Diet, exercise along with herbal preparations will be effective in weight gaining, shaping body, fitness, maintaining stamina etc. The consumption nutritious diets along with herbal supplements are more effective in weight gain. Is your hair loss accompanied with greying of hair and have they become very thin? your hair needs a very high protein well-rounded diet. Hair and nails are the last organs to get nutrition in the body, hence only if all the organs get sufficient nutrition and proteins, only then the remaining nutrition would be used for hairs. A strand of hair is composed of mostly protein, which means your hair needs protein to grow. Hence a therapeutic diet prescribed by a registered dietitian can help a lot in hair growth. Besides diet excessive stress, current/past dandruff and some medication are conclusively known to retard hair growth and promote hair loss. - cut down on the use of hair spray, hair gels, and styling creams that contain harsh chemical ingredients, which can dry out the scalp and cause the formation of flakes. Also harsh treatments such as perms, colours, relaxers etc take a toll on the health of your hair. - avoid changing your shampoo and conditioner constantly. Stick to one good mild cleansing shampoo for six months before changing. - excessive exposure to the sun, pollution, rain water and dust without proper protection makes the hair dry, brittle and limp. Use a live in conditioner during the rains to protect it from the humidity and wash and oil it regularly to maintain a healthy scalp. I may also prescribe medications like biotin or minox. That are proven to help in hairgrowth and repair I being a both a registered dietitian (rd) and doctor have been successfully helping patients with their problems through a holistic approach using customized therapeutic diet and medications. I will also suggest home remedies. Do reply back for private consultation for rx.

I would advice you to wait for another week. Occasionally periods can be delayed due to stress, physical exertion or hormonal changes. If it still fails to come do a urine pregnancy test and then take progesterone tablets to bring about a bleed.

6 things for sex life

6 things for sex life

6 things you must always have in your bedroom for a hotter sex life

Having a couple of objects in your sex treasure chest can be a fantastic way to make your #sex life even hotter. Check out some great important ones in this piece

Sex is not just about two bodies coming together. You can explore your sexuality and make things a lot hotter by using a few simple tools.

These six major ones must-haves.

1. Blindfolds

You do not have to be kinky sex lovers to enjoy the thrill you can get from having yourself or your partner blindfolded. It can be a huge turn on for one person to be blindfolded, giving himself/herself to the sweet sensual feelings, while the other enjoy having complete and total control. Great way to bring that element of surprise into your love life.

2. Lubricant

No sex box is complete without a couple of lubricants. Sex is so much better when things are wet than dry, if you know what we mean. So, have one handy in case you guys encounter some challenges.

3. Handcuffs

You can have those fuzzy little cuffs, a soft rope or even a scarf, depending on what you are comfortable with. These are great for role playing plus hand ties are great for all types of positions and it turns women on when they have to struggle.

4. Condoms

It always pays to be safe, you never know when you might need them.

5. Sex position books/apps

Having a go-to library of fun sex moves can add that extra spice to the bedroom. While hanging out with your partner, you could both have a look through and each person gets a turn to choose something new to try.

6. Vibrator

Be it the finger vibe or penis vibe, these fancy little toys can come in very handy in the bedroom if you are feeling inventive.

PMS: Don't Suffer in Silence

PMS: Don't Suffer in Silence

What is premenstrual syndrome (PMS)? In a layman's language, it is that time of the month you don't really want to unnecessarily bother a woman or you might have to face the brunt of an emotional outburst. In medical terms, it is a combination of emotional, physical, psychological changes that occur in a woman after ovulation and culminates with the ending of her menstrual flow. The most common mood-related symptoms are irritability, depression, crying, oversensitivity, and mood swings.

The most common physical symptoms are fatigue, bloating, breast tenderness, acne, and appetite changes with food cravings. In severe cases, anger, irritability, anxiety and tension leads to loss of the functioning ability of a woman. If you've been there or are suffering, you are not alone. There are scores of women around the world who experience these symptoms. Here are ways to minimize and get rid of PMS.

1. Control PMS with diet changes: Certain food types in general are not a healthy choice but can cause more harm than good during PMS. Depending on what factor affects you the most, cut down on these types of food.

  • Salt: Excess salt can lead to bloating
  • Caffeine: Can lead to anxiety, sleeplessness and irritability
  • Alcohol: The concoction for depression
  • Sugar: Can cause mood swings

As always, eating more fruits, veggies and grains at the right time can keep you healthy and prepared for those dreaded days.

2. Exercise: Exercise is a mood lifter. It gets you into shape, adds to your stamina and slowly but steadily boosts your confidence to become slimmer, stronger, and fitter. The trick is to pick up on an exercise you love. Hit the road and run free with your thoughts or turn on the music and dance with aerobics.

3. Stock up on vitamins: Hormonal imbalances are the primary cause behind PMS. Though it is not proven, stocking up on some essential vitamins like calcium, potassium and minerals can give you more strength to fight the symptoms.

4. Herbal remedies: They've been around for hundreds of years and you are likely to have an aunt or grandma swear by one of these cures. From ginger to primrose oil, these cures can balance your hormonal activity in a natural way. You will need to experiment to see what really suits your need.

5. Take a break: No matter what physical or emotional trauma you go through, it can double up because of stress and lack of sleep. Knowing your 'off' days, it's best you find a way to take some time off for yourself at a spa or try meditation and deep breathing. Do what you love to do to. Keep your mind calm and clear. Listen to music, take a walk with your dog or simply read a good book.

To start with, change your diet, take a few supplements and herbs, and start exercising, and you should see the change in the first few cycles itself.
