During puberty hygiene improper diet stress drugs like corticosteroids dos and do not's: wash your face frequently, at least 5 times a day, taking care that it does not become too dry. Do not scrub your face while washing because scrubbing on inflamed skin aggravates the acne. Use a gentle cleanser made with natural ingredients or herbs rather than chemical preparations. Do not use scented soaps and use a mild anti-bacterial soap if possible. Try not to apply cosmetics regularly or use non-greasy light make-up of repute. Do not sleep with your makeup on. Hi, Believe me, if you are genuinely happy from inside and taking nutritious, healthy food and daily yoga or some kind of exercises as that will be automatically reflected on your face. Yes, the colour which is inherited from your parents/ ancestors, cannot be changed, but you can try to get glow on your face!! Daily Regime: Apart from these, you do follow CTMP, i.e., cleansing, toning, moisturising and protection (apply liberally sunscreen with SPF-30 – a thick layer of Bakson's Suncare cream may be, 20-30 minutes before going out daily and repeat it's application after every 3-4hrs.) after washing your face daily; use the products as per your skin type. This will change the skin texture and skin tone. In case you do have tanning, apply honey with a dash of lime on your face. Eat right and healthy that too on time, relieve your stress/ tensions, sleep well, stop smoking, as this restricts blood flow to your face and leaves you with a greyish complexion. lead a healthy lifestyle! Apart from this, avoid anger, anxiety, fear which increases stress hormone in the body and subsequently makes your complexion darker! (Hormonal imbalances also plays a major role). If the dull and dark skin tone is due to any underlying ailment or diseases, need to look into the matter. Diet: -Increase your Vitamin C intake (lemon,orange,gooseberry,etc.Fruits/juices, strawberries, sweet peppers, tomatoes, cantaloupe, and green peas). - Eat more Vitamin A (nonfat milk, oysters, and egg yolks, carrots, watermelon, papaya, tomatoes, or other dark colored produce) . If you feel your skin is weak or not tight enough, that usually suggests a lack of Vitamin A. Medicine: Use homoeopathic cream - Medicynth's Whitch Hazel or Bakson’s Fairness cream daily at night. Home remedies: Apply fresh-squeezed lemon juice to your entire face and neck. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water. After this, rub cucumber slices on your skin to soften and moisturize it. Do this daily or every other day. Another option is squeeze the juice of one-half lemon and mix one to two tablespoons of raw honey in it. Apply it on your face, leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse it off. Make a paste of 'Kasturi Manjal' (wild turmeric) with rose petals, saffron and raw milk which is very effective.

Hi I'm a male or boy does looking every time in the mirror makes you ugly or make our face or skin dull and weak please tel me does every time looking in the mirror makes us feel ugly, and looks your face or skin dull and weak please tel me plz.

MBBS, MD - MD- Skin & VD
Dermatologist, Ahmedabad
No, looking in mirror can only give you a reality check. If you have dull skin, mirror will show it to you and you can help yourself to make it better. Mirror does not have any special powers to make someone ugly. Obsessing with seeing yourself in the mirror all the time can affect your mental health.

My lips are getting red. It sometimes has some black spots. Sometimes it looks extra Red.

BHMS
Homeopath, Faridabad
Hello, Excessive dryness, licking the lips, any inflammation, dehydration can lead to loss of moisture from the skin or lips and make them look red! So, drink 10-12 glasses of water everyday, stop licking or biting the lips, don't pick the lips, keep them suppled with application of good lip balm with vitamin E and SPF, don't rub them, maintain hygiene. Covering your lips with a scarf when you're outside during the winter can also help prevent dry lips. Medication: Take Sulphur 30/ once daily in the morning for 1 week. Also, take a multivitamin for 3months.

I have some skin problem in back side it will create only in summer what will I do for this?

B.Sc. - Dietitics / Nutrition, Nutrition Certification,Registered Dietitian
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Delhi
This must be prickly heat due to excessive heat exposure in summers. •Prepare a paste by mixing together equal amounts of sandalwood powder and rose water. Apply this paste on the affected skin, and leave it on until it dries. Rinse it off with cold water. Follow this remedy twice daily for a week. •Alternatively, mix two tablespoons each of sandalwood powder and coriander powder with enough rose water to make a thick paste. Smear the paste on the affected area and let it dry on its own. Wash with cold water and pat dry your skin. Repeat twice daily for a week. •You can also sprinkle sandalwood powder as a talcum over the affected areas after taking a shower.
