After my operation of cataract (4 months back- right eye), I am finding problem in right eye in clarity in vision. Pl. Tell me tentative reasons, & guide further.

Phaco Development Program, Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology, DNB Ophtalmology, MBBS
Ophthalmologist, Mysore
Reasons: 1. Since you were a high myope there is possibility that there is some residual power. You may have to use glasses. 2. After cataract surgery you will need to wear glasses for near vision and computer use. 3. There is a possibility that you have some retinal problem like macular edema Go back to your doctor and get a detailed evaluation done.

What should I do?
MANY CAUSES OF PAIN in eye. one need to ascertain that it is not vision threatening. you need to show it to nearby eye specialist to rule our any vision threatening problem ,it could be mere glasses power or conjunctivitis. but better get it checked

After changing medical treatment for glaucoma, it is recommended to u an eye pressure checked after 3-4 weeks to ensure IOP is less than target eye pressure. Blurred vision could be due to advanced glaucoma, uncorrected refractive error, development of cataract or simply dry eye or unhealthy ocular surface or allergies. Add a tear substitute...If it does not help revisit ur treating eye doctor.

Hello lybrate-user. Let me enumerate the diet necessary for healthy eyes. (1) green leafy vegetables including spinach, sprouts, cabbage, beetroot. (2) fruits-blue-berries, black-berries, strawberries, raspberries, kiwi fruit, grapes, pineapple, pomegranate, grapes, guava. (3) dry-fruits: almonds, walnuts, apricots, dates. (4) cereals: oats, barley, millets. (5) drink a cup of green tea daily. (6) drink a glass of milk daily. Don't take your eyes for granted! protect your sight with these six tips: 1. Eat for good vision 2. Quit smoking (if you do smoke) 3. Wear sunglasses / helmets to shield your eyes from dust, sunlight, pollution 4. Wash your eyes 3-4 times a day 5. Look away from the computer screen at regular intervals 6. Avoid rubbing your eyes with fingers/ cloth/ shirt/ dupatta, etc. All these suggestions may take a while to sink in and imbibe in your routine. Once followed, they are sure to work wonders for you. Also, I have a few suggestions for you regarding the usage of computers, mobile phones and books. Follow the rule of" 20" this means that every 20 minutes, take a gap of 20 seconds, blink your eyes actively 20 times and focus at an object which is minimum 20 feet away. This will help in relieving your eyes from the continuous strain that is caused due to staring. Staring at the computer continuously causes us to subconsciously blink less than normal. This causes the tear film on the surface of the eye to dry up. The result of this is pain, discomfort, etc. Another suggestions regarding the usage of computers is to maintain a proper posture. The computer must be positioned at the same height as your eye level. The neck should not be inadvertently flexed or extended. Roughly, an angle of 90 degrees should be maintained between your upper body and thighs. Likewise, a similar angle (90 degrees) should be maintained between your lower legs and thighs. Also the angle between your hands and arms should be roughly 90 degrees. This is the healthy ergonomic way of sitting while using a computer. Maintenance of proper posture would help in further relieving the symptoms of eye discomfort and pain. You could consider preservative free lubricant eye drops 4 to 5 times daily. These eye drops would ensure that your eyes stay well lubricated and fresh. All these suggestions may take a while to sink in and imbibe in your routine. Once followed, they are sure to work wonders for you. You could also use a preservative free lubricant eye drop 4 to 5 times in a day. Also, adequate sleep of 7 hours a day is essential in order to maintain healthy eyes. Hope my suggestions help you. Take care. Regards

Hello. There is no medication or food for improving eye sight or to get rid of glasses. Get your vision tested and wear glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser your number will increase till 18-20 years age whether you wear glasses or not and after that number will become stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik after 18-20 years of age.

Watering of the eyes has multiple causes associated with it. To enumerate a few common causes: (1) allergy of the eye. It is usually caused by improper eye hygiene. There is a tendency to rub the eyes with fingers, handkerchief, cloth, etc. This is not a good habit because it tends to transmit lots of virus, bacteria and dust into the eye. Allergy usually presents with symptoms of watering (clear water), redness and itching of the eye. (2) infectious conjunctivitis: this is usually associated with white-yellowish discharge. If so, it would be a good idea to go and show to an eye specialist in person. (3) foreign body lodged in the eye. This is more commonly associated with people who drive 2 wheeler vehicles without protection. It occurs more commonly in one eye. Foreign bodies that commonly get lodged are eyelashes, insect wings, small insects, dust particles, iron particles (more common with people working in the iron industry) the solution for a foreign body lodged in the eye would be better provided by an eye specialist at the clinic. (4) raised intraocular pressure: this is a condition known as glaucoma. It is not so common as the previous mentioned conditions. There is usually associated pain in the eyes. It is commonly bilateral (occurs in both eyes). There is usually a positive family history of glaucoma associated in a majority of the cases. (5) inflammation of the coats of the eyeball. This is known as" uveitis" it is also a relatively less common condition. There is associated pain. It would require a thorough eye checkup including the retina-thus a good idea would be to visit the eye specialist in person. (6) refractive error: change of the power of the glasses, or, if not using glasses beforehand-you might be in the need for glasses. From the symptoms described by you, it seems more likely to be a case of allergy. Maintaining the precautions and hygiene that I mentioned should probably work well for you. You should also get your eye power tested. Maybe you might require glasses. Hope my suggestions helped you. Take care,

First of all consult an ophthalmologist for this...if there is need for spectacles...that doctor will definitely suggest you to wear it. If not then just apply rose water in eyes and close it for few mins daily 2 times...it makes our eyes healthy.

Im saran kedhar I have been reading for last 6 hrs my eyes are paining alot and i cant concentrate forther.
Eye strain, or asthenopia, is when the eyes get tired from excessive or intense use. It can be annoying, but it tends to disappear with rest. Although it’s not often a serious condition, eye strain could be a symptom of an underlying problem. Eye strain is known to cause fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and headaches The first thing you can do is change your environment and work habits. By doing this you can relieve the pain without spending money on treatment. If you work on the computer, try taking more eye breaks by looking down the hall or out the window, or by closing your eyes for thirty seconds. You should get your eyes checked at least once a year, especially as you grow older. Routine eye exams give you the opportunity to discuss with your Eye Specialist any issues you may be having, and they may enable you to catch any problems in their early stages. Homoeopathic medicine CINELUBE EYEDROPS ( HAPDCO) 3 times daily.

keratoconus can be genetic or usually associated with childhood allergy or habitual eye rubbing.. if its stable, it doesnt require treatment . just glasses or contact lens would suffice.. an annual topography is required. if progressive then surgery called as c3r is required to stabilise it but it cannot be reverted back or cured

Hello DO the below given exercises to strengthen your eye muscles;- 1. Palm your eyes:-Sit comfortably in a chair. Rub your hands together until they feel warm. Close your eyes and cover them lightly with your cupped palms. Avoid applying pressure to your eyeballs. Make sure no light can enter your eyes though gaps between your fingers Take deep breaths slowly and evenly while thinking of a calming scene, like an empty beach, a clear lake, or a still mountain. Once you see nothing but blackness, remove your palms from your eyes. Repeat the palming for 3 minutes or more. 2. Massage your eyes. This will help to improve blood circulation around your eyes and face.

Medicines do provide relief but whats more important is lifestyle modification for long term relief. No permanent cure but permanant life style changes will help, follow these instructions: take frequent breaks while you are working every 20-25 mins take break to look away from screen blink more frequently' level of screen should be below the level of eyes ac should not blow directly on your face.
