Hi, i'm actually a 17 year old girl. Last month I was expecting I came to know about this around 2nd june. Friends suggested to eat lots and lots of papaya. I did so and within 2 days I felt strong cramps and bleeding started. My issue is the bleeding was not exactly blood much more like brown stains but a heavy flow of it. Now after 2 weeks i'm again experiencing vomiting, fatigue, frequent urination. So is there a chance I might still be pregnant?

Do not just rely on papaya the next time. Take a contraceptive pill or ask your partner to use condom. Does not look like you have conceived since you had bleeding. If, still in doubt, get a pregnancy detection kit from pharmacist, it is easily available, cheap and accurate.

Osteoporosis is slowly emerging as an epidemic in modern day India, with more and more women getting affected by it. Perhaps, it will not be an overstatement to say that by the year 2025, India will be known as the osteoporosis capital of the world. But, the good news is that treatment for osteoporosis and other bone-related diseases is developing rapidly and you can easily maintain proper bone health by making yourself aware about the issues that might affect your bones and opting for ways to prevent them.

How severely are Indian women affected by bone related problems?

With the increase in longevity in Indian women, the extent of bone-related problems is also increasing, especially among women who are close to or have been through menopause. Studies reveal that severe bone-related problems affect about 20% of Indian women between the age of 40 and 50. Some common bone disorders that have a significant impact on the health of women with increasing age are:

  • Osteoporosis: This condition is associated with brittle and fragile bones, prevailing as a result of tissue loss due to hormonal changes or lack of requisite amount of vitamin D or calcium in the body
  • Osteopenia: Its severity is more than that of osteoporosis and this condition involves the lessening of bone tissues mineral and protein content
  • Osteomalacia: It is a condition in which your bones become soft due to vitamin D or calcium deficiency
  • Arthritis: In this condition, your joints get inflamed, leading to pain and stiffness

What are the common symptoms associated with bone-related diseases?

If you observe the following signs, you might be suffering from a bone related problem:

  • Experiencing pains without any known causes
  • Painful joints and muscles
  • Lethargy
  • Difficulty in walking properly

What are the measures can you take to prevent them?

Women under the age of 20 can prevent bone-related issues by:

  • Having a balanced diet
  • Ensuring that your diet contains the requisite amount of protein, calcium and vitamin D
  • Participating in physical activities such as running and jogging
  • Staying outdoors to get exposed to sunlight
  • Maintaining proper body weight

During the perimenopausal phase (the time when a women is about to experience menopause), she is more susceptible to bone-related issues and should take extra steps to maintain proper bone health. Some of these measures include:

  • Being careful about nutrient intake
  • Getting yourself checked by a gynecologist at regular intervals to ensure that you have correct bone density and vitamin D and calcium levels
  • Taking calcium or vitamin D supplements, if required
  • Ensuring that you have an active lifestyle

Fast life does not allow for appropriate rest and due to unavoidable work at an office or home and sometimes we have to work without making a break and we take painkillers, but on should keep remembering that excessive and overuse of painkillers should be avoided as it affects our whole body. Due to work pressure, we keep the work continues even if we feel pain but we should not make any movement if pain appears on any activity rather avoid such activity. Many persons, particularly ladies wear high heels; it causes strain in the neck, low back pain and knee pain. So one should wear well-fitted footwear and should avoid pointed and a high heel to avoid crowding of toes and other bone problems.

Age of both of you is fine but the reports are not good. you have PCOD and thyroid which one of the cause of infertility. and your husband is azoospermic i.e his sperm count is very very less which associated with very low levels of fertility or even sterility. so for both of you only one way is there for conceiving i.e IVF. So both of you should consult some good infertility specialist for further.

Hello, the most common reason of delayed menses in absence of pregnancy is stress induced hormonal imbalance which can delay the menses. You may wait for a week more to allow the menses to start naturally.

Sometimes even if everything is normal, there may be difficulty in conception (" unexplained infertility"). In that case treatment gives very good results, provided you follow the step wise treatment, keeping patience. Al the best.

This is old thinking that white discharge make you sick and weak and poor stamina and all. Get your self examined to find out whether that discharge is normal for you or anything else. U can't blame the joint pain on white discharge.

We are thinking to go for ivf . heard some myths that baby should b abnormal, premature deliveries, more chances of twins, slow growth of baby in uterus etc. Please guide us properly.

Baby abnormality is a myth. The rest of the problems you have mentioned are due to twin pregnancy. But in current IVF, we usually try to plan for singletone pregnancy if mother's age <35 years. Indeed IVF pregnancies are high risk. But can you tell me when we go outside- there is risk of accident- then should we stop going outside only because of fear of accident?
