I have black spot and pimples on my face tell what can I do for it I have not use any medicine or cream for same.
Pimples occur mainly due to hormonal imbalances which causes an overproduction of oil and cells inside a skin follicle. They block the opening of the skin pore and cause the follicle under the skin to swell and become red. It usually starts in teenage, but most of the time lasts into adulthood.  1. Avoid breaking the boils  2. Use a good sunscreen properly

1. Protein is the key for the muscle building. Without adequate protein, muscle gain and growth is not possible because weight training demands for amino acids (which comes from protein). You should daily eat about 2.2g of protein per kilogram of your weight. For example, if you are 50kg, then you should eat 50x2.2=111g of protein spread over 5-6 meals in the day. Include high protein foods in your diet. Your protein intake should be from foods rather than from supplements. Good protein foods: beans, soybeans, whey, fish, dairy products (low fat variety), meats, nuts and seeds (almonds, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds), peanut butter. Many of these are easy digestible foods. Milk is one of the best muscle foods. The milk contains two high quality proteins, about 80 percent whey and 20 percent casein. Whey is quickly broken down into amino acids and absorbed into the bloodstream. Whey is very good to consume after workout. Casein is digested more slowly and provides the body with a steady supply of protein for a longer period of time. Cheese is concentrated milk, so it is high in protein and calcium, fat and cholesterol. Include healthy skim yogurt in your diet, which can give you as much as 120 calories.-------------------------- 2. Eat custard apple (saripa, sitaphal) to put on some weight. This fruit is high in calorie.----------------------- 3. Healthy fats: avoid fatty foods. Most mothers, especially in india give too much ghee or butter to their children, thinking they will put flesh fast. But ghee is mostly saturated fat which is not a healthy fat for any body. Healthy fats are monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats and omega-3 fatty acids. Good fats: cold pressed oils (olive, sunflower, linseed, canola).------------------ 4. Drink pure fruit juice. It is full of sugar and added nutrients so it is a healthy and nutritious way to gain some pounds.---------------------- 5. Complex carbohydrates are also needed for gaining weight. Corn bread is also full of carbohydrates, one piece gives approximately 328 calories.--------------------------- potatoes are rich sources of carbohydrates and complex sugars, eat baked or as grilled potatoes. Pasta is a calorie rich cereal carbohydrates.------------------ 6. Eat bananas. These are rich in carbs and nutritious, one banana contains approximately 100 calories.------------------------- 7. Some people think that drinking beer helps, but it is not true, it accumulates in your abdomen, making it fatty.---------------- 8. Don't take protein supplements for gaining muscles. Consult your doctor for protein supplements.---------------- 9. Non vegetarian foods-------------- some of the non-vegetarian foods that help increase weight are given below:-------- 1. Red meat lean ground beef, lean steaks-------------- 2. Pork, ham, lamb------------- 3. Fish: eat two portions of salmon, cod, or tuna every day.-------------- 4. Shrimps: the nutrients and necessary acid content present in shrimps gives healthy calories.----------------------- 5. Turkey------------ 6. Chicken breast chicken breast, is supposed to be the healthiest and non-fat part which has approximately 78 calories for each serving.----------------------- 7. Whole eggs: eggs are loaded with protein, vitamins a, d and e.------------------- ________________________________________ weight gain diet----------------- it is not a good idea of increasing intake of junk foods and fatty foods to gain weight. You should be eating calorie dense yet nutritious food. Your calorie intake should come from foods that are healthy for you. The weight gaining diet should include high protein foods, high carbohydrate foods and healthy fats. Include these in your diet.---------------------- breakfast:---------------------- banana and milk or banana shake or smoothie, whole-grain toast, fruits, nuts. Eat more fruit and drink less juice. Do not take milk mixed with ghee. It is not healthy.-------------------- lunch-----------------: roti or chapatti or wholegrain bread, rice, green vegetables, paneer, dal, chole recipe, black-eyed beans (lobia), rajma, whole wheat pudding (dalia), etc ------------------dinner---------------------------- similar to lunch in-between meals:----------------------- fruit, sandwich, yogurt (curd), milk, cheese, salad------------------- avoid deep fried snacks like samosa (samosa recipe), pakodas, bhujia etc. Avoid fast foods.

If you have regular 28 to 30 days cycles then pregnancy is unlikely from this episode alone. However in order to prevent any unwanted pregnancy you cannot rely on withdrawal method alone and need to use regular contraception like pills or injection or condoms or consider a coil

Vaginal Bleeding Between Periods - Are There Ways to Prevent it?

MBBS, MS - Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Post Doctoral Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine, Fellowship in Infertility, Diploma in Assisted Reproductive Technology & Embryology
Gynaecologist, Hyderabad
Vaginal Bleeding Between Periods - Are There Ways to Prevent it?

Many women experience unusual vaginal bleeding between periods at some point in their lives. It is also known as metrorrhagia. Vaginal bleeding is thought to be abnormal in the following cases:
1. When your menstrual period is not expected
2. When your menstrual flow is lighter or heavier than normal
3. At unexpected stages in life. For example, when you are pregnant or after you have attained menopause.

Bleeding during periods is not a normal condition. Usually, the duration of the cycle is about 21 – 35 days. Abnormal vaginal bleeding has numerous conceivable causes. Independently, it doesn't show a genuine condition.

  1. Mid-cycle bleeding can be caused due to ovulation.
  2. Two hormones that regulate the menstrual cycle are progesterone or oestrogen. A condition of hormonal imbalance which is known as Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOs) causes interference with normal ovulation. This results in problems in thyroid glands as well as causes dysfunctional ovaries.
  3. Medications such as birth control pills are capable of causing abnormal bleeding, especially with the irregular intake of such medications.
  4. Infections or inflammation caused in the pelvic regions such as uterus, vagina, cervix, ovaries or fallopian tubes are capable of causing abnormal bleeding. STIs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases) and PIDs (Pelvic inflammatory disease) are often the cause of such a condition.
  5. Although Cancer is not one of the primary causes, cancer in organs such as the uterus, vagina, cervix and ovaries are capable of causing abnormal bleeding during periods.

How it can prevented

  1. Maintaining a healthy diet. Women who are either underweight or overweight tend to have more problems with abnormal bleeding
  2. Relaxation practices should be followed so that stress is reduced. Stress can cause abnormal bleeding.
  3. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) should be consumed to reduce menstrual bleeding. Examples are ibuprofen or naproxen.
  4. In case of consumption, birth control pills should be taken as per the prescription only and regularly at the same time.
  5. Hormone therapy (using external hormones in a medical treatment) can be used in order to regulate menstrual cycles, stabilize the endometrium which is the lining of the uterus as well as to rectify hormonal imbalances. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a gynaecologist and ask a free question.

Dear lybrate-user, The headaches are due to the emotional and mental conflict regarding the situation. I know it is easier said to forget your love and focus on study. But you have to look in the mirror and do a reality check. Reality is that you are still a fresher in college. Break ups are never easy. But one has to face it coz that is ground reality. I would suggest you that whenever headaches happen, take strong deep breaths till the fullest of lungs and then just let the breath go. It will help you focus on your goal. Also know that Love is all about maturity. Emotional and mental. First befriend with yourself. Love yourself. You will get the right partner in mean time. You can contact for further assistance.

MBBS, MD - Dermatology , Venereology & Leprosy
Dermatologist, Amritsar
I am 20 yes old n I am suffering from a problem of hairfall n pimples on face also.
Daily shedding of upto 100 hairs is normal . Excessive hair fall can be due to male pattern baldness, physical illness or mental stress in the past 3-6 months, low serum ferritin or nutritional deficiency, certain medical conditions like thyroid and other hormonal disorders . So appropriate blood tests for ruling out above conditions may be done if indicated. Take a nutritious and protein rich diet (pulses, milk products, eggs). Avoid routine application of gels or frequent blow drying of your hair. Use a sulfate free shampoo for your hair twice a week. Biotin containing hair supplements can be taken for 3-6 months.
