One of my breast size is different from other, and I get pain from that side of breast before period and also at times. I think that I have lump in that side.

Difference in size of two breasts is quite common and considered normal. If recent onset with lump then it is significant and you need to see a breast surgeon or a surgical oncologist for the same. They would examine you, and if need be ask for an ultrasound. If they ding the lump to be present they may do a FNAC or a core biopsy of the same. The lumps in breast could be just breast tissue which is thickened or fibroadenosis. But it could be due to other causes like fibroadenoma, phylloides tumor, fat necrosis, cyst, abscess, granulomatous mastitis, Galactocele in pregnancy or cancer. If you want to discuss in details, feel free to contact me.

If breast conservation surgery (bcs) has been done, you should go for radiation. 2 mm margin is close margin.

Hi lybrate-user, I appreciate you seeking help. Well, I would advise that you have a healthy & balanced diet, preferably Mediterranean on a day to day basis. Stay well hydrated, exercise daily in fresh air, de-stress and relax. Keep your nostrils cleaned, you can put couple of saline nasal drops (pediatric), in both nostrils, 3 to 4 times daily. Try avoiding all that possibly trigger an allergy. You can connect with your complete blood picture for further traction with alternative medicines. Hope this helps. Do take care, and all the very best. Sincerely

My friend sister is getting pain in left side of the breast last 10 days. Local Doctor has advised it may be tumor. Please advice good lady Doctor. Thanks,

Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery, MS - General Surgery, MBBS, FICS
General Surgeon, Delhi
Don't worry. Pain doesn't mean tumour. For tumour to be there there has to be a lump (swelling). If you are still worried about it, then tell her to seek appointment of a surgeon. (surgeon is the right person to diagnose breast tumour) thanks and god bless.

My mother is 60 years old, I want to check for cancer of any type for her, she is not capable of sustaining gastroscopy, is there any test available to check for cancer other than gastroscopy. She is suffering from acidity a lot.

There is no single test to detect all types of cancer. A gastroscopy is to assess the stomach, a colonoscopy is to assess the large intestine (colon). A mammography is used to assess breast cancer. An ultrasonography is used to assess the abdomen and pelvis for ovarian and uterine tumours. A good option would be to get a health check up done which has cancer screening protocols.
