle cell disease, it is permanently cure or not.
How frequently is the patient requiring blood transfusion? is the patient on hydroxyurea drug? permanent cure is bone marrow transplant if patient has matched donor. But can be controlled with this drug hydroxyurea and blood transfusions. Kindly consult a paediatric haematologist to evaluate your patient. Also if you are planning to have more children you and your husband also undergo screening for sickle cell and during 12-14 weeks of pregnancy you can undergo chorionic villi sampling to detect sickle cell in your future child beforehand and as per the result you can decide if you want to continue with your pregnancy.

My newborn son is 12 days old and he rarely burps after breast feeding and spills milk sometimes. I am really worried if its fine. He also has jaundice (8.9 when last checked on 8th day) and doc has said it will go on its own on 20th day. Shall I be avoiding certain foods or my daily massage that my midwife gives? Doc has also suggested not to apply nothing on his skin but he is having little pimples on his face.

Dear mother, I think you are the first time motherand a very observant and caring too. But as per your concerns as fa ras jaundice is concerened it will slowly go away but you didnot specify the weight and wetherher the baby was born ontime or before time. Spilling milk sometimes is fine, hope the child is not being fed too frequently. Clean the face of your baby regularly with water and dab it dry. No need to avoid your routine food. Hope this satisfies your query. Any further question you are welcome.

If it is not resolving surgery will be needed. The term is not trigger finger Trigger finger happens when tendons in the finger or thumb become inflamed. Tendons are tough bands of tissue that connect muscles and bones. This is a congenital defect.

My son (7 years) is adhd and mild auotium and taking acepta10 (1tab. At morning and half in the evening) and neurocetum (5 ml thrice a day). Still he is unable to concentrate in studies. Kindly advise any change in treatment.

Fellow Observership, Certificate in Forensic Psychology, MD-Psychiatry, MBBS
Psychiatrist, Akola
Hello; first you have to stop giving him neurocetum or similar named syrup you are giving him. What is your son's weight & height? c. Atomoxetine (acepta) is a very good medication & we can increase its dose depending on your sons responses like studies, behavior in class etc. In addition, there are other good medications like methylphenidate, clonidine also which can be prescribed if required. Do revert back for further help. Good luck.

Eruption of teeth is a normal & does not requre any treatment. But at this time chlidren start exploring all objects by mouth, resulting in recurrent respiratory and gut infections. You may try long pieces of vegetables to cop up itching in teeth.

Doctor only suggested me to use Venusia max cream on my 1 month baby. Can I use it or shall I use dermadew cream.

Doctor only suggested me to use Venusia max cream on my 1 month baby. Can I use it or shall I use dermadew cream.
Venusia max is not a baby cream. However it is good cream for extreme dryness of the skin. Adults often use it. You can use any other baby cream for the baby as they are milder. Coconut oil is the best substitute.

Whole in the heart does not mean anything. It depends where it is & how much it is& what are its effects there is no doubt some of the holes close by itself. Better to show a cardiologist,
